I ordered a gem of dolls doll in chocolate and I was looking for ways to give her natural looking dread locks. I have a variety of yarn I was planning on using to make the dreads but I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions before I start.
I haven't done it personally, but if you crochet I remembered this great dread lock-esque look that saraquill did (there's some more discussion of how to on the next thread page)
If you have a beauty supply store that sales braiding hair that is made out of kanekalon, they should have small packs of crochet dreadlocks extensions.
If you can get wool roving used for needle felting; it can be rolled and twisted into long dreads. (Using damp hands helps the fibers stick together better.) Then it can be sewn onto an existing wig. That's how I did his wig anyway.
I saw a very nice one by @Singull on Tumblr! https://struungout.tumblr.com/post/808844416858161152/ https://struungout.tumblr.com/post/779337398745219072/ https://struungout.tumblr.com/tagged/bjd wig making
