I need my own Super gem to get to photo spam. So hey, Is the soom FCE only once a year or there is no patterns how one can expect the events to come?

ShaySugar: yes! Jisatsu did all of the paint work on Dune. Dune has hooves and he is a sea horse

i think that the FCE is once a year. when i ordered Dune it was in the Fall.

 

I think Soom has at least two FCEs a year. They recently had the Teenie Gem and Faerie Legend FCEs, and are having the Little Gem one now.

 

Cat, I adore him, OMG! I always love your aesthetic for your guys, so cool to see him--I can only hope I'll get a chance to say hello to him in person eventually.

I received him back in November last year. But work has been so busy I haven't had time with him except give him a faceup and do ONE shoot of him.

Scutum its up and its super gem, i love his scar face in Brown tan. The outfit its very cool too.

 

Hmm....Scutum's face is a lot more baby-faced than what I initially thought...which is a good thing coz that means I'm immune to him!! Yeah!

Dang. I have to check the Soom site more often. I don't know how I missed the fox girl. She lovely. I don't think I've seen any owner pics of her.
I wish Soom would have an FCE for SG dolls soon. I'd love to get a brown tan Vesuvia and the fox girl if they offered them. Vesuvia is the only grail doll I have left to acquire.

 

I have a The Fox (and ugh does the "The" in her sculpt name make sentences awkward), but I don't spam her much cause she doesn't have a faceup yet.



I don't know if there will be a SG FCE for a while, cause it feels like they just had two of them. Though now that I check my order history, I guess the female one was actually at the end of 2013, wow... it doesn't feel like that long ago. So yeah, maybe it will be this year after all.

The new guy is cute. Kinda looks like a grumpy Chrom. Luckily I'm not Soomed though, cause I'm broke from Jethro and R.Amber...

I don't know where to ask or look anymore but does anyone know Soom's brown tan matches Luts tan? Or Iple Tan? Looking for different style hands for my Puss.

I desperately want Soom to do a human FCE with all their fantasy resins. I need a green Vesuvia as Poison Ivy. NEED.

 

Do they usually pick random dolls for the FCE? Anybody knows? Or do they go with some sort of order from old to new?

 

It's usually the dolls offer after the ones in the last FCE and old enough that the left overs have bee sold in a post MD event,

Scutum the Bear is sexy! but thanks God not for me this time! I'm in a layaway for a male Amber (and my IOS Ciel Phantomhive) so are good news for me jejejeje

 

I mostly like Scutum's scar face. The bear parts are pretty awesome too. But the whole set is not my taste. The head just doesn't suit the body or something. Gosh Paxita, you actually can afford Ciel! Isn't he around 2000$ or something! And on top of that you also get male amber. Lucky you


Question: Does anyone know if there is a problem with Soom Q&A because when I try to write them and as I'm done with my question and I want to hit the "write" button. Nothing happens. I tried more than once and with 2 different device. So frustrating. I can't ask them about layaway methods without being able to write

 

When you go thru the check out process it will ask if you want layaway and how long you need. Usually it is 4 month layaway plan, but you will need to pay the first payment when you start the layaway. As for the Q& A board it depends on what type of web browser you are using. I have problems with IE so I use Chrome for most of my purchases with Soom.

 

Yeah, I've done 4 months layaway before but I wanted to ask if I could possibly do a special kind of layaway, like pay a less at first and then pay regularly...Not sure if that would ever work for them but I must ask. I'm using Chrome and it didn't work. So I suppose I'll try other browsers. Thanks!

 

I think they will let you do a longer layaway, hope you can get the questioned answered with them, I know that when I have to ask them a question with that board I usually finish with the "list" buttom and my question usually shows up as "new". Other times I have to hit the "write" button again for it to work.

 

I hope so too. I'm just trying my last ideas to get Breccia.
I just tried Firefox and it all worked fine. I always forget sometimes these issues are browser related. Thank you so much for helping me out

 

Do you have any adblockers in Chrome? I usually can use Soom's site fine in Chrome, but I have to disable adblock plus or half the links don't even show up.

 

I use Chrome and Adblock, but have disabled it on Soom's site and I can see everything fine on my computer I think the top and side navigation bars need Adobe Flash Player in order to work?

 

Yeah, I have add blocker and add blocker plus to keep away everything - I suppose too much in this case if it affects Soom like that. But this is helpful tip for future

Will try to get a pic of my Anubis and Bast (Ender on a modded Iple SID body with EID "beast" hands and feet, and Brown Tan Ignim with her feline head), because the full dolls together are a better comparison.

Brown Tan *is* lighter, but blushing or airbrushing could make it less obvious.

I like the new guys face but not the fantasy options. Which is fine because I bought a Jack! Also are they behind on orders? I heard someone mention it somewhere...

Here in Germany there is something similar, called 'Wolpertinger'.

I have to ask something ... quite embarrassing ....
While I was redoing the bodyblushing of my Benmore the wristball broke in two pieces. The little part where the string is hold cracked ...
I will try to glue it with a two-component glue, but if that fails...
I dunno is there a way to get a replacement part?
Any experience with that?

 

Prince Whitemare ask on the Q and A, if they cannot get you exactly the right piece, you can also buy the hook hands (which I prefer) and they fit just fine on the new wrists.

Try to get a whole hand and wrist piece if you want the new style, because the hands seem to be unique and one wrist might not fit a new hand just right (I have trouble swapping around the hands that I have here--the wrist prongs don't fit well in any hand but it's own hand.)

Prince Whitemare How would the wristball break? Was it poorly made or you had an accident?

 

ShaySugar it was just the fact that I pulled it out for unstringing him and grabbed it the wrong way. I can't tell if it may had some material issues itself, but I really think it was just my own fault.
The piece is pretty fragile thus it isn't forgiving much of false applied force to it : /



I can't tell for sure but I think I kind of applied too much force it in the DON'T direction.
Don't ask me how I could be so stupid. I dunno myself.

 

I have recently been made aware that there is a soom Breccia head with my name on it...but I am curious what size wig she wears?

 

Oh....damn....that's the way I usually pull it. But I haven't done that very often. My problem was when I finally got that socket out and secured the elastic with a forceps. The forceps literally tore its way through the edges of the wrist. Actually...I should describe it as "the resin crumbled under the force" like dried up rubber.

 

yuan_mdx you are sooo right, the resin of the wrist itself is very very thin too.
But I think you could sand the edge of it and it would become hardly visible.
I hope I will be able to glue my broken wristball with the glue I ordered. I asked the glue company via their website which glue I should try in my case.
I calculated how much force the glued surface would resist and it should be around 50 - 60 pounds in theory. I will see for sure on monday. I just hope it will be able to hold the string again

 

I wish you luck Prince Whitemare, though I'm not sure how long that glue will last for you. That's quite a bit of force the thing has to endure...and for a goodly period of time. Hopefully, Soom understands this and sells you new sockets.

If it works well I can at last recommend something if somebody after me faces this embarrassing situation ... so this is the only positive about this for now.
I really hope the glue will be able to be near as stable as the piece was before. I think the ingredients of the glue are very similar to resin (?).

 

Prince Whitemare epoxy should be fine there--and the string holding the arms can be a little loose and you can put a wire in the upper arms and elbows instead for posing. That makes the elastic pull less on the wrist bar. You could even put a tiny wire under the epoxy to reinforce it. Don't feel bad about breaking it--there might have been a tiny bubble there no one could see.

 

If I'm reading this correctly, Scutum's sales page says that they're only going to be making 25 of his fullset with outfit (btw, annoying pet peeve -- you can buy outfit and *boots*, but Soom's dark photos mean that I can't tell if he's wearing shoes at all!)

Secret Boots may be well and good in Castlevania, but in the real world, most people don't want to buy a random item, sight unseen :P

Would it kill them to do what Volks and Soom do: post a clear photo of all the outfit pieces and accessories, against a white background.

Too bad about the outfit -- I would have bought it, along with VampBreccia's outfit, if it had been for sale :/

Yup, she definitely wears an 8-9.

My MD!Breccia, Brigh, currently wears an 8-9 Annu from Jpop. She used to wear an 8-9 Kanalong (also from Jpop)



My grey!Breccia, Aisling, tried on a ton of wigs when she first came home. Most of the wigs in that set are 8-9s, a couple were 9-10 but definitely too big.

Man, all the pictures of Scutum are too dark to see what his outfit are doing. That's also pretty weird that his outfit is quantity-limited and not just time-limited. Soom doesn't usually do stuff like that. I guess they can't get much of the material for some reason?

 

I rather like Breccia. I'm thinking grey unpainted. but, shoes???? the new Soom guys have very small feet. I can only shudder at how difficult it will be to find high-heeled shoes for the girls. and Soom girl shoes are not very pretty IMO. what are your girls wearing?

White Rabbit Northerly Breeze is "before shipping" so any day now I expect either a note or a knock on the door.

 

I've had excellent luck with Dollheart SD13 (NOT SD16) high heeled shoes on my Super Gem girls. Even shoes that are extremely open and require a good fit to look correct.

And I can definitely recommend Breccia in grey
