That has to be the funniest thing I've heard today xD Doll picture taking embarassment is something I know too well <.< I'm only just now getting comfortable doing that in front of family LOL. Wonder what he thought xD

Also, Selina is finally coming home!? Congrats! And I think you should post Sophy with her cousin once she arrives (I always like to see Sophy, too. She's so pretty)

That's ok Sometimes cousins really don't look alike! I look almost nothing like one of my cousins, but the other cousins I have I look like all of them xD

Hmm...maybe that's why I like Sophy a lot? x3 I'm glad she's getting someone in her family now. Just a quick question about her, is she wearing a fur or mohair wig?

 

Ooh, sweet. I've never tried a Leeke mohair wig. In fact...only one of my dolls even wears a mohair wig (Well, I don't know if it's mohair, I can't remember. It's tibetan something). Does the cap on the leeke wig have the skin wig cap? I really dislike that, it always slips off my girls head. How does it feel? I've been wanting to try a mohair wig for a while, but I'm just hesitant about the wig cap/fit and how it feels.

What size is Sophy wearing, and does it fit her well? (Oh god sorry for the 100 questions <.<)

 

Oh thank you so much for the answers I didn't realize certain kid delfs have smaller/larger heads than others? That's kind of strange. When I said skin, I meant that my Tibetan mohair wig has some kind of animal skin as the wig cap. It gives like...zero grip, so it slides around, even with a wig cap ._.

That's a beautiful wig! And to be honest, I think it would fit in perfectly with your dolls. It screams regency!

 

Here is a pic of my new Bory centaur! I finally got his eyes changed and a wig on him (Luts). Two things. First, I'm disappointed that the wig fits so poorly even though it was recommended for his size. It's huge and way longer than in the sales photo. Also, he is HORRIBLE to pose. Argh! But he's sooooooo pretty, I have to forgive him. It's just clearly going to take a lot of practice to make sure he's stable and not going to do a massive horsey faceplant. I still need a name for him; I'm thinking maybe something Egyptian at this point. Still working on hammering out his character.

 

I'm going to chime in here and say that Lolly can definitely wear a 6-7! I got a freebie wig from For My Doll the last time I ordered and it was a 6-7. I tried it on Eloa and it fit PERFECTLY! It quickly became her new wig lol.

Yeah, Luts always advertises as 7/8 but 6/7 actually fits kid delfs much, much better. Their wigs are always too big for the kids.

 

Well Naamah is actually in a 7-7 wig right now and it's a pretty snug fit on her but it's also not a LUTS 7-8. Those things were evil and big! It's a Doll Zone 7-8 and my favorite part about it is that the color of the main wig is the same as the LUTS wig with the twin tails that I had so I can switch between the two clip tails and still have a wig that fits lol~

Here's a picture of Spencer hanging out on my bookshelf. I think he was trying to read my books, but his hands were a bit too small! I think I need to make him some books in his size!



In other news, I finally got around to setting up a small BJD room on one of my shelves, so I hope to get some pictures of Spence in it soon! (I also need to get him some manlier bed covers; the ones I have right now are purple and I don't think he really approves of that. :P)

I'm unlurking a bit early... I am the very proud mum of my first floating head and first dolly bigger than YoSD anything...
Her name is Inara but I can't show a pic of her yet (she doesn't have eyes and is refusing photographs), I have recently purchased her off the MP, she is a wintery 2012 (Now I have to go check what size wig I ordered for her eeeeek!)

I am in a split for her body (the type 2 girl body) but I will have to wait for all the Borytoars and the Zuzus to come in before that happens... quite restless already. The split is for Ani Nine Tails.

Aah new thread! Thanks for setting it up, duskblue! Sophy is adorable as usual, and I have definitely had moments like that!

If he's hard to pose, you're certainly making it look easy! He looks gorgeous!

On the wig discussion, I've never really had any problems with 7-8 wigs that a wig cap couldn't fix. Kivrin here is wearing the wig from Moonlit Song Lolly's fullset and it fits her quite well! Yuz has a slightly larger head, I think, and definitely bigger than Wintery, but I was able to get my Pine and Darae and Wintery all into 7-8 wigs with silicone wig caps.

 

Oh gosh! He's amazing! I love love love the idea of an Egyptian centaur!!! I can't wait for my Bory pony to come home. Though, I have no clue where I'm going to put him. I don't think his big horsey butt is going to fit in my doll cabinet...

Doll wigs are really tricky! I find I have to trim the bangs on almost all of my wigs no matter what the brand or size.

 

On the topic of doll wigs:
My Peaches head is the largest out of my three, I think. The 7-8 wigs from Crobi fit fine. My Borys head does run smaller. I still get him 7-8 with a silicone cap, but yes, the porportions from website pics to him are off [they are longer. The bangs cover the eyes when they're not supposed to... ect.] My Yuz seems to fit into 7-8 just fine, too.
All the same, I have wig shifting problems on ALL of my dolls without a cap. My Lu-wen being the worst [though it's not like luts really stocks 'manly' looking 8-9's to fit them -deep set groan-]
I think the 7-8s fit fine before their resin and mold change. The luts dolls used to be 'bigger' back in.. '06 and before than.

 

He's a cute one! I've not actually had much of an issue with my little one - I got him to buck the other week and he stood solidly on his two front hooves with his back ones way up in the air! He also stands on my bed, which definitely isn't stable. Had him at a friend's over the weekend and he stood on carpet unsupported for a few hours. =) The only thing I've not managed is to make him rear unsupported. He does a cute pony sit as well, hehe. Laying down is quite a challenge - I don't think his legs are made for laying down comfortably.

On the topic of wigs for Bory, I have a 7-8" Monique on mine and it fits fine without a silicone cap or rubber band. =)

 

I think mine's front legs are too loose (he's light tan and tan, BTW). I'll have to restring him a bit this weekend, maybe.
Also, I have him in a Monique Gold wig that fits my JID boy doll, so probably a 7-8, and it fits much better than the Luts one. With the Luts wig, too, it's not just the size, since it does stay on his head, it's the length/volume. It utterly overwhelms him, whereas when you look at the sales photos, it seems to be a reasonably short cut. That's more what's frustrating me. And so now I'm deciding if I want to cut it (scary, but doable), or just re-envision his wig choice. I'm actually kinda leaning towards dreads, ala Skaara, from Stargate. He's Egyptian-y.

Also, in the last thread, I promised a picture of the Dark Violet wig color-way. Here it is on my 2013 event elf head.


It's a subtle color, but pretty. Nice depth. Also, can anyone with both the light tan skin and another color tell me if you think the head is WS or Normal? I'm confused. I ordered white, but she doesn't actually look completely white, so I'm not sure...

 

Hmm... I think I know what you mean about his front legs. I'm not totally willing to tighten my one up yet as I want to experiment more with his posing - if I tighten him too much, I worry that I won't be able to pop his torso out of his horse part to lay down without causing damage. ^^;; My boy is in light tan and tan too, the colours are beautiful.

Dreads are fabulous, I would love to see your Bory in them! Such a shame about the Luts wig though - I'd have expected the wig to look more like the images on the site.

 

Hmmm, it looks like it's WS to me. The problem with LUTS WS and NS is that they're very very close in color. I had a second hand WS girl a while ago and next to my brand new NS girl my NS girl looked more WS than the WS girl!

That is definitely white skin. And in my opinion, WS an NS don't look the same at all. My WS Nana is like stark, paper white. And my NS Coco takes on a yellowish normal skin.

 

It looks like a white skin to me, too. :3 So they probably sent you the right one!

 

All this talk of head sizes has me worrying Maska will look pin headed next to my Ttori Elf. Maybe I will just need to get him a wig with a bit more volume to it?

At least the poor boy will have pants when I get him home. No naked dollies!

 

Just received my Bory Centaur, he's so beautiful I'm in love &#9829; He doesn't have a name yet, I will do his faceup on sunday. But I have to share some photos with you because in my point of view, it's the most posable doll I ever have.

I finally had time again to actually photograph my dolls now that my wedding is planned, and I'm caught up on work and school work. I hadn't really taken any photos of Mouse since I first got her. But she looks so utterly adorable with her new hat, I'm so glad to have her. Here is a great photo I got of her actually by herself for once!

There's a thread in Photo Reference asking for more photos of Bory Centaurs posing, if any Bory-taur owners would like to add to it by the way? I've been the only one responding so far but my Bory's head is off for face-up so I can't really do much right now!

 

Agreed! Definitely need to tighten him. He'd fall smack on his face if I tried any of that one hoof silliness.

Also, yes! I have a doll meetup tonight, so I will try to get nice posing pictures to add.

Here's a close-up of his face. I LOVE the eyes I got for him from Luts. They are so amazingly vivid. I wonder why they did no color adjustments for the face-up, though. People with skin this color do NOT blush that color unless they are dying of Scarlet Fever, I think...

 

i have the same problem with all my msd size dolls, kid delf, iplehouse and minifee. they all wear 6-7 wigs like their little sibs even thought he companies say they should wear bigger wigs! i have a basket full of wigs that are too big, and all my dolls fight over the 6-7's!

I'm slightly unsure now if I am supposed to be breathing a sigh of relief or still stressing about my 7-8 wig on order for Wintery 2012 too much info!

I do have the wig stay stuff you can buy from CoolCat or MimiWoo I forget where I got it from I guess it works like velcro, but it isn't it just looks like highly textured tape. But will also get a wig cap if required.

Another good trick for keeping slightly too big wigs on is to use the silicone ear plugs that are often used as eye putty. I don't like using wig caps because I have trouble adjusting wigs once they're on so I started using that instead.

 

So, my Bory was feeling jealous a bit, so at the meetup tonight he decided to prove that he was just as badass.

so, Fairyland dolls do single-handstands. Apparently Bory-taurs do single-hoofstands. He's growing on me... (Only his front right hoof is touching the table; I was just at an odd angle trying to keep other people out of the shot)

 

have you tried using that with tibetan wool wigs by any chance? i usually use the silicone ear plugs, but i have a girl with a tibetan wool wig that wont stay on no matter what i do, and i was looking at that wig stay stuff.

 

I do have this on my teeny tiny's head - she is a Qbaby from Dream High Studio, so is Puki Puki sized, but her head is slightly bigger, I got the wig and couldn't get it on her head (it was puki puki sized) and I cut a piece of the skin - oh wait it might be mohair - anyhoo, I am using that now and even when kitty grabbed her by the hair the wig stayed on, which was pretty impossible before. - Not sure what the inside of the tibetan wool wigs are like compared to mohair. - Hope that helps.

 

To anyone who owns a Darae and Romantic Kiwi, what wig size is best for them? 7-8 or 6-7?

On the topic of wigs, Nana wears 7-8 just fine with her wig cap. Most of my wigs are from Happy Camille and Licht, so I don't know if that makes a difference. I just bought a Luts wig from Zia89 on the MP not that long ago, but I haven't put it on her yet, so I'm not sure about that one yet.



I put the Oscar Mirror eyes I ordered from Little Monica in Nana, and they are so gorgeous! They are SO hard to photograph though. If you use flash, they have that "starburst" effect, which completely messes up the photo. But when you use indoor light, you can't see the beauty of the eyes. I'll have to try outdoor light and see if it makes a difference.

Has anyone had issues when visiting eluts recently? o: Whenever I go on, I get redirected to this weird site that masquerades as Luts. :/ I've been running antivirus scans before and after visiting and security threats that weren't there before suddenly pop up. I've bought four kid delfs from Luts and haven't had this issue until recently. Has anyone had a similar issue? D:

 

I've never had this happen, and when I went to the website just now it worked fine. Are you sure you are using the right address? The English site is http://www.eluts.com

I haven't had an issue with getting on the site either. [Because I learned my split for a bory head/ new body will be shipping Sunday since it wasn't shipped out yesterday. YAAY~ I split with Auntbear. She gets the head~]

I remember years ago there was a big issue with virus's and my computer wouldn't let me on the site. But seems to be going fine right now.
