Susu was blessed with a beautiful voice. Her parents knew it was her destiny to be the next great pop star. As soon as possible, her parents sent her to an idol training school. Susu trained hard, pushed on by her mentors and peers. When she graduated she was placed in a group with four other talented girls.

Their group quickly gained traction and positive critique. Fans loved them, sponsors offered many profitable deals, and their agents were pleased. Susu was on cloud 9! Everything she had been working for had become a reality.

But the demand became too much to endure. The fans were ravenous, always wanting more songs, more signings, more appearances, more anything. The critics were brutal, picking them to shreds. They were asked to change themselves; their faces, their bodies, their personalities, their mannerisms. All in the pursuit of staying relevant and profitable.

Then one day she looked in mirror and she couldn’t even recognize herself. When she sat down and thought about it; did she ever really know herself? Was it her desire to be an idol? She had always gone along with what was asked of her. But what did she want?

So she quit. She finally allowed herself a break and a chance to breathe. She allowed herself to exist in the way she wanted to, even if it was against her old standards. She tanned, she gained weight, and she never looked better. Susu was happy being anonymous and content with being regular. Susu now lives her life quietly and at peace. (And she still sings, just to herself.)
