Type Two Delf head on Type One Delf body or other company body?

Aug 25, 2006

    1. I knew I should have paid attention to the 'one-touch system' discussions XD

How hard is it to get an old Delf head on a new-style Delf body?

Also, what about resin match? :/ My Woosoo is really, really pink, and I've heard how much Luts resin color changes. It's not worth it to me if I can't get a really close resin match.

    2. It would be easier just to buy an old body XD;;

But I hear that the neck size is the same as the old body, just the insides of the heads are different. So it shouldn't be too hard.

If you end up getting one and it needs a little work to make it fit, you know how to PM me, I'd be glad to help XD

    3. He has his original body now, so I should just be content with him the way he is XDD It's mostly the resin match that worries me x___x;

But if I do end up with a new body and need help, I know where to go :D

    4. It's easy... Just take off the neck piece and restring with a regular s-hook. ^_^

The neck diameters are the same for the guys. Gals are a bit different, though. Type 2 girls have thicker necks than Type 1 gals.

    5. The resin color now is very, very different from the color it was when Woosoo was made, you're probably better off just keeping his original body.

    6. I need a little help here. I have an old type Luts body and a new type head. It says on the Luts website that the type 2 head CANNOT work with the old body. :sweat

But is there any way to mod it so it could work?

      Thank you! :aheartbea

    7. yeah i did it when I had the 06 Nanuri head and an older body..I used the Luts neck donut....also you can sand the "ledges" inside the head a little to flatten them more, but I just used the donut..and it worked good...but unfortunately that wasn't body I wanted to use...so I eventually sold it.. I also used the nanuri on a Domuya flexibody too with the same donut.

    8. There are pictures and everything here.

    9. Thank you so much, guys! You both seriously made my day~ :aheartbea

    10. Hello all. Right now I've got a Type 2 SS-El head on my hands right now and I'm in the process of getting an SD10 boy body for my other doll. It's going to take a while for me to save up enough money for the El's actual body so I'd like to use the SD10 body for him for a short while.

The Type 2 heads do not have the 'hook' for the S-hook to attach onto the body. So my real question is is there anyway to temporarily attach a Type 2 head onto a 'Type 1' style body?

      Thanks in advance!

    11. You need one of the resin neck donuts so the S-hook has somewhere to seat itself. Other people have used moleskin-covered washers, some people have made and baked their own neck "horseshoes" out of polymer clay. There was even an old thread somewhere about using a bottlecaps.

You need something with a hole in the middle (if you're going to draw the string through first before attaching S-hook. You need a slot going to the edge too if you want to work with the S-hook already on the string.). Has to be strong enough to not fold up on itself with the pull of the hook.

    12. WhenI got the frree Nanuri head I put it on my girls body thats a type one and it worked out pretty well, just if you turned him upside down he would fall off. I know the neck piece will help along with that.

    13. I know this may seem like a silly question, but I was wondering if there is any way to mod a type 2 head to fit a type 1 body? (Sorry I've never seen a type 2 head and don't really know how they attach) I have found a head that is type 2 that I really like but I only have a type 1 body and I don't have the money to buy another body. If it can't be done though I guess I'll just keep saving!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!:)

    14. It sure can!:)

If your type 1 body is a girl (which I am assuming it is) you may have to fill in the neck hole of the type 2 head a bit as the type 1 girls necks are thinner than the type 2 bodies. There is a company that make adaptor pieces, but I cannot for the life of me remember who.

Which type 2 head did you fall for?

FOUND THEM!!! The adaptors are made by Shiny Doll.

Also check this thread out for a method of using washers and other methods of filling in the neck hole.

    15. Dear Tonboko,

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!

      I am so glad!

I am bidding on a Nanuri 2007 head on ebay and it is just lovely! Here is the link if you'd like to see it:

      http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110162779708

I didn't think I liked the Nanuri 2007 molds but I just adore this one! Thank you so much for the links! This helps so much!!!

      Hugs!:)

    16. She is very pretty! I hope you can get her! :)

If you miss out on her, I suggest saving the pictures, that way if you can get a blank head and perhaps get someone to give her a faceup like that.

The person selling her is on the DoA so maybe she could do it for you. :)

    17. Wow... THAT different? o_O

I"m trying to find a NS CP body for my NS CP vamp Woosoo head - any pointers (ex. the resin from year __ is the closest)?

I'm all mixed up, because I've read Woosoo's NS resin was not pinkish, here someone says it's pinkish... So I have no idea what to look for actually... a pinkish or a yellowish NS resin. For those who have him (or have compared him to their dolls), what would you say is the main undertone of Woosoo's NS resin?

I found a seller who says their NS CP body color is close to pureskin. Should I go with that? *lost*

If anyone has a clue, please PM me...

    18. I took the extra neck peice off mine and my Ylder head fits wonderfully on it. Depending on color I have one for sale, it's BW and barely used.

    19. Hi all, I hope this question hasn't already been asked. If so, please forgive me and direct me to a link. I would appreciate that so much.

If anyone has an idea how to attach a new style CP boy (not "senior") to a Souldoll (not double jointed) boy body, I would really like some help. Basicallly, the head fits really nicely, just not sure how to secure it on there as the Souldoll body just has an "S" hook and the Chiwoo head has that new system that makes it too big for the "S" hook to fit properly.

Thank you for your kind help.

      Jay

    20. You would need/want to use a CP Donut. That will hold the S-hook into the head.

    21. I've tried searching for this but I can't find anything, especially with the search restrictions.. :sweat

Anyway, how do you fix a type 2 CP on a B&G body?

    22. You have to get a neck donut, or make one yourself.

That's what it looks like. The one I have is not a luts one, I think somebody made it and the previous owner of the body bought it.

    23. actually the best way to do it would be to buy the type 2 neckpiece from Luts and restring the doll with the new neck piece since the type two heads are designed to sit ontop of the neck, rather than around it.

    24. I honestly have no idea where to put this question. If this is the wrong spot, sorry. Feel free to move it if this is in the worng spot. I did a search and came up with nothing at all.
I have several Type 2 Luts heads that I have on Fantasy doll bodies. Aside from buying one of those neck pieces from Luts, which I really do not want to have to do, what can I do to get the head to stay on? I am not really a fan of the type 2 heads, because the skullcap pops off and the neckpice can slip and the head will fly off. I am hoping that some ingenius person has got a good suggestion of something to do to use a type 2 with s hook and still make it work!
      Thanks!

    25. Sometimes a metal washer inside the head will work, but it will probably involve pulling the S-hook on and off to remove the head. That's the solution I have in my Minifee hybrid's head. I also put some of that sticky-backed felt on the washer so it doesn't scrape the inside of the head.

    26. I actually just put a type two head on a fantasy doll body. I took the little resin piece that was holding the s-hook when the body came and used a hack saw to cut the slit the rest of the way open. Then I pulled up the s-hook and slipped the little piece over the elastic. The S-hook now rests on the resin piece and it's big enough that it doesn't pull through the neck opening.

I can take a picture later cause it's hard to explain.

alternatively... Taking a thick plastic washer and cutting a gap in it so it could go over the elastic would work well too. :)

    27. A pic would be nice! :) Mine came with a wooden dowl. A washer? About how big? That seems very swingable. Thanks for the help so far! :)

    28. I hope this is the right forum XD

      Anyway,
Question about the Luts' delf bodies. I know what the differences between the new and old bodies are but i was wondering if i get the new body and for what ever reason i want to get a different type of body for her, if this would be possible? like putting a the delf head on a iplehouse body? or different type body?

    29. Hi, i'm getting a chiwoo type 2 head with a fantasy body and was wondering how would I mod this head to fit with the body?

Do I use a luts neck piece or do I use some sort of clay like exopy to fix the head to the body?

I have some crayola modeling clay (I don't think that's gonna work) :sweat:lol:

      any help would be welcomed!

      Thank you! :)

    30. ok needed to edit that, i think you will need to use epoxy on the head so that it will fit the neck of your body. type 2 have an odd shape because of the neck piece

    31. You can use a neck donut (shaped like a letter C) to put Type two heads on nearly any body. That's all I did to put my Type 2 on a Fantasy Doll body.

    32. You can use a donut without modding but the pose ability of the head will be impaired because the blunt shape of the neck hole. It'll work but the head will snap to certain positions a lot, They also won't be able to look as far up as they could. You will also need to put the headcap on backwards because of the donut, One of the tabs on my boys head has a crack in it from the stress of putting it on backwards I think because I had him floating for quite awhile and I constantly put his headcap on and off and it only cracked after I started putting it on backwards.

You can though use the Neck piece (Adapter type) And it fits perfectly on the neck and moves exactly the same way a type 2 head moves on a Delf body.

I had the donut and thought it worked perfectly but as soon as I put the adapter on his body I was amazed, Totally go for the adapter.

    33. The adapter is awesome and the #1 way to go, but you can fix neck snapping by sueding the neckhole. Also, pushing the neck donut all the way forward (and using flatback eyes), I have no problem with the headcap; so it can be done. I use the neck donut for nearly all my hybrids.

    34. thank you vinyl faerie, cats10 and alexiell for the replies! I think I am going to use the adapter for the mod since I can steal it from another one of my boys.
      Thanks again!

    35. Anyone else with pictures I am having the same problem as drowingindolls....

    36. hmm i wonder myself, any other suggestions?! =D

    37. Hello everyone. I'm planning on getting a 2008 Breakaway head soon, but I cant really afford a Luts body right now. I was wondering if there's any modding involved or anything due to the neck mechanism, or is there an easier method. Also how do the recent normal skin Luts dolls compare, resin-wise, to companies like Fdoll, AA and B&G?
      Thank you for helping!

    38. Hi,
I have a similar question ... I am buying a Unidoll Jace head but can't afford a Unidoll body (and even though the Unidoll body they use for Jace is beautiful I like my men a little less ripped so I would probably buy a different one anyway). Has anybody any thoughts on how well a Unidoll head would work on one of the less expensive 60 cm bodies, like Bobobie or AoD? Any ideas on color matching problems?

      Thank you!
      Laeticia

    39. I think that you should both look in the Opedia "dolls" section. There is a ton of info there about color comparisons.

    40. Simple way to attach the head and still use the oh so helpful new mechanism, would be to restring the body with a type 2 neck piece. It's simple and quick, takes maybe 15 minutes.

You can also just use the donut but I find the head quite snappy due to the, well, un-sphere-ness of the neck hole (It's quite flat on the inside)

As for the NS matches, I can say that my Juri B's colour does not match his FDoll body perfectly (Both of which are new and of this year) but that match doesn't bother me too much but it may bother some of the more picky owners.

    41. I was wondering this, too. I have a second Lu-wen (sleepy vampire, oh my stars *__*) head with the weird-shaped hole for the type 3 body mechanism, and have ordered a Soom boy body to attach it to.

Now, I know the Soom cream white is a damn good (near-perfect from photographs!) match for the Luts BW resin, and I know that the type 3 head fits on a Soom body, because I've seen it done... but how?! What modding is involved, and where?

Goodness me. Maybe all will become clear when I have the body in my possession to fiddle about with, but...

    42. What Pinkpoogleh said is right. Using the donut thingie is the best, cause the head gains a lot of range movement ;) and the other great thing is you don't need to do any mod to the neck or the head, cause they fit amazinly. Well, I still don't have a Luts donut, so my dad made a wooden one for my boy, very similiar in shape and size to the Luts one and it works great.

You also can get one at Cool Cat Ebay store ;)
      http://cgi.ebay.com/Cool-Cat-Repair...idZp1742.m153.l1262QQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

I just love how my Chiwoo elf looks in his B&G body :D

    43. Thank you - that was helpful. From doing the "x head on y body" search I've now seen that the Jace head (Jace in 67cm) looks bobbleheaded on 60cm bodies.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how it would look on the Domuya flexi perennial (64 cm) body?

    44. Take a piece of a clean chop stick, cut it to bigger then the "slot", pull the s-hook up through the head, slide the stick in, turn it so it rests against the ridges, and remove the s-hook.
That's what I did for my boy's head anyway. It's a temporary thing till I can buy a donut or type 2 neck piece. I hope this helped.

    45. There is no difference between a Type 2 and a Type 3 other then the double jointing, so you can still buy the type 2 neck piece to restring your Soom body with it to fit you Lu-wen head :3

    46. Thank you so much for all your help! I greatly appreciate it. :)

    47. Has anyone tried the unidoll Jace head on the AOD body? I soooo want that to work. The resins look like they might, but I have no idea about the proportions (sorry for being such a newbie!).

    48. ...Or make one. XD Cheers!

    49. Sorry to bump an old thread, but I thought it'd be better than making a new one ^^;

I have an AoD body on its way to me that I'm going to use as a body for my sleeping vampire Lu-Wen head. I know I need a neck adapter to be able to put the head on, but should I be ordering a Delf neck part or a Delf neck part 2? If either would work I'd be opting for #2, but I'm not sure... ^^; I know there are Delf/AoD hybrids out there though!

    50. I've got a CP head on an Fdoll body. While the resin isn't perfect, it's not a very noticeable match - and undetectable in pictures. However, my boy is a type 1 head, so I don't know how a type 2 CP head would work on an FD body. From what I hear, you just get a neckpiece (those cute little donut shaped ones!).

    51. Either would work but I find the adapter(delf neck part 2) better then the donut. much smother head movement and you don't have to ever worry about fiddling with an S-hook when you want to take his head off.

Also the Lu-wen head is very tiny so the donut doesn't sit in there very well and you have to put the head cap on backwards which isn't that appealing looking without a wig on (You don't notice it with a wig)

For the record, I have a Fdoll/Delf Hybrid and I use the Adapter))

    52. Thank you very much for that info! I know Lu-Wen's head is smaller than other Delf sculpts, so I was a bit worried about it fitting on the body... Putting the headcap on backwards sounds awful! I'm a big, big fan of the one-touch system for heads with Luts, I don't even know how to use anything else! So I'll definitely be ordering the Type 2 adapter.

But I'm also thinking about getting a Crobidoll Yeon-Ho head to use on this body, and there aren't any hybrids that I've been able to find on DoA in this combination. I believe Yeon-Ho's head is even smaller than Lu-Wen's, about 8.5 inches, and I'm sure Crobi doesn't have the same one-touch mechanism as Luts. So do you think a neck donut would help in that case? @_@ The Crobi site says it'll fit on a Senior Delf body, which seems a little odd as the head is smaller than a Delf head XD

    53. My bg sky is wearing a delf hands ^^ the match is really good ♥ [white skin], I also saw some delf heads on bg bodies :O you should look on the hybrid database ♥

    54. A luts head on a B&G body would work and match resin wise, but the sad thing about B&G bodies is they don't pose very well. But as a tempory body it would work.

    55. I've been told that the B&G Type 2 Bodies pose well, so maybe it's the type 1 bodies that don't pose well?

    56. my CP normal skin SOONY is much pinker than my friends' normal skin B and G sky...he's very yellowy, he came that way

    57. Maybe. I think I have a type 1, but I'm not positive.

    58. Hello, I recently bought a nanuri "07 head and a domuya flexi body and was wondering if there is a way I could make them fit together till the type 2 peice makes it in. I don't want anything permant as I do have the peice comming to me, just something that will hold them together till it comes. Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated.

    59. You'll need a Luts donut (Coolcat also sells them). Or, you can use a washer, bottle cap, or a dowel.

    60. Hello! :)

I just bought a type 2 El head. But....I don't have a body that will work for him right now I think.

My idea was to buy the type 2 neck part from Luts ans then buy a cheaper body in order to make a hybrid.

My problem: I'm kind of confused about how I would actually put it on to the body. Luts said I would have to re-string the whole body. (Which I'd really like to avoid...)

So I was wondering if somebody could tell me if I really need to restring it/how to actually get it on (Luts was not much help actually. ) or if I would be better off getting the money together for a type 2. :sweat

---Please respond quickly, my mother is getting creeped out by the "floating head of doom" Hahaha! ---
