Given that Salmarnir spends most of his time in Clash possessing Azrael, it would only make sense that he looks like Azrael too. Naturally this gave me an excuse to buy another Raymond.

Salmarnir is the title of a song by a band called Underoath. I love the song, and thought the name would sound particularly good for a villain. It is the Icelandic word for "psalms".

Story universe: A Clash of Worlds

Salmarnir is the offspring of the demons Orphicus and Hex. He was born out of Orphicus' desire for an heir, but his creation led to the downfall of the great archdemon.

Salmarnir is a manipulative, scheming, and very vain individual. While he is an incredibly powerful (and old) demon, he thinks he is more powerful than he actually is and tends to over-extend his magical abilities, to his own detriment. He has big shoes to fill as the child of the archdemon of chaos (though he is a little unsure of how true this really is, given that he's not seen his "father" since he was born some 5000 or so years ago. Regardless of this, he still wants to out-do the archdemon and take over the world. The idea of being the tyrannical ruler of an entire race of people makes him almost giddy with excitement. Not that you'd ever see that on the surface of course, he's far too refined for that nonsense.

Salmarnir is a sworn enemy of Arachnia and Ragnar, both of which he has dealt with in the past. Ragnar is the only person he is truly afraid of.
