@AlisonVonderland he's so cute! I thought about adopting him as a fall friend.

 

Thank you @moonfind he is very cute for a fall theme for sure. We don't have actual fall here sadly. I would love to take mine to a piney mossy forest but I have to make due with often fungus infected potted plants. I'm sure he feels at home enough lol. It's a real fungal paradise

 

@AlisonVonderland , your Phoja's faceup has so much personality! Love it! You should get some reindeer moss. It's really a lichen, smells lovely, and lasts forever. You can get it online or in craft and gardening stores.
I'm sure your little guy would find it quite comfortable and homey.

 

Do you mean a preserved moss or living @phanuel I really love moss but have never tried to grow it. There are lots of cool interesting tiny ground cover greeneries he would look cool with that I see, like special fern types. And I had a kind of teeny flower last year I hope to plant again that was so pretty with him in it. If I stumble on my old picture I'll show it. Too cute

I’ve been considering getting a basic pet while orders are currently open, but I’m seriously stuck between choosing animal or fairy body…does anyone know what the pros and cons are for each one? Do the animal bodies have better balance?

 

I got a Groomy with a fairy body who balances pretty well. My deciding factor is that you can get more clothes with fairy bodies, as animal bodies are pretty limiting. But if you don't need clothes, I think either is safe!

 

Cocoriang has just released an official statement against Kumukuku.

Cocoriang is taking legal action against Kumukuku and accusing them of stealing the master prototypes of some of Cocoriang's dolls when they left Cocoriang.

 

The Kumukuku founder is actually a co-founder and part-owner of Cocoriang. This is an argument over legal asset splits since the two of them have divorced, and both seem to have an argument favoring their ownership of doll designs.

I assume this will end up being a matter for a court to untangle.

 

Oh dear...isn't she in fact a sculptor? Also kind of wacky to complain about her taking parts home since that would've been a shared home up to a point...hopefully they'll manage to sort it out without burning their businesses and reputations completely to the ground.

 

Oh, I wasn't aware that they used to be married! It seems shady of Cocoriang to hide this fact?

Kumukuku posted some responses where they do mention their 'breakup as a couple' and how they will be taking legal against Cocoriang as well: one and two

While Cocoriang continues to doubledown on their previous claims and trying to make Kumukuku sound like just some employee.

This is all such a mess....

This was all pretty confusing. when I read cocoriang post I understood it as an employee stealing something from them. So now that I know what's really going on i feel bad for them. I hope they work this out without ruining what they have built. I hope they don't publicize it anymore and work something out privately.

The link for cocoriang one does't work. I wanted to re-read it carefully. I don't really follow cocoriang because I rarely buy their dolls.

 

Well, looks like Cocoriang has removed all the posts they put on Twitter and Instagram accusing Kumukuku of stealing from them.

They probably took those down because of all the backlash from comments calling them out for not mentioning the divorce and for trying to paint Kumukuku as just some employee who stole from them instead of acknowledging that Kumukuku was the scupltor.

The initial post calling Kumukuku a thief is still on Cocoriang's site but they've made it members only and you have to log in to see it.

 

Wow I feel really bad now now. I thoughtlessly supported them without realizing they were being sneaky.

 

Cocoriang is supposed to be at Resin Rose BJD Expo this coming week; wonder how this will affect things...

 

Don't worry! I was tricked too! And I think a number of other people as well! Not everyone was aware of the true nature of the relationship between Cocoriang and Kumukuku.

Most of the comments on Cocoriang's social media supported them at first too, then people started pointing out important facts that they had sneakily omitted...

 

I don't know now how I feel about cocoriang. Thanks for the info.

 

The drama is very sad, but hopefully both of them will move forward and have a happy future creatively and personally...

Does anyone have a comparison of Tobi next to any 9-11cm bjd or 3-5” play line dolls? Are they similar to calico critters?

I'm not sure about a Sylvanian family/Calico Critter comparison as I don't have any, but I remember distantly being told that they fit into Sylvanian family clothes? At least the tops anyway?

I have acquired a Tobi second hand! I was going to buy new but this one was a good price. I’m waiting on some shirts but I used one that is ob11 size for now. I cant wait to get some pictures outside too but the snow just melted here and it’s muddy.

Thank you @twylight and @phanuel The gardening set is from L’il Woodzeez. My daughter collects Calico Critters so any props in that scale are useful for both of us.

 

Does anyone know when the basic pet dolls will be available to order again? Everything on their website says ‘sold out’.

 

Cocoriang will usually drop an 'event' doll in a special color or fullset about 3ish times a year
For the 'basic' dolls, in white resin, the sculpts alternate by months. The basic sale runs from the 1st - 7th of every month.

Denverdoll just received a large order of these wee ones, and while I was originally holding out until a dream trip Resin Rose excursion to get one, I was starstruck by a yellow Chico in stock!! (Though whoever got that mint one, ooh... you are so lucky!!!) I'm so excited for her as my little Christmas gift to myself. I think my biggest worry is that I'll want more than one, because Tobi, Cheeriya, and the scottish fold kitty all have me melting as well....!!! Anyway, time to start planning outfits!

 

I have two Tobis now with the animal body and recently I found a Marshmallow Groomy second hand. She has the fairy body and doesn’t stand well, does anyone know of any stands that work?
