Due to their very unique and expressive face. I also really just like the Coco Kitty molds

Best Points:

Very striking in appearance - is always turning my head. Stands out amongst my dolls. Fun to write for cause I love tragic stories.

Worst Points:

Hard to buy for because I need a very specific aesthetic. Even though I own multiple of it I don't particularly love the MDD body.

Prince Oriel, or Ori as I call him, took a lot of time to pull together. Between getting the head, then getting the body and finding an artist willing to do the rope marks and be able to make fake tears...it was a lot. I'm not even including the ridiculousness of dealing with Gem of Doll for his primary outfit or the Rozen Maiden suitcase that I got from Taobao. A lot of money spent but I absolutely love him. He's really one-of-a-kind imo and I feel lucky I've managed to get this cutie.

I wanted to emphasize everything to be white not only to make the purple on his face and eyes to stand out, but because it felt appropriate for a dead character. Additionally, due to where his body was dumped and the very innocent aspect of him I felt leaning even further into that. White can represent a lot and so I focused on that. I made a point to focus on adding gold points as well because the face-up has small bits of gold around (something I requested).

Name story:

Oriel has a meaning of "Golden" which felt fitting for not only the "golden child" of the family, but also because he's royalty. Hellebore was selected because hellebore flowers are tough and can withstand colder weather unlike others. As he's dumped in the mountains I wanted something that linked back to the cold, though in this case not in a obvious way.

Introducing Prince Oriel Hellebore AKA Prince Ori. A poor soul killed after his father went mad and hidden deep, deep within the mountains by one of the king's loyal servants. Prince Oriel exists alone off a rarely used trading route due to the harsh winds and year-long chill of the mountains. The only comfort this trapped spirit has is the suitcase taken from his room and used to store his body. His wails and sobbing can be heard on the wind and echoed through the snowy peaks. Many travelers whisper rumors of the dead prince hidden away, buried in the snow and to never be found. Prince Oriel remains in this place and awaits that day that someone finds him and frees him from his trapped state in the cold.
