Character doll of the Halfling Bard I play in a weekly D&D campaign.
- Face-up artist(s):
- Etsy's RedIrisAtlier (@angstypenguin on Insta)
- Date of acquisition:
- January 14, 2023
- Provenance:
- Head: Denver Doll Emporium; Body: Alice's Collections
- Reason for choice:
- Trym was the first doll I bought in a quest to reenter my very first hobby - doll collecting. As a kid, they were porcelain dolls my grandparents (and various family friends, once the hobby was established) bought me. As an adult, I wanted dolls I could pose and create clothing for, so I started looking into ball-jointed dolls. I went with the Minifee Alan Renewal A-Line for a few reasons. 1) Alan was the best sculpt I could find for my D&D character, who I wanted to create. 2) I wasn't ready to commit to the price of a larger doll as my first foray into BJDs. 3) The Renewal A-Line was the best body Fairyland offered compared to how my character is built. (Although I ended up hybridding her to get a proper Halfling build.)
So far, slim 1/4 are my favorite size out of all the sizes I've handled, so I'm very happy with my decision!
- Best Points:
- Can you guess from my doll profiles how much I love this sculpt?
- Worst Points:
- Definitely one of the pricier brands out there, although I think they're absolutely worth it.
