Hello !! As I'm going back to the hobby, I'm thinking of giving a big makeover to most of my dolls. So I'm quite curious if you want to do the same, and what would the change be ? For most of mine, I'm mostly thinking about giving them more of a princess look, when they weren't, for some, very styled. I used to stay with their base build lol
I have a little Monica guy and his body is perfect for him but I’m wondering if he needs a different head. I have him as an Enrill and while he’s super cute, his face is more on the round side so I’m wondering if he’d be better IOS head … little more slender or toned in the face. (Don’t get me wrong, I love little round boys but not sure it fits his character ..). Best of luck on your make-overs and I hope you enjoy them!!!
I'd like to get the boy body for Daisy Bacon, my Dollmore Lusion Daish. The girls body is too shapely (small waist with larger hips) to represent the young child she's supposed to be. The boy body (with the "boy bits" modded off) would be a much better fit for that, but the body alone costs more, these days, than the entire doll did when I got Daisy Bacon, and I'd be left trying to sell-on the girl body. Ooooh yeah I completely get you !! I hope you find the perfect face for him Thank you so much and have fun too!!
Oh wow, I didn't know that could happen for a body alone to be so expensive lol. I hope you find the perfect outcome for this
My Volks Cyndy needs a refresh. I've started to have character ideas for her, which is good, but that means her faceup is going to have to go. I was going to have to get rid of the faceup eventually: it was done at least 2 owners ago and is chipped beyond repair in several places. I have several dolls that have faceups from skilled artists like this one, but I'm going to have to wipe them because the faceups aren't what I want for the dolls and are lessening my enjoyment of them. I didn't commission those faceups, and I'm not obliged to keep the previous owner's characters or ideas. For my Cyndy, I'd like to emulate a bit of the warm "sun-kissed" look her existing faceup has, but give her angry eyebrows like the original Cyndy (without the early 2000s pencil-thin look). I prefer most of my girl dolls to have grumpy or neutral eyebrows and "no makeup" looks. I think I might try and find a pattern to make an oversized jacket for her (probably SD13/GrB size) and perhaps get her a hat and some shoes from Taobao before I have all my orders in the warehouse sent to me. The current state of the Cyndy head:
I've done this before, completely wiped the faceup, changed the style of wig, put a different style of outfit on the doll. The doll is still the same person to me, but with a new look and a new attitude!
I actually have a couple of mine I’m planning to give a makeover to this year. For both, I’m planning to lean more into extremes to express their individual growth as stronger characters. My clown girl (an Aimerai Scraps) has already had her faceup judiciously altered to be more clown-like while still retaining some of the company original, but now she needs a different body. I dislike her normal human proportions and want to switch her to a less thick, more lithe body. (I already have a thinner Resinsoul body on order for her.) Then I want to tweak her wardrobe to be more clown-like as well. My other girl (Doll Chateau Gladys on the mechanical body) needs to lean more into her connection to the Mad Hatter and White Rabbit (of Alice in Wonderland.) I already have a set of lop rabbit ears for her and these need to be painted, as well as checkerboard patterns added to her face and mechanical parts.
Several, actually! Axl is currently in the floating head box because I hated his former body, but I still need to research to see what will fit, match and fit my standards. And when I have money. I'm in the process of dyeing a body for Zack. This will be his third shell, as I've had him since he was born and he's almost 14 now. I had his baby version, toddler version, preteen version and now it's time for his teen/adult version. Two of Bren's heads just got back from an artist who dyed them to match his body for me, so I need to paint those so I have alternate versions of him (standard Bren, stage makeup Bren, clean shaven Bren and.....idk what the last will be yet!) I've also been toying with the idea of reshelling Monroe but I'm really torn on it. I love his body! But would like for his face to be a little more angular and nose a little more masculine. Unfortunately, he's like 57cm, and the other head I've seen that really fits his character is for 70cm+.
