Syn is the latest of 7 incarnations of a girl killed by a lich, who the lich is obsessed with. Every time he kills her, an underworld goddess—the raven queen—reincarnates her. She thinks either the goddess finds it funny, or wants her to kill the lich, maybe both. Her past lives have been multiple genders, and in her native language, the pronoun she uses basically translates to “she except when she isn’t” rather than being a strictly gendered form of pronoun. She uses any pronouns in common speech—most often she/her, but sometimes they/them, he/him, or as some shadar kai do, uses her sylvan pronouns modified for common when talking to other shadar kai.
