Mouth opening and removable tooth piece (start to finish)

What an amazing tutorial! The end result is incredible. This really makes me want to try this mod on one (or maybe even a few...) of my dolls!

 

This is amazing, You did such a great job! Thank you so much for posting this!! I am also a sucker for teeth, and I did do one mod I'm not 100% thrilled with and was trying to come up with a better alternative...this might be it.

 

Holy cats, that's amazing! I love dolls with teeth, but the only one with a removable teeth plate like the one you made is my Elfdoll Yuan ... you're giving me ideas Thank you for sharing this!!!

Wow, this makes it look really easy to do! Definitely keeping this in mind if I ever I have a sculpt I want to mod with teeth! (I've always wanted one with braces, haha). I did sculpt some teeth from clay before cos my Zaoll didn't have a teeth part, but the part about modding the mouth open was really useful to know Thank you for sharing!

that look fantastic, there a SD boy i been staring at, but i wanted his lips to be slightly open for with teeth showing also , course can't do it myself, no time or room, but that just add a lovely element to the character.

as an additional question, are fangs feasible on a removable part system? I can only imagine them getting stuck or not being able to go inside again once cured @.@

 

Oh, I just realized that I used this and it might be helpful to people to share my results! This is in a Resinsoul Seng, which is a 1/4 sculpt so it's pretty small.

I wanted my doll to have jaggedy, pointy Ferengi teeth, so I did have to differ in the tooth sculpting stage. Initially I tried to carve the teeth out, but they were just too tiny to do well. So I ended up grinding a few mm off the end of the already-cured tooth piece and sculpting the teeth by adding them on and sticking the tooth piece back into the head often. They didn't stick or get squished like I expected and it worked well.

In retrospect, I should've hollowed the mouth out deeper so the teeth sit closer to the lips. They don't show up in most photos unless I use flash. I still like them though!
