I got Prudence (Domuya - Vampire Veronika Bitten Series D1 Flexi 25) In February, but I waited to put up her box opening until I got her brother as well in March. Both were from Doll Peddler. Both together Prudence fully dressed, and Payne with a new wig. 100_6699 by Rabbid Bunnies, on Flickr 100_6701 by Rabbid Bunnies, on Flickr 100_6703 by Rabbid Bunnies, on Flickr I am very happy with both of them. I had to tighten strings, and they probably could both use a full restringing. But considering their age and how long they sat in the doll shop, they are both awesome!
Ha! That little bat is too cute!! I've got to comment on your Payne coming to you fully dressed. That's just so unusual! I wonder whether he was just kinda packed up that way one day and then sat for years until he came home to you? Lucky you, lucky them!! Seeing older dollies given a new lease on life, so to speak, always warms my silly heart. They're like beautiful coiled snakes, lovely and dangerous! They really are in terrific shape for being so old.
Oh, I just love the older dolls! It's surprising how many of them are still out there. The yellowing is very slight on both of them, you can only see it clearly when their wigs are off. I wonder if the store had him on display for awhile. LOL. Yeah, I wasn't expecting the bat! It's so adorable!
Wow! These two are amazing! I love Domuya's classic style. So much congratulations to you for getting these two rare and wonderful dolls. Do you know when Domuya closed their doors? Again congrats.
They are so gorgeous!! And in such amazing condition given their age! The Domuya bodies really pose SO so naturally in photos, I haven't seen too many of their head sculpts but they really are just a stunning package between the posing and gorgeous older style heads!
Thank you! I think they closed around 2010-2011 I know it was before I started collecting. I just really love the older dolls and doll companies. I wish I knew about BJD's sooner. I would have went crazy collecting! It always amazes me how well they can pose. I love the flexi feet on their girls too. It's great how the feet can go from flat to heeled shoes without having to change them out. Haha! The bat surprised me! But it's so cute!
Congratulations! An amazing set!! I hope you will share lots of stories for them! The bat is wonderful, too!
Thank you!! The wig looks a bit ratty to me. I did clean it up and style it a bit, but it just doesn't feel right for him. Now that I fixed it, I might try it on someone else. Haha! I wasn't expecting the little bat, it's so cute!
I'm very fond of old dolls! I find your vampires adorable and the small bat is so cute! It should be a great surprise when you found it inside the box! Enjoy your fantastic new dolls
