LatiDoll Yellow Discussion part 21

Yes, I know they don't care to our complains (since people keep to purchase them), but surely, many people consider to purchase secondhand lati dolls, and that's not good for their finance. I think even if they seems don't care of our complains, if everyone who complains that this lately normal skin looks too pale, will write to them about this fact, they could do some changes in future. I really don't get it how they can call that 'normal skin'.

Lati's normal skin is pale, but so are a lot of other doll companies normal skin. Take a look at Dream of Doll, Peakswood or even Bluefairy recently has switched to a much paler normal skin. Volks normal skin is generally pale and more toward the yellow side of things. It's really not that unusual at all. It is one thing to complain about things that Lati drops the ball on - communication and waiting times or sloppy faceups, but it's really not at all productive to complain at them because you think their normal skin is too pale. Simply do not buy a normal skin doll if you don't like the colour. I happen to like their normal skin and like that it is not very dark. They can't have a different normal skin to please every single person. That is an unreasonable expectation.

Having a healthy secondhand market is actually good for a company. I took a chance on my blue Miel because I know that if I received the doll and didn't like it, the healthy Lati secondhand market meant that I felt I could sell the doll and recoup my costs. I was willing to take a gamble on a doll purchase I would have definitely skipped if that feeling was not there.

kayjay - Thank you! Cute is well, it's cute but my dolls tend to have a bit of an edge to them. I really like my little Loki a lot. Though I am hoping to add another Lati to group eventually who maybe will lean more towards the cute side of things. It'd be nice to have a doll who will actually wear cute outfits for once.

 

Kim - I like the normal colour too, I dislike with a passion a normal skin which has a lot of pink in it. What's that saying, you can't please everybody all of the time??! I love my new Sissi and she hardly differs from dolls I have from Lati over the past year so any change has been very gradual. And good luck finding your cute girl or boy, I think I need to make mine slightly more edgy as I'm overdosing on cute here

BTW, I bought from Lati just head, because I prefer Tiny Delf bodies... Is it normal, that I didn't get certificate of authenticity? I got one for Luts body. I'm not going to sell my girl, but if I want to do it, I don't have any proof, that she's not recast. I think it's strange...

 

Neiryo - congrats on your pretty Lati! Did you buy the head new as it looks a really good match with the Luts body. I do think it's normal not to get a certificate with just a head, something I think Lati need to reconsider given the recast issue. Maybe print off a copy of your order/shipping notice for future proof of purchase?

 

To my great surprise there is an extra head in my parcel that just came in! Is it normal for Lati to do this? No idea who she is either.

 

They have been doing random gifts with orders, if you check out the notice on their site you might find you qualified. How exciting! I received two nice wigs from them with my Sissi as a gift.

 

I love stalking this lati yellow thread! Always so much cute dolls that make me want to get me an army of latis but I was so disappointed to wait 7 months to get a shipping notice for my olympos doll (I got the notice yesterday). I will have to think really hard before I order again from them and start looking more into second hand market when I have some doll funds again.

Lil Spark I think that's a really nice message Lati sent you. It shows that they are trying. You can atleast have your doll now if you choose to.

cyberspacegirl, that must have been such a great surprise! I've always loved the Suji sculpt--she reminds me a little of Sunny, whom I finally ordered a couple months ago. I wish we could buy Suji, too, so I'm definitely jealous.

Wow, Lil Spark, Harper is gorgeous. I love how everything is gray except for the splashes of orange and pink.

Arg, I keep coming here and staring at everyone's lovely Latis as I wait for mine to come. And of course I've only been waiting for about three months for my basic Sunny and only just ordered Mrs. Potts, so it'll be a long while. The bad thing about that for me (besides the fact that I'm as impatient as everyone else) is that I can completely admit that I'm a compulsive buyer, so the longer I wait without actually getting a doll the more I want to BUY another one. Luckily, I was really thinking of ordering a white this time, but I don't think I really like the new faceups. So I'm good at least for now.

Really did dislihaving to wait this long, but 8 months is nothing comapred to the waits ive had for Dollshe and Aidolls.

Plus I got the 15% points, which was sooo close to the salesprice that i could not resist getting a Lati white!

A tan Suji as the gift head is pretty amazing!

 

Maybe they had extras from dollism so they didn't know what else to do..?
It may be worth messaging them and ask if they have any leftovers ^.~

 

@Kim: That's right what you say but the fact is that their comparison pictures bewteen normal and white skin don't respect the truth, because the normal skin is really too much pale and looks more white than 'normal'. I know, they can't make all people colors they prefer, but a 'middle road' is always the best choice. The normal skin, logically talking, should be something between white and tan skin. But normal skin now looks too white and is not a graduate passage between the two.
I really like that touch of pink in the skin, and for those who dont like, could choice white skin. So I really think this is done on purpose. Since people who like more dark skin cant choice (why not, after all?) tan skin in basic doll, they have to spend 300$ if they want a more dark skin............
Btw I'll see in presence one day this skin, but surely it will be not like a prefer....

Hello everyone, so I've tried finding the answer to this question but I seem to be having trouble. Is it possible to add something to an order from lati if it isn't close to shipping out? I ordered from the last beauty and the beast release but I think I may like to add a Sunny head. Would that be possible? Or would I be better off posting a wtb on the marketplace?

One more question, I want the Sunny head to make a tiny delf centaur and Sunny hybrid. For that purpase what would be a good color to pick? I was thinking maybe white for both? I'm not sure I love the white but I'm concerned since the new ns for lati is so yellow that it would be a poor match for luts ns. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

 

It depends when you made the order, they allow you to combine if it's within the last 30 days. Do a pretend order and take it through to the next screen and if you can combine shipping it gives you the option there.

See above post for match with Luts, someone has made a hybrid and the normal skins look to be a good match but that was with the last batch, companies can and do change colours but I think with a centaur it's less of a problem as you could always blush to match

 

Lati always marked down their package right? how much do they usually write down on it? I just got a letter from my post office about missing invoice...never had this before

 

I always ask Lati to write a certain amount on the box. They have always done what I asked. I think they put what ever amount you asked them on the box.
It's really weird though the postoffice asking for a invoice.

May I ask, how well does the tan of the different editions of Yellows match? If I would buy an older tan body, would it match or be off?

 

nethernity they marked down my package to $20. I never asked them to do it, they just did it by themselfes. (which I was glad about too, because customs are quite high here :/ )

cyberspacegirl - pleased you won it I did the same last week, my maximum bid was £150 on a tan Sp doll for my Lea's head and it came with a mystic Coco head which is beautiful but I already have her (and paid quite a bit for her) so I have a spare head too, twins would be nice but then I'd need another tan body.... lol!! I think your tan Sophie will be lovely and really special.

 

And thus we buy another body, which comes with a head, which needs its own body... the circle of bjd buying.

Does anyone have any owner pictures of Kuku? I'm thinking I may need to add a little Thor to my collection, and Kuku is my fave of the smiling sculpts and thus I would love to make that work.

Cyberspacegirl, you are very lucky you got a tan Suji head! Congratulations!!!! It was very limited and I think only 30 such heads were available for people, who bought dolls from Lati at Dollism. So you are extremely lucky. I wonder with what order the free head came with?

SanNoche, I have a NS Sunny head on a NS Tiny Delf body and the colour match is perfect. But my Sunny head is older, I got her together with the Circus of Bremen Sunny. So one option is getting a Tiny Delf centaur body with NS upper part and search for older Sunny head at the marketplace. Or you can get a WS centaur body and order a WS head from Lati, that would probably be easier.

Nethernity, Lati always writes down 20$ as the value of the packages and even marks it as a gift. However, if the box is bigger (two dolls or more), here in Germany I have to pay full custom fees anyway because customs request invoices and the proof of payment.

Kaede, your Kuku is adorable! I really regret not ordering a tan Kuku, she is so beautiful! I hope I will get a tan Kuku one day.

 

Hi Smilga, the free head came last week with my Pharaoh Miel. I did not feel happy with waiting for him since May last year, but I really do feel lucky now!

Thank you! When I ordered her I had no plans for her, I just ordered her because I like grey skin. But when she arrived she just found her look herself and I am so happy to have her. She is my favourite of my Latis although I love the others nearly as much as her

 

I would love to join this thread ... I am looking for a Town Circus of Bremen Ver. Sunny and wondered if anyone could point me to any other places where I could find a tan Sunny. There are none here and wondered where else is a good place to look. I know there's a FB FS page and a couple of groups on Flickr.... but still wonder if there's another place.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated!
