BJD spotted in the wild!

    1. And by the wild, I mean in the anime Otherside Picnic! I yelped with delight when I saw her. She wasn't on screen for more than a few seconds. Has anyone else stumbled across a surprise depiction of BJDs? I like seeing them in non-doll focused media ^u^ (Also Otherside picnic is really good... it focuses on internet horror stories and legends with a side of yuri <3)

    2. Interesting. This is like an... anime... yuri... version of Roadside Picnic, a Russian novel. Same basic idea: in the novel, scavengers ("stalkers") go to a "Zone" that is highly warped by alien activity, find extraterrestrial artifacts, and sell them off. This inspired the movie Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky, and a bunch of videogames. The title Roadside Picnic comes from the idea of extremely advanced aliens dropping by on Earth for a pit stop, then leaving reality-warping technology in their wake.

      (Or maybe I'm just thinking so because of the title).

    3. Okay that sounds really good, I might have to check that out at the library. I wonder if the author of Otherside was also inspired by Roadside Picnic! They seem too similar to not be at least somewhat related.

    4. As a TREMENDOUS fan of Roadside Picnic, I'm going to have to check out Otherside Picnic... My favorite Russian novel but make it yuri?

    5. :XD: Yesss!! I recently finished Otherside Picnic and while the relationship feelings weren't confessed they were still there. I'd like to see a second season and maybe some relationship progression, but I was happy with how it ended too.
