Reason for choice:

Partly because he's incredibly handsome, and partly because @MaryamDM convinced me I needed one!

I bought him during an event and was even able to stack together a bunch of vouchers to get a crazy discount on him. I have no idea how Dollshe even allowed me to do that but I'm not complaining. Also helped that I had just sold a doll I wasn't quite bonding with too...so extra money! Originally I was supposed to get him on the new (at the time) L2 pose body, but chickened out last minute.

Originally he was just going to be James...Something. He arrived and demanded that if he's going to be a cowboy he should have a proper name. So Jesse James it was. He does still need a surname though...

Story universe: Boneyard Steppe

Born in the early 1800s to a Comanche mother, Jesse James was typical child of the times. He lived in conflict between his tribe and the invading Europeans as they fought over land between themselves and his people. It was well-known that these invaders brought with them foreign diseases and ailments, though less known was the magical nature of some of these diseases. As a young adult, James was bitten and infected by a werewolf during another clash with the Europeans, and despite his tribes' attempts to cure him of this disease, nothing worked. He was abandoned and presumably left to die. But of course, he did not die. James lay low for a decade or more, learning how to live with his condition and how to master it, a skill few European werewolves could ever claim. He renamed himself and moved from place to place numerous times, he prospected for gold and silver, he fought in battles between states and territories, but he only returned home when he felt his mother dying. His tribe, significantly changed as he was, was wary of his sudden appearance, but granted him one last time with his mother as she lay on her deathbed. James hoped to fight for his tribe once again, but they confessed their suspicions of him. He harbored a European disease of a terrifying nature and for that reason they declined his request. He pushed them and pleaded, and they pushed back...with guns. James' own nephew shot him in the heart at close range, all but killing him. Once again he was left abandoned and disowned by all members of his tribe.

James recovered from what would have normally been a fatal wound thanks to the help of a passing stranger who insisted on being called "Doc". He gave James a new name and brought him to the strange town of Boneyard Steppe. There he was introduced to a place between time and worlds, filled with people just like him - people afflicted with magical diseases and curses, as well as outcasts, outlaws, and criminals, both legitimate and wrongfully accused. Doc gave James a proposition - he could live on the outskirts of town with a ranch as big as his heart desired, the ability to freely come and go as he pleased, and a blind eye to any misconduct he wished to partake in; but in exchange he had to be the loyal protector of the town and all its inhabitants. James agreed immediately and the deal was set in stone.

Not long after James' arrival to Boneyard Steppe, a vampire named Jack settled in the town. After several gunfights and multiple scuffles between the two, they along with Doc, eventually formed a gang that became notorious in both worlds for their crimes.
