Ooooh, new thread already? I've just been browsing lately, but I just ordered my FIRST pukifee yesterday, and I'm expecting her this week!

She will be a Luna, and I don't have a name picked out quite yet. I'd love to see some LUNA spam, and maybe you all could tell me your favorite places to buy props for these cuties?

Luna! I have a Luna!! Her name is Linnie. She was my first pukifee too (and second doll) - she's still my favourite, though I don't tell the others that! I can't remember if I've shared this picture before, but its cute, so I'll share it again anyway! Luna and Lamby!

As for props, my favourite place to get props is the dollar store. I've got so many awesome special finds that came from there. Several also came from the toy section at the local drug store. I've always got my eyes open for new things.

 

I want to thank everyone that offered photos of their boy PF's....I love Zoe and Bonnie as boys, no I just need to decide which one to go for ^..^

I am so excited guys - I have a new flat! We've (my partner and I) been camped out in my parents house for almost a year, but we signed up for a new flat just this afternoon! Now I get to plot where my dollies are going to live in the new flat, it is so exciting getting to have my own space again!

I think Rosie is a little over hopeful about the size of the new place though...

I'm really excited - I ordered my first BJD on Friday - a Pukifee Zoe! Can I request some spam to tide me over?

Has anyone received their choco or vanilla yet?
I know they weren't announced all that long ago, but I figured I'd check cause I can't wait to see them!

 

Here's my Zoe (still nameless). It's not the best photo and her homemade faceup is a little messy & pale (it's a work in progress) but I'm thinking that the mix up may have been for the best, I really love her! (for those of you who missed my earlier post, I had ordered her with a faceup and she came without one).

Anyway here she is, some of the other toys are checking out the new girl! That's an acorn cap on her head in case you're wondering



I've decided to use my refund for the faceup as a down payment on either another Zoe (NS with faceup, which I would still really like) - downside to that is I would have to wait since DDE doesn't have her in stock anymore (although hopefully not another three months), or a Luna who is in stock. I'm terrible with decisions I think it would be cool to see two "same but different" Zoes together, plus it would give me more time to save up as money is pretty tight and I really have no business even thinking about this right now!

 

cornflakes, your zoe girl looks lovely, such a soft looking faceup

and just to (not) help you with your decision zoe twins are adorable (check out honeythorpes who is the queen of pukifee twins), but it's always fun to have multiple sculpts too, so you'll be happy either way at least with dde if money is tight you can put her on layaway and then pay it off early if you save up sooner.

 

Thanks Auntbear! Much as I like more dramatic faceups too, I'm really liking the softer look. It's funny, this wig looked terrible on her before I did her face, now I love it (although it is a little big, and a little longer than I'd like - I like short hair on girl dolls!).

Right now I'm leaning towards just ordering another zoe and am sort of hoping someone buys the Luna at DDE so I don't have to decide! Her makeup was pretty light & she is really very sweet looking - they sent me a picture. But I'm thinking that if I have to wait anyway I won't be in such a rush to put out money I don't really have just yet, if that makes sense, since I will also need a wig, clothes, etc. So waiting on an order gives me time. Plus the idea of twins, even if they are different skin colors, is very appealing too.

 

Zoe comes in stock pretty often at DDE. I'm not sure why, but it's always a pleasant surprise.

My Pong girl came today. She didn't get any camera time just because the weather was nasty and cold. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

 

She's still showing as being in stock, so I guess they haven't updated yet. I asked if they would get more soon but instead she told me about the other ones that are in stock - Zio, Luna & Shiwoo.

Looking forward to seeing your Pong girl Vertefae! Do you have a name for her yet?

 

Cornflakes Your Zoe looks so sweet! She's a little bit how I imagined Aoife would be. Before she arrived home she was going to be a fairy called Cobweb but upon her arrival she announced she was a tomboy, didn't do dresses and wanted to be a pirate when she grew up. I have a default (Aoife) and non-default Zoe (Aedan) and love them both to bits.

I have the same problem with my Zoe that Honeythorpe has - I bought her after the EQs here (hence her name, Hope, cause I needed a little!), and was expecting a quiet sweet pukifee to keep me company. What I received was an adorably loud, overenthusiastic pukifee who believes that you can adequately skateboard AND wear dresses, and in her own words "Anyone who says I can't is pants!". So, I ended up getting her a friend, who is my quiet sweet little pukifee I'd always planned on - they're a good mix, Hope gets Rosie a bit more enthused about things, and Rosie tones down Hope when she's being too insane hehe.
Here is Hope with her favourite aquisition of late - a Batman skateboard. She was very cross when I had to ask for the ''boy's one'' when I got it at the 'shop' (that being a McDonalds haha), and pointed out she was a girl.

I don't have a Zoe but I love all the spam everyones pukifees are so adorable! Here are my two telling me what to change in my essay as if they know what they are talking about. They keep arguing on which part to change and demanding I change the font to a different prettier color.

 

hope is very much like might "lost" noni. my spunky 3 year old who disappeared when she morphed into wisp - a change i love, but i'm still trying to find the perfect doll to bring noni back. i just got a bonnie from dde, and i'm hoping once she gets her face-up done she will be noni, but i'm looking at the blank face and thinking the girls may have just snuck a different sister in instead so that i have to keep trying

you could send her here. we still have winter, probably for another month yet.

Awww Amber is so cute! Girl Shiwoo's are adorable I love their tiny smile it always brightens my day. I have to put lashes on Brannagh she got and new face up and her lashes fell and banished luckily she doesn't seem to mind much for now lol XD

 

wish and i are having such trouble finding eyes! i've bought two pairs of eyes for her and so far neither have fit her eyewells; they've both been too big even though they are 10mm size. the first was from candykittens and the second from mako eyes. can anyone suggest a company that makes 10mm eyes that actually fit pukifee's eyewells and aren't too big? :/

Safrin doll, makes 10 mm that fit pukifees, as does ersaflora and I have a couple of glass eyes from ebay I cant remember the brand that fit pukifees as well.

 

lacerbeam Captured in Glass eyes fit well into all the pukifees I've tried them in. You can buy them here on the forum. Hand Craft Glass fit well too

 

amber is wearing ersa flora, and i'll second the captured in glass though i would recommend you get the low dome eyes as the are easier to position and not get the "starey" look. i find the high dome eyes tend to be harder to position and a bit gappy.

ginarolo also has gorgeous eyes though they are a bit more of a splurge

 

All my PKFs wear Safrindoll eyes in 10mm. They fit very well, photograph well and are very reasonably priced.

Honeythorpe I just love the name Cobweb!! Yes it's funny how she seems so sweet, they really do seem to have their own personalities. Seeing your Aoife & Aedan together is really making a case for another, default Zoe. I like the fact that you have one default, one non-default.

MissCarrion, Hope is beautiful, I wish you remembered where that wig came from because it looks great on her - that's the kind of thing I'm thinking for my next one who has yet to be ordered - darker but still a fun color - I like shorter wigs too, I think it makes them look a little younger.

Vertefae, that's a great name! I think your Pong girl has a good idea!


Speaking of wigs, do ForMyDoll wigs fit pukifees well? They have a great selection but I'm tired of buying things only to have them not fit. I love the wig my Zoe has now but it's a little big although may be ok after I put a dome cap on her. I would love to be able to test them out first but obviously that's impossible.

 

Cornflakes Thanks. I'm sure Cobweb will come home one day, not sure in what form she will be but one day one of those new arrivals will announce that she is Cobweb. I have the perfect piece of tibetan lamb waiting to be made into a wig for her whenever she gets here. The character is partly inspired from A midsummer night's dream and the Moth/Cobweb/Peaseblossom fairies. It would be nice to have all three but I don't think it'll happen!! I somehow seem to have ended up with multiples of all my pukifees - (PongPong twins and three bonnies) but the Zoe twins are my favorite. Aedan's faceplate was a birthday gift and he is the perfect twin for Aoife. She is the naughty rapscallion and Aedan is her rather long suffering brother.

As for wigs. I really like the styles of FMD wigs but the fit can be hit or miss. Cotton Candy's wig stays in place really well but Cadi's wig likes to pop off at every opportunity. However, my friend has the same style wig as Cadi's and it stays in place fine - so I think it's very much dependent on the wig you end up with. I think the most consistently well fitting wigs I've found are the Monique ones, especially the Monique Gold synthetic mohair ones. The wig cap is quite stretchy and so stays in place nicely. Of course, the fantasy colours are a bit more limited with the Facets wigs but the Jpop wigs are made by the same manufacturer and have the same lovely soft fibers and come in some very pretty blended colourways.

 

Thanks for the wig info Honeythorpe! My only problem with Monique wigs is that the only place I know of to get them is Audrey's, and I had a bad experience and will not deal with them again - do you know of another distributor? I had my eye on some jpop wigs too, so many to choose from! It really would be great to just be able to try them on & decide what really looks and fits best. What sculpts are Cotton Candy & Cadi? I've probably seen them as I've read a lot here but can't picture them offhand.

 

It's been so long since I posted Pukifee pics... I am still being told that I have to add to the army (a year without adding to the army is too long by Isis' reckoning). Facets by Marcia is a great source for Monique wigs. You could check their feedback thread on the forum but I've not heard of any problems with them and they have a really good selection including some exclusive wigs. It would be wonderful if we could go shopping for them wouldn't it. Wig and eye choosing can become an expensive exercise. Tegwen my LTF luna had quite a parade of wigs and eyes until we got it quite right.

While their headbacks are the same, their foreheads are completely different so what fits one pukifee sometimes looks terrible on another. I am happy to try any of the wigs I have on my Zoes if you like. I have had a few wigs from facets and all have fit great. I'm probably going to order a couple more FMD wigs for my lati girls this week (their bigger noggins fill out FMD wigs a bit better) The other place for great fitting wigs is Ruby Red Galleria but their wigs have gotten rather pricey (although you can go shoe shopping at the same time and save on shipping). They do have some unique styles though.

Oh thanks Honeythorpe! Actually I was planning to get the wig Cadi has (although in a different color), would you mind trying that on one of your Zoes so I could see how it fits? I never even thought of their foreheads being different shapes & sizes. I'll check out Facets by Marcia too - actually I have seen that site but had forgotten about it. At sometime I'd like to get one of the Tibetan lambswool wigs too - not sure why one or two dolls will need so many wigs...

I love those shoes too booksanddolls. I haven't gotten to any sort of footwear yet.

 

jpop actually sells monique wigs so they would work too 3 of my crew emmie, amber and skylar have jpop wigs.

that's always the way it goes. and then you will find outfits that don't match those shoes and need even more shoes, it's never ending!

 

I just looked at facets & jpop - it's so hard to envision those wigs on these dolls, since for the most part they're modeled on "older" heads. Auntbear, do you have links to pics of any of those dolls handy? I'm just terrible at visualizing this! I actually really like this one but have no idea how it would fit/work:

sure. i have the same problem sometimes 'cause the wigs can look a lot different in a smaller size!

amber is in the least modded wig. i just trimmed the bangs since i find they are just too long usually.

this is an old pic, since the wig has been heavily modded to a shorter style (since i just can't leave anything alone ) i think it was a faith if i remember correctly
