She was released in the year of the rabbit and I was hopeless to resist her anime charms. I had a character all picked out for her of course (because I won’t buy a doll without one) but she absolutely rejected that role upon arrival. In the end she just wanted to be a nostalgic “forgotten toy”…sweet and poignant.

I gave her the simple name of Button because her sculpt provides a single removable button eye, which she always wears. It adds to her character and sense of whimsy.

Button is a toy stuffed rabbit that was lost and forgotten long ago by her original owner on a picnic outing. Like most children’s toys, she has a secret life of her own and when she awoke after the family had gone, she wandered into the fantasy realm that lies just beyond the hedgerow and thus began a new adventure.
