Reason for choice:

When I initially saw this doll in the company news section of DoA, I was completely awestruck! I’ve had a lifelong love of religious iconography and have a small collection of beloved objects. When I saw this girl, I immediately knew she would be the perfect acquisition to merge my two collections. I ordered her within minutes, and I wouldn’t say she was an impulse buy but more of an instant grail!

Best Points:

As a fullset, she’s the perfect doll to showcase my beloved handmade rosary, as a rosary keeper. Her faceup is positively divine, and sweetly and softly rendered. Her body is ultra posable, very beautiful, and perfectly strung. Her fullset outfit (with its amazingly detailed and elaborate headpiece) is spectacular!

I have her in her beautiful fullset right now, which is spectacular! Her clothing will be beautiful renaissance gowns and veil combinations in deep, rich jewel tones as befits her religious leanings. Or sweet and simple Mexican-styled peasant blouses and skirts for more casual wear.

Name story:

She is the rosary keeper of my small religious iconography collection, so I named her Rosetta which means “little rose” which seems wholly appropriate.

Rosetta was a saintly statue brought to a small neighborhood church to display an antique handmade rosary that was believed to hold sacred properties. So many parishioners prayed at her feet over the ensuing decades, that she absorbed their faith and has become quietly sentient. This is why she is seen to shed tears from time to time when the faithful send up prayers for aid in their sad plights.
