Volks Dolpa 2026 Los Angeles

If I win a spot for the tea party I'll be there!

 

Planning to go with my wife and hopefully we actually get tea party tickets, but the future lottery will decide. We'll still go as an excuse to visit my wife's hometown though!

I'm excited to see what gets announced but I'm most excited for the opportunity to potentially try for an in-person DearSD. They're my absolute favorite doll size

 

Do you need a Volks doll to attend or can you bring any doll? I'd love to meet other bjd people in Los Angeles but sadly I don't own any Volks dolls (though I'd love to get one in the future)

 

You can go if you don’t own a Volks doll but you cannot bring another company’s doll to the event. I went to 2 Dolpas before I owned any doll and still had a great time.

Is the special rate already gone? I tried to look at the options and it told me they were unavailable.

 

Ugh! I’m so torn! I really want to go again but I had such a horrible experience with that hotel that it almost completely soured the whole weekend for me. Instead of the hold for damages they double charged us for the room and then were like; “oops lol I guess you’ll have to wait the whole weekend to get that sorted out and also we still need that hold.”

But the event itself was great and the Volks staff are all so lovely and wonderful and it’s so generous that they come to the states to do events for us! I guess I’ve got a little time to decide.

I also got curious and tried and got the same result! I have a hard time believing the block is already sold out and after the last time I wouldn’t be shocked if there was a technical problem on the hotels end to be honest …

 

Do you need a hotel reservation in order to attend the event? This is my first time considering attendance at something like this but the website makes it a bit unclear to me rather you need to be staying to participate or if it's just a service being offered at the same time my fiancé and I would like to make more plans during our stay so a different location would be more favorable, but I don't know if that stops me from going

 

Not only are we going, but we’re hosting a doll meetup for those who can’t make it to the tea party on September 5th.

I think I remember something like this happening in 2024 where Volks grossly underestimated how many attendees would want rooms and then having to increase their room block so more people could book. I'm going to assume the same is happening again and that we'll get another email saying there are more rooms available at some point.

 

Ah, okay, good to know. I did look into other nearby options but the special rate is really good so I'd prefer that, plus the location.

 

I am also looking something around, somewhere even lower price by the way. But map shows 5-15 min to walk. Which is seems still ok I think)))
