Narin and Narae

Narin and Narae are a line of Slim Mini and 1/3 sized dolls created by the Korean artist Bimong. They have been variously sold by Dollmore, Dollfair, Bimong himself (at his homepage Bimong's Atelier) and D-Storic. Currently (as of 2013) Bimong has regained the rights to his dolls. In 2018 he opened a limited order for some of his dolls.

Narae is the girl line, and Narin is the boy line. According to Bimong, "Narin means a child from the sky and Narae is a word for ‘wings’ in traditional Korean."

Narin and Narae have been cast in both urethane and French resin, and a variety of resin colors. The 4xcm slim minis ("N40") use a faceplate system with over a dozen different interchangeable faceplates being available, in a different range of expressions. The 60cm dolls ("N60") use regular headsculpts, with a similar range of expressions.

Measurements[edit]

The N40 Narin and Narae are slim minis, and they have the proportions of older teenagers or adults in a 4xcm high body. There are two different chest pieces for Narae, the regular Girl body or the more buxom Volume body.

Note: these brands / types of clothes are listed as suggestions based on reports by some doll collectors. They may or may not fit perfectly - be prepared to adjust as needed!

FOR NARIN40

  • Tonner clothes for Matt O'Neill / Hardy Boys / Peter Parker/ Harry Potter. The Harry Potter and Joe Hardy pants are short, but the Ron Weasley and Frank Hardy pants are longer.

FOR NARAE40 (Classic body - the New body may work with tops more than bottoms; new Narae has wider hips)

  • Tonner 16" clothes may fit
  • Clothes for 18" Tonner Kitty Collier fit (may be a bit loose and long)
  • Tonner jeans made for 17" Matt O'Neill doll works okay (bit short)
  • Ellowyne Wilde clothes are good fit (although sleeves may be short).
  • Dollheart Fer outfits fit perfectly
  • Clothes for Sybarite fashion dolls may fit (but only from older collections pre 2011).

Eyes[edit]

  • (Narin and Narae40) 10mm Ginarolo eyes - oval type fits better than round type (which gap).
  • (Narin and Narae40) 12mm Gumdrop eyes fit, 10mm leaves a bit of a gap
  • (Narin and Narae40) Eyeco 11mm fit well
  • (Narin and Narae40) One person said ED 10mm eyes fit well in her N406
