Reason for choice:

Originally there was another long-term wishlist Soulkid I had been thinking about asking for for my birthday, but it had an artist face-up that was not at all in mind what I had for that doll. I really did not want to remove such lovely work so I passed on this other doll. As I looked for other Soulkids (I really wanted another Soulkid), I came across a listing for Crispin who had been styled in a way that really appealed to me, and it included her eyes, wig, and outfit.

While I was on hiatus from this hobby for 15 years, Souldoll's site was one of very few that I would routinely check. Crispin had been one of my favourite sculpts released during these years. My choice in this doll was a combination of both loving this sculpt and the way the original owner had styled her. I love her so much.

The way Arteria styled this doll was something I very much loved about this doll. I would have liked to have had Crispin anyway even if the extras hadn't been included, but that they were made getting this doll feel like getting a fullset because of how much I liked them. After buying the doll, I spoke a little with Arteria about how much I loved the way she had styled her Crispin and that I intended to keep her style the same/similar. It turns out Arteria had always felt like she had gotten this doll's styling perfect. It feels extra special to be keeping this bit of history with her.

Name story:

Kaalia's name comes from Kaalia of the Vast, one of my favourite cards in Magic the Gathering. I have been a player on and off since the 90's and it's about time that one of my dolls got their namesake from this game lol.

Currently I am waiting for a Luts KDF45 Lemon -- she will be the closest friend of Kaalia. My other Soulkid and Luts girl were acquired within a few months of each other and were paired as friends. 15 years later the same will be happening with another Soulkid and Luts pair of girls.
