Agreed RoyalBarjack. Why couldn't the zuzu kdf be a dog or something different. Now it's just repetition. Though, if it was something interesting it might have been tempted hehe.

@xkelpiex I'm really curious what does the doll look like whom you want as Papaya's sister I also want to create little sibling relation with kids. Currently I have Jamong as my target for my other Kdf.

 

I can't figure out what eyes size I need for my KDF Unicef Event head, help me please TT^TT

 

We were joking earlier, but I think a duck zuzu kdf would've been better than another cat zuzu kdf xD

 

With those longer faces, they remind me most of Basil, Berry, Lolly, and Kiwi, but I bet they could make great sibs for lots of kid delfs

It's hard to choose Jamong resin, she really does look so good in all of them. RSB is my favorite but I think I personally need to buy her still in Normal skin

Honestly I need a wilder looking kitty. More like a Lio, but with big pawed feet and hands. A kitty that could tear your face off should she choose to... but one that still gets fascinated by dangling string.

hahaha, I also realized only now, too, that how similar name Corly is with Corni! I suppose Luts didn't have that much time or resources to design fully new dolls since there are so many in this treasure map event!

 

I wish they'd do a fox anthro! I still wouldn't buy.. but.. foxes, omg.

 

I recommend 14mm. That's what my hiro uses.

 

I love to look at the anthros, but I don't really n nd with them. I always joke and say the only anthro I'd get would be a Schnauzer, but can you imagine? Nightmare time, lol.

 

You make many furries sad with that statement, or angry But agreed with you, I'd love to see zuzu kid in a person but I probably never buy one for myself.

I would also use 14mm - Both my Bory and Kiwi use that. But 16mm doesn't look bad either. Many big eye kdf at Luts sales photos use 16mm. 14mm would look maybe more mature/a little more realistic, while 16mm gives bigger, wider = cute large eyes.

 

I don't know. A furry dressed as a Schnauzer would be cuter than an Anthro resin one.

My Bory wears 12mm, but I tend to prefer smaller eyes in my dolls.

Can you guys help me out? What kind of shoes do your KDFs wear that don't cost a fortune? I want some pretty girly shoes for my darling, but her feet are so wide that it seems like only boy shoes fit her. I see Releaserain has shoes for "big msds" -- do they fit? I'm so frustrated I even tried sanding her feet, but I couldn't make them slim enough without doing serious harm to her adorable little toes. I have such a big pile of shoes that don't fit her that I've contemplated buying another doll just so she can wear the shoes.

PS She has the old style body with flat feet. Are the heel feet easier to fit?

[MENTION=24473]thessalyrose[/MENTION] have you tried angell studio shoes? My bory has the flat feet and the pink shoes I bought from AS fit her well. Though, the right side shoe strap seems a little short - somewhat tight to fasten. But the left side shoe fits perfect (So could be I just got a defected shoe) but since the right side shoe fits perfect then I'd say the shoes at AS fit well. I'm at least planning to buy more from them

 

I hadn't considered Angell Studio because I think at least some of their shoes come from the wholesaler 2079 Realms, and I have shoes I got from 2079 in a group order and they barely fit. I can get them on her feet, without socks, but they are so hard to get off I've pulled her feet off a couple of times. But looking at their selection again, I don't think all their shoes are from 2079, so maybe I'll give them a try.

Anyone else have any suggestions? I know all your kids aren't barefoot. (Except the centaurs, I suppose.)

 

All of mine are wearing Luts shoes because I was too afraid to try others. I've had awful luck fitting dolls in non-same company shoes. Some of my little ones are barefoot because of it! Maybe try looking on the marketplace for some second hand Luts shoes. That way you can also save on shipping

 

I've had decent luck finding shoes that fit elsewhere.
I've purchased sneakers from Dollmore that fit great.
My Peach wears boots from dollmore. They are somewhat big.. but I think they like to make them bigger anyways otherwise the poseability of the doll goes down.
I have sandals from dollmore too, but they are kinda big. [Then again, we bough sandals from luts and they were huge too...[
Mybayer2008 on Ebay sells shoes that we've purchased for our kid delfs. Sneakers and boots [haven't tried sandals or anything else.]

 

Uh, yeah. I bought KDF sandals from luts (the kind with no back, just a buckle in front) and they totally did not stay on. I ended up deciding that character liked to be barefoot. Then I later sold her, but that's not the point. LOL.

 

I have a pair of Mary Jane's from Luts. They are a little but, but they stay on. She also has two pair of boots from DollZone. They are probably a little big, but you can't see it. She stands well in them.

I have a question for owners of kid delfs with heads on the smaller side. Do any of you use 6-7 wigs? My Berry had a 7-8 wig from Luts that was quite big and bulky, even with a wig cap. But it was so long that it kind of balanced itself out. xD I just got a new wig for her, but since it's a bob, it is pretty obvious that its too big. The elastic ring around the edge fits (its pretty loose though and slides around) but there is extra fabric that kind of puddles? in back. But when I measure her head, I get over 7in?

 

I had that issue with my Maska when I had him. I think it is just because they had shallow head backs compared to other dolls of the same head size. Perhaps taping a small piece of foam or fabric to the are where the wig is squishy might help fill it out?
I could not get any of my 6-7s to fit him, but if you got a really stretchy one, it might work.

 

I bought an older Bory recently, and she has to have a headcap for 7-8. I have a Monique 6-7 on her now.

 

My Jamong has a pretty small but she wears a 7-8 with a silicone cap no problem, but without a cap it's way too big.

 

It could be partially the brand of the wig too. My luts wig fit like yours MilkTeaDolls, It was big but fit ok with a wig cap. This one is from ebay (purple plum) and is a bit bigger, I think. The For My Doll wigs on the other hand, were much tighter (probably closer to the 7" end of the spectrum).

I'm tempted to just buy the same ebay wig but in 6-7 and just try it. They are local, so it will only take a couple days to arrive, and if it doesn't fit I'm not out a lot of money.

My Bory wears a 6-7 wig but even for some of the others 7-8 sometimes seems too large. 2 possible solutions:

1) Make your own silicone cap out of a balloon (just cut off the end then stretch it out over the headcap like a shower cap) or a rubber band around the edge to give the wig something to grab on to or
2) make the wig slightly smaller by sewing. I just did this to one of my girls wigs because since it was so long and loose, it always slipped around on her. Just turn the wig inside out, pinch it near the back (where the nape of the neck would be) and take it in a little. That way you can still use it without having to buy another one.

 

I know I've put a 6-7 Luts wig on my Lolly and it fit just fine. I can't seem to find the photo though. I can put a 6-7 on my Berry if you'd like to see pics

Aliyahbetd, the 6-7 Luts wig does NOT fit Berry. Berry has a pretty big bubble head compared to some other Luts sculpts. Evidence of that here:

You're welcome I suspected the same thing, which is why I put them all together like that. Another reason why I don't get 6-7 wigs for my KDFs is because I like longer bangs. If you put a 6-7 wig on a KDF the hair looks too short around the face.

 

I don't have a Berry but perhaps a wig made to fit Minifees would look better? My Summer '14 wears wigs that were made on a Mnf Celine and they fit, though somewhat tight. From what I understand, Mnf are technically 7/8 though they've got a smaller head (closer to the 7"? I'd have to measure). I don't know if a Summer '14 is bigger or smaller than a Berry, though (has anyone else had success with mnf sized wigs?). And actually, I don't think you'd find heat-resistant fiber wigs in custom minifee size. :\ Ah well, that's just what I found that works, but I struggle with wigs pretty hard.

Okay, considering how few of them I've seen in the threads over the last few years, I realize this might be kind of a long shot, but does anyone have a Muroo they can spam? I adore the sculpt and I fully intend on getting the head somehow to put on my pegasus in place of the Jamong head (which is beautiful, but I have other plans for it), and I'd like to see what people have done with theirs. I'm also interested in what size eyes people like to put in Muroo. Luts puts in 16mm as default according to Muroo's page, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to using 14mm if there isn't any odd/noticeable gapping.

To answer other people... I'm not sure just how old your flat-footed KDF is, but my Lolly, Rosalva, fits in just about any shoes I buy her it seems. One of my favorite pairs is a Leekeworld M size, and she fills them pretty completely, but can still wear socks with them. I also own a pair of Dollheart leather sandals that fit her really well, and I know for a fact that I've seen Sadol and Nine9Style shoes modeled on Kid Delf feet before, so they should fit too. If all else fails, try shoes made for Volks MSDs. I remember switching shoes with one at a meet, and the Volks doll's shoes were so fat that they slipped right off my KDF's feet.

As for the wig discussion... I think we've had this discussion dozens of times here, but nobody ever seems to be able to agree about what they prefer. I find that it really depends on what you're using to keep the wig on the doll's head. If you use nothing at all, you're probably better off with 6-7 or a straight 7, even if the bangs end up short, since anything larger's liable to slip off the doll's head with little to no provocation, but... if you use velcro, rubber bands, silicone wig caps, or a combination of things, then I'd go with 7-8 in most cases. However, wig companies do not have a perfectly regulated sizing scale, and some companies run larger or smaller than others. For example, I find that Leekeworld's wigs tend to run a bit large. I have a Leekeworld 7-8 on my Lolly, and even with a silicone wig cap it's a little on the loose side, though not so much that she can't wear it. I also bought a Leekeworld 7-8 for my Elf Hodoo/Summer '13 head, and the wig was so large that the (blunt cut) bangs fell to her nose and even usage of a silicone wig cap wouldn't keep the wig in place. I ended up having to replace that wig with a 6-7. On the other hand, Luts' 7-8 wigs seem to fit all of my Kid Delfs perfectly, especially with something to hold it in place like velcro or a wig cap.

 

That head size comparing image is helpful! Does anybody maybe have Jamong head to compare to Kiwi or to any most recent year KDFs?

 

Sorry, no Jamong head, though I suspect all of the newer KDFs also have bubble heads just like Berry. Since I only own Berry, I can't say for sure though. I did notice that the way the headcaps go on is a little different. Where the older KDFs have a ridge on the sides of the heads, the new ones are just completely flat all the way around.

Oh well, I hope once I get Jamong she won't be too different with her head size than Kiwi. Though I suppose the Romance Kiwi is new sculpts? Or does she fall in the old category.. will see.

 

Kiwi and Romance Kiwi (and also winter event head 2012) should all have the same size head. Though I've never personally held a Romance Kiwi so I can't be sure. Maybe someone here can say for sure. I think the ones with the bubble heads started when the whole batch with Berry and Jamong came out. The KDF Lolly I have has the old type headcap with the ridge, so anything around her time or before that will probably be like hers. The rest of my KDF sculpts also have the same shallow headcap with a ridge, and they were made significantly before her. (Cherry, Maska, Summery 10)

 

My friends Winter event head '13 has a big old bubble head. As well as my sisters winter '14 head, so I'm going to agree that luts is starting to make more giant heads to possibly fit their wigs. xD My Yuz, Peach, and Bory all have smaller heads.

ACTUALLY, My Kelp does NOT have the big head trend and he can fit in a 6-7 wig.. So there's that...

 

Yuz is smaller...? Darn! I was hoping to get a Yuz to go with my Ttori, but her giant head would make a boy with a smaller head look funny next to her.

Anyone know if An is a melon head? He was my second choice, but after seeing more photos, perhaps a Summery 14 might work? He at least has a wide face...

 

I'm pretty sure An is a melon head. There are a few original KDFs that have the larger heads.

 

Tonboko : I have a summery 14 and yuz I can take pics in comparison if you'd like. But no ttori....yet

I should be able to see a Yuz in person at a meet in July. So seeing how he looks next to a Summery 14 would be a good reference point.

Duskblue, I wish I had paid more attention to the KDFs when I first got into the hobby. I am not certain who the bog headed original ones are.

 

Tonboko, I'm just a great big nerd and find out everything about what I'm obsessed with... in this case, KDFs. LOL.

There are not too many big headed KDFs. They are: Ttori, An, Woori, (and possibly Ani and Aru.) I know someone who has an Ani so I can ask, though I'm sure someone here has both of these dolls (Ani and Aru) who can tell us for sure.

I believe Woori and Ttori are CP sculpts, but i'm not 100% sure.

 

I know Ani will not work for me... I need a somewhat boyish sculpt (not that Ani cannot make a super cute boy!). I would need to find more boy Woori and Aru examples, but I think they might be a little girly as well for my taste (at least next to my Ttori). I think if his head is big enough, An might be my best bet or a Summery 14.

Searching for "An" is a pain in the rear, due to it being such a short name that also happens to be an article of the English language so it is practically going to be on most any page that also contains the words "kid delf". Thankfully we have the DoA and all its wonderful members to help people like me out!


On a side note, I know Ttori was sculpted by Rainman who also did work for Elfdoll. Looking through the wiki, he also sculpted Jeong and Nara. I am not sure if it was a collaboration or if Rainman was actually working for CP at the time. At the time I joined the hobby, Elf Ttori was really the only KDF that interested me, and I was still waffling if I wanted to get into immature minis, so I put her on the back burner. Then Luts discontinued her so I only passively kept watch on the KDF line until years later I found my dream Ttori on ebay and snatched her up.

 

I know Bory is one of the old sculpts. So I wonder if I got boy Duri would he look smaller next to my girl bory. I so wouldn't want her to look bigger. Gosh - the head size matter seems complicated. Duri has such gorgeous little face, particularly those lips. Funny that I see him so rarely owned by anybody but looking at the Luts Japanese site, he's the most bought of the KDFs there

 

My Ani girl and Bory boy both take 7-8 wigs.

I don't have much to compare him to Kid Delf wise, as the only other sculpt I have access to is the 2012 Winter one (the elf-eared Kiwi), but he is for sure bigger than that one! I don't currently have any comparison pictures of the two next to each other, but I would be very willing to take one if it would help you any! An is such a cute sculpt, and I'd love to see a few more of them around!

 

I always thought of Bory as a newer sculpt? I guess I think of any of the ones that came out after the transition to realskin as "new".
I keep hearing about doll-so-and-so being popular on the Japanese site, but I have never figured out where that comes from. Could you explain it to me?

Headcap 'raise' difference, too. Hiro is definitely more big headed than the yuz, Sora.
So their heads almost look the same size except for Jawline, but Hiro is definitely a larger head

On another note. we had a doll meet today at a park near my house. Frost, my Kelp on model delf body, was getting nice and cozy with my sisters Nana, Luna. >w< I love making photostories with them [and actually recently uploaded another of them today. Haha.]

My Bory's head was definitely smaller than my Wintery 13. I put a 6-7 on her. Her face looked very small next to my other girl. That is one of the reasons I put her on the MP. Not that dislike the small heads, but I am really attached to W13, and they looked funny together.

 

That is what happened to me with my Maska. Between the smaller head and his fancy faceup, it just was not working. Really originally I wanted and Elf Maska girl, so I impulse bought a human Maska when he was rereleased ... I gave it nearly a year, but I just was not enjoying him like I thought I would. Now he lives in Sweden with a lady that adores him.
