Reason for choice:

I had an aesthetic and price point in mind, and she was perfect by both of those measures. I had been interested in resin BJDs for many years but was finally in the market for one, but being as she was my first and it felt like a big decision, I had to consider it for a few days. I kept thinking about her and worrying that someone else had bought her. Then I had a dream about having her, and that solidified my choice; she had already joined my subconscious image of my world and myself.

Best Points:

Her expression has subtleties to it; from some angles, she seems to smile, from others, she looks sad or bewildered.

Worst Points:

I think her stringing is a bit loose, but I'm afraid to try restringing her.

The outfit in her pictures was custom-made by a friend of mine! I told him to get inspiration from real Rococo dresses and asked for a dusky purple with white details, but otherwise, I let him go wild with it.
She really should have brown hair, that was my vision for her, but I accidentally ordered an orange wig and it looks really pretty, so...

Daylily flowers only last for a day. It feels fitting for someone who died very young after living a life in which her beauty was valued above all else.

Daylily is a dead girl. She is spoiled yet melancholic, sweet on the surface but capricious, and prone to worrying. I have shelved the story she's from, in which she was only a secondary character (I would have to have a lot more money to shell primary characters, and anyway they wouldn't be as fun to dress as a young girl I could swathe in lace and ruffles), so her character is part of my real world now, in a way...though I do plan to get back to it eventually. There is simultaneously the Daylily I imagined for the fantasy story I was writing, who would not have access to lolita fashion lol, and the Daylily in real life--this doll who is almost a person to me, who can wear whatever I want her to wear.
