Chibi_Fluffy, I got the normalskin SID-body for her, the match is great and all I need to do is mod the neck a bit. It's amazing.

 

Sienimies, your girl is gorgeous! I'm amazed the Iple resin matches. My friend has an Iple Storm in NS and when I compared it to my NS Ryu... I thought Ryu looked a lot darker. I'll have to do another comparison when I wipe off his face up. Now I'm curious.

Not that I would get an Iple body for my Ryu... way too buff for his character. But it would be interesting to know!

 

My god. If the SID body fits so well I'll have to save a lot to be able to get it xP

ChronicallySpaced, I was too, I got the head this summer and looked over several matches, and I was also suprised that they match this well! The neck is just couple of millimeters too wide, but it is easy to sand it off a bit.
Chibi_Fluffy, SID-bodies cost quite alot, but I don't regret at all, it is simply beautiful. Here's a picture I took an hour ago, I hope it helps even a bit. The sun comes up for only 2-4 hours atm in Finland..

I made some comparison yesterday and found out my Jina is a pretty close color match to volks NS, a little pink-ish but still very close.

 

That's actually good to know... and clears up some questions about whether or not Little Monica bodies would be a match...

I still haven't started looking for new bodies as I want to join one of the Nobility Doll GO...
But the SID body is really great, maybe I can find an equivalent ?
I think I'll start by getting a wig/eyes/faceup on her before thinking about anything else xD

Does anyone else have a Migidoll that matches Volks ?
I want to figure out what year my Jina is... I think it's 2007 but I'm not sure xP

 

Migidoll's recent lack of communication is really starting to tick me off. = __ =' It's been a full week since they've replied to any of their QnA questions.. I've never had to wait that long before. Augh!

Yeah! I finally got my reply, and they said the make-up for my order isn't finished and they would do their best to ship before Christmas... Ugh...

I'm not surprised that Noel makes such a lovely girl. And your Jina is totally giving me a "Limhwa Human" vibe which I don't think I ever noticed before.

My Miho will be here next week, and I'm just dying to see him for myself. He will be WS which I don't see a lot of here, so I will try and get something for him to wear and get a pic ASAP. Man, everything is still sold out? I'm really wondering when they'll be putting stuff up for sale again. Maybe not until after the first of the year?

 

I just talked to Migi, and she said that they will be up again ASAP as they will be finished shipping back orders in a week or two. My boy is shipping this week which is really very nice of them, though admittedly its only been a little over two months and I am really patient anyways. I probably shouldn't say this, but they were even so nice that when I asked to add a wig onto my order before he ships, they gave it to me for free because they felt I was so encouraging to them with my replies. Haha, being a server for most of my life while I'm in school, it's hard to be anything but nice when you work in a demanding industry. Woulda told them that but I'm not sure they would have understood so I just accepted and thanked them too much lol.

 

I'm glad to hear they're getting things in order. ^^ It must have been really stressful for them over the past few months. I know I was impatient, but I tried hard to be very respectful and kind in all of my messages. I certainly didn't want to make them feel like I was rushing them, and I didn't want to take out my frustration on them, but it's hard to communicate those kinds of things through e-mail, especially when there is a bit of a language barrier.

I have never worked in the service industry, but I was a receptionist at one time at the office where I work, and I hate it when people can't make the effort to be polite and respectful at the very LEAST. There's nothing worse than being yelled for something that you can't control. >_<;

Anyway, I hope that everyone who's waiting gets their stuff soon. And I hope everyone who's waiting to order will be able to order their Migis soon, too!!!

 

Did any one else see the notice on migi about release dates and what tan dolls are being released?

For those hoping for just heads, it looks like they'll be doing tan heads for Jina, Yuri, and Owen!

 

Here is a pic of my Miho, Alain ^^ I don't have very many pics of him since his new look. I feel he needs a new body (will be his fourth .. thinking of just saving up for sdgr if I can confirm a match) and a better wardrobe, but anyway, here he is ^^

 

GTK - I'm surprised nobody here is talking this! As soon as I saw your post, I felt so conflicted DX Jina's been on my list for so long, but I had just recently bought my first doll (she's still in pieces waiting for me back home), and I keep debating back and forth whether or not to get his head now or not. Migi's pregnancy also leads me to believe that she won't be releasing heads for a very long time ><...

Winter discounts are also pushing me towards buying him (he's a hybrid, so his body is being discounted heavily as well...). The plan so far is to wait until I can get home to bond with my first before making a decision.

I don't know if anyone around here is still interested in knowing if Little Monica would be a good resin match to Migi, but after doing a lot of exhaustive research, it's looking to me like it should match reasonably well. I believe LM resin may be a bit more yellow, but it shouldn't be too dramatic of a difference. I'm thinking with a little pink body blushing, the LM body would look great.

I'm going to do a bit more research, so if I find out anything different, I'll let you all know. ^^

Okay, quick question. I have not been following Migidoll for long but when I found them, they were sold out. Now they re-opened and while I wanted a Migidoll Cynical Yujin but being that they are still sold out, am thinking about a Cho. I was thinking of getting the full doll but noticed the body measurements are slightly larger than say, an SD13 (mostly the waist). Anyone with a migidoll body have problems finding clothes to fit. Been debating on the whole doll (my preferred way) or doing a hybrid.

 

Is anyone getting through to the migidoll website? I keep getting a 404 page from the host company.

 

I can access the website just fine. Make sure you enter the correct URL (migidoll.com, not .net). The sculpts are all sold out for now because the company needs time to make the dolls that are being ordered right now. They should get back soon.

 

Must have been a temporary glitch. I was entering .com then, and just refreshed the 404 page now, and got the website fine instead. Thanks for looking, Arisa!

Michu- I haven't seen any problems with clothing on the migi body around here, but the body itself isn't a very popular one due to its strange sculpt. Its hips aren't as wide as say Crobi, and the rest is a fairly general proportion, so I don't see there being a problem with it. My Miho will be picked up tomorrow, so I can give a better answer then as he has the migi body, but honestly most people just look for another resin matching body instead of trying to get this one to feel right with their idea for the doll.

 

I've been clothing my boy in SD13 pants and haven't had a problem. It's tight at the waistband, but I prefer that to when it's too baggy. Also, I plan to sand off the slightly fatty belly that makes his waist thicker, which should help relieve the strain on the button. It's not a bad body. I'm certainly glad I just bought the whole doll instead of trying to find a match otherwise he still wouldn't have a body!

 

@Artemos and St. James: Thanks so much for answering my questions. At least I know clothes will fit and now it's just down to aesthetics. Which is probably the harder thing to settle.

 

Thanks DawnDusk. I might have to redo a bit around his eyes but I'm so lazy right now. It takes me a while..i think I need to buy more heads to practice lol.

 

Just got my boy today, he is great, needs some restringing, but honestly aside from the rough design of the joints, the body is better in person than it seems online. I am very happy with him and can't wait till I get the right eyes together for him so he will be complete! May post a box opening of him later when I get off work.

 

My order was FINALLY marked as shipped. I am so happy that I'll be getting my boy home soon. I could cry!

Also, I'm a bit bummed there will be no tan Cho. : ( Maybe next year!

It's interesting that she's only doing 5 tan bodies for this release and then however many tan Jina, Owen, and Yuri heads are ordered? Or do you think those'll be limited by number too. Limited by number would probably be better for Migi with the pregnancy and the recent back log she's had to work through.

 

I believe there was a limited number last time, rather than order period. I kind of assumed it would be the same?

 

I got my boys today! Yay! : D I'll have pics up soon. I am really in love with the extras they sent with the Sky Guys set- mostly the hardback picture book. Totally cute. I got blue eyes like I wanted, but I like smaller ones in my boy. The quality of the jacket and clothing appears to be top notch!

The face-ups are really pretty- soft, natural, shimmery. But the eyebrows are horrendous. x__x They're like, fat and flat... weird and unnatural! Blech. Is there any way to alter eyebrows without ruining a face-up? I might eventually have a hand at it or something.

Everything seemed fine, I was taking photos for a box opening to be posted shortly, then came the issue.

... The Shion head does NOT match his body. He is much more yellow, and as per usual its harder to capture in photos, but in person it's painfully obvious to me. He's wearing a low V-cut shirt, and in the crappy light of my bedroom, I can see it plainly. His head is much closer in shade to my Volks dolls, which makes me think that she shipped me an older Shion head and newer Migi body...

What do I do?? I really need some advice here. After that horrible wait, I'm really apprehensive about pressing her to exchange the head for a new one, plus the wait time that would cause. I'm not a fan of migidoll's bodies- I only bought a full doll for Shion so I could avoid the hassle of making a hybrid doll with Migi's new resin, so would it be wrong of me to ask for a refund on the body and ship it back to her? Since he is volks matching, I actually won't have much of a problem finding him an appropriate body, but if I have to go through the secondhand marketplace, I fear losing out on money for this body.

On a more positive note, as extras she gave us two pairs of shoes. XD One of the pairs is a really frightening scarlet shiney red, but I kind of like them. Haha! The other is a pair of the brown/white oxfords advertised on their site.

 

Omg! Cash, I felt the exact same way with my Skyguys Ryu. I loved the faceup and clothes, but hated his eyebrows! So I cover them up with his wig XD

I also really wanted to change them, but I'm afraid that I'll ruin the rest of his faceup or that it won't match. Plus it's just a hassle I'm not gonna fight.

That's too bad about your Shion! In all honesty, I'd remove the yellowing and then blush the head to match. The time and hassle of waiting isn't worth it, but then again- if you'll have this doll indefinitely, I'd want to make things right. But Migi shouldn't have sent you an old head that obviously didn't match the body. That's just bad service. And I'm not a big fan of the Migi body either. The knee system is a pain. If posing is important to you, I'd go the way of the Volks body.

tl;dr I'd contact Migi and see what they can do, and if all else fails then remove yellowing & blush to match body, or buy Volks body.

 

I'll ask my sister which one she prefers- I think she is planning on getting him a new face-up anyway, so it should be a relatively easy fix. I'm just annoyed that they sent the unmatched head and body and thought it was acceptable to do so. D:

I totally see where you are coming from! I would ask for a replacement head on this one! She seems to be in production of head right now anyways, so keep the body (as it is a pain in the rear to get another without having to wait for quite a while for refund and shipping in any case) and get a new head? The wait may be there, but heads are much faster to produce, and just maybe she has a better matching one already done? Oi, that really sucks either way, but I wish you luck...and as far as the eyebrows should you get a new faced head...don't even bother, either get the whole thing redone, or just get a blank head to be faced. My boy's eyebrows are quite the same though you can't see it as well in the pic I just posted (because I cover with a lovely wig), but they are just as flat and strange looking. Goodness good luck dear!

 

Wow, are all your guys eyebrows like the one a few pages back? All one big line practically with no individual strokes for hairs? That still seems way wrong to me, I'm a big Migi fan but if it were me I would totally say something about it on the site. Maybe if enough people mentioned it they'll stop doing it that way. Way back I bought one of the first Ryu heads from Ebay with a faceup and he definitely had "normal" eyebrows.

That really sucks about your mismatch issue Cash I can see how it would happen though. Your head might not even be older just from a different batch. They probably cast heads and bodies separately since they still sell so many heads without bodies. I doubt you'd be able to get a refund for it if it's still in good shape otherwise. Exchanging the head like Artemos mentioned is probably your best bet but you never know until you ask.

 

I hear ya about the eyebrows. I love the Migi/ANZ faceups, but the eyebrows were a bit of a let-down. So I did some research in the Customization subforum to see if changing just certain parts of the faceup is doable (and found that I haven't the experience or items to do it), and then searched around in the Customizers subforum and found a lovely artist who changed my Kleod/Owen and Difo/Ryeong's eyebrows for me.

There are actually individual strokes (near the nose), but they were very, very fine.

 

I have a Migidoll body and had an older SD13 body not too long ago, however, at the time when I owned both bodies I did not have a lot of clothes. The only real difference was in the leg length which was only a centimeter or two. Any clothes I had fit both bodies nicely...so if something fits one it's fairly safe to say it will fit the other. Now I have a lot more clothes and the Migi body still dresses very nicely, I've managed to get some pretty tight skinny jeans on that boy >3<
