    2. A shiny new thread :)
      Make yourself at home!

    3. Thank you for starting the new thread with sweet Sadie Pie, zozo.

Darla wanted to pop in and help get the ball rolling too. Attitude and all! (Yard is currently covered with two feet of newly fallen snow)

      [IMG][/IMG]

    4. Darla's attitude is apparent isn't it? But she is so cute she is justified :) Her jeans and boots have incredible detail - I really like :) The garden scene makes me even more anxious for better weather. Sadie looks settled in for the winter - such a cozy scene!

    5. Thank you so much for starting the new thread Zozo :) and what a great start to see Sadie Pie and Darla in the first posts here *waving to them*

I hope the snow has stopped falling for you now Theresa ((hugs))

    6. I love Darla's outfit theresa!

    7. Thanks for starting the new thread zozo! Love the gorgeous photos that started it off! Theresa, I would truly love a snow day, wish one foot of your snow had fallen my way! Looks like you didn't lose power...ah yes, a snow day, or two, with no loss of power would be just lovely!!!

    8. Thank you bajib, debra. Darla does love being in her jeans.

So glad the snow came on the weekend and not a work day wally. Lots of shoveling. I wish that I had time to get the girls out for some photos.

    9. Yay, found our new home! I'm still around, haven't lost my love for my DT girls, just have been busy with other things. :)

    10. I have missed you and your DT girls opal. So nice to have you back here, hope all is well.

    11. It's nice to be back! I've been busy working on bears, might be able to have some placed in a store in MD. Also my daughter is getting married in two weeks. So, things have been hectic! :)

    12. Arin really loves Tatty Ted, despite the indignities te poo bear goes through when carried around like this!:

    13. My (old style) elf body used to stand just fine:

(I won't put the picture up here as I didn't have a DT head on the body)

      Teddy

    14. Oh lovely to have you back posting here opal ((hugs) and lovely to hear your news too......and a wedding!!!! I love weddings!!! :aheartbea

And I do love to see your Arin Teddy :) my Petite girls always carry their teddy bears that way too!

      And news from me
Please welcome Penelope (my Deogi on the DT5 body)

I utterly adore this little doll and had no idea how delighted I would be with this dainty little DT5 body

    15. I adore the 5 year body, Jane, It's a shame I coudln'tfind a head that I could bond with thatwrked on the the body.

I'm glad your Penelope works for you.

      Teddy

    16. Oh yes! I had forgotten that you once had the DT5 body Teddy! It was a shame you didn't find a head to work with it.
To be honest I have never given it more than a passing glance before and didn't think I would ever have one. But as this doll came with this body I have finally discovered its beauty.....lucky me!

    17. Jane - Penelope is lovely. My Lily (deogi) is also on the 5 yo body - I love it's little shape.
Opal - welcome back and I hope it is a wonderful wedding.
Teddy - I always like seeing a DT boy - that is a great suit - where did you get it?

    18. Ooh teddy, Arin is just the picture of adorable in his little suit with knickers, boots and that great cap! Do you make the clothes for him? They do seem to fit his body very well. (7yr body I believe)?

Welcome sweet Penelope! I could just eat her up jane. Congratulations and hope that we'll be seeing more of her. It's nice to know that you like the 5yr body, it seems to work perfectly with the Deogi head. She really has that 'Dollstown' look if that makes any sense.

    19. Arin is so cute in his outfit teddy! Penelope is adorable Jane! Congrats!!

    20. Jane, I just love your Penelope! She's adorable! Teddy, as usual, you rock the house with fabulous clothes for your kids, Arin looks perfect in his tweed suit!

I am wondering if it would make sense to combine the DT Mini and DT Elf threads??? Seems like mostly the same folks visit both threads, but the Elf thread doesn't get bumped up much, and we all chat about the elf body here...does anyone else think it makes sense to see if we can combine the Mini and Elf threads?

    21. Yes I do!
Most of us post there anyway I think, and I find it really disjointed not to be talking about the elfbody in the same breath as the mini DT dolls.
Most of us display an elfbody doll with our mini DT dolls too!
I will be really interested to hear what everyone else says.

And thank you everyone for your welcome to my Penelope :)
I can't stop taking this doll around the house with me at the moment. I will be honest though and say much as I love the smaller body it is nowhere near as ease to pose as the DT7 one, and I do wish it had a torso joint.
But having said that I still think it is utterly delightful

    22. It was a Limited Edition for a Sasha Gregor from www.Ruthdolls.eu a few years back (http://www.ruthsdolls.eu/sasha/le0004.htm). Poor Arin has been wearing it with pleats pinned in at at waist of the britches to stop them siding down, but I finally took a few minutes to sew them in place so he doesn't have to put up with the pins each time he wears it.

Thanks - bu I can't really claim any credit for them - most of Arin's stuff is Sasha/Gregor clothing from Boneka or Ruthsdolls. I realized when I was re-dressing him, last night, that poor Arin has no full-length torusers as a result (Gregor is shorter in the leg). I really must try to get or make him some, poor lad.

I didn't even know there was an elf thread. Seems silly to have 2 if the same people are posting, combining seems liek a good idea, especial if the Elf thread is slow-moving.

      Teddy

    23. I agree that combining the DT mini and Elf threads would be a good idea.

    24. I didn't even know there was an elf thread. Good idea to combine.

    25. We finally had a thaw (after a weekend of heavy snow) so I got a start on Alina's face up. So here is a preliminary - testing wig and eyes. For those that are interested these are 13 mm eyes and on my flickr page is one with 15 mm eyes.

Alina Faceup test by Xiaoli2004, on Flickr
She has no other name yet and I'm still not sure if she will get a 7 yo or elf body - I may end up shuffling them around - perhaps Nathalia will become the elf.

    26. Very pretty - especially with the 15mm eyes.

      Teddy

    27. Oh well done Martha :)

I too like her with the larger eyes, I have put 16mm in my Alina head.
I do like that wig on her too, good luck deciding what size body to give to her.....I still have no idea what size to use for my girl.

    28. Xiaoli, your Alina is gorgeous!

    29. Your Alina is so pretty Xiaoli! What color is her resin? Are her eyes Eyeco or ?

    30. Dollstown creations are absolutely wonderful. I totally enjoy my Momo and Elysia. Must learn to post pics SOON !!!!

    31. Skyezye - She is fresh skin and the eyes in the posted picture are eyeco - forest. The ones on flickr (bigger eyes) are thundercloud by masterpiece.

She's decided she is a 7 yo so has that body. Nathalia (Hannah head) is back on the elf body. Soon there will be some more pictures of her and Calpurnia (mini elysia). They have some children - regency costumes almost completed - just the hand sewing needs to be done.

    32. I think my Alina head will go on the DT7 body too!
And I love the sound of more Regency costumes almost completed -good luck getting the hand sewing done.

And welcome to the thread TEDALLEY :) I am really looking forward to seeing your Momo and Elysia very soon (good luck sorting picture posting) and what size body do you have the dolls on?

    33. Ooooh! I'm looking forward to seeing them - good luck finding time for the finishing off.

      Teddy

    34. I received a no on this request. Evidently the cutoff from Mini to Larger is now 50cm instead of 55cm, although the mods have not changed the cutoff listings here yet. The elf body is 53 cm.

    35. Well I wonder when that cut off height changed?!
But thank you so much for trying to merge the threads Wally.....I really appreciate that you did try ((hugs))
Here is a link to the thread in case for anyone who doesn't have it Dollstown Elf Body Discussion thread

Well my three mini DT girls seem to be getting along fine (Ganga, Deogi and Seola)

I love how delicate and petite this DT 5 body is, but I will say how much more I prefer the DT7 for the way it poses.
Poor Penelope on the DT5 body can't even sit without propping up and she looks so stiff sitting here with the more relaxed DT7 girls.

A friend has shown me how to make the sanding mods on this body so that at least it will be able to sit well.
I intend to start work on shaving away at the resin this weekend!

    36. Jane any links to how to sand the 5 yo body so it sits better would be greatly appreciated. I have heard that it can be done but have been chicken to try it. I love the 5 yo standing and kneeling but would love to have them sit better.

    37. A few years ago when I ordered my 5 body, you were able to ask DT to sand the body for you so that it would sit better. My Ganga never sat as well as a 7, but it helped.

    38. This will be the first time I have ever tried something like this, so I am very scared about going it.
But it has to be done because this body is driving me *nuts* that it won't even sit!

    39. Even though she isn't sitting the way you'd like her to jane, Penelope seems to fit right in with her 7Y sisters. They look to be welcoming her quite warmly, helping her settle in.

On another note, I showed a friend (not a doll person) a lot of your DT girl photos today, showing her the beauty of what can be done with them. She said that your girls (and boy) almost made her want to get one. (BIG from someone who really doesn't 'get it').

Wally, thanks for trying! I would've loved the merge.

    40. Jane, just do it! Be careful, take your time, and it will be fine! I like to dive in head first, dremel in hand, and need to remind myself to just take it easy, but I've rarely messed things up, even with my heavy hand...lol!

Chatting with the mods is always enlightening. I was told they had no plans to merge the threads, and I guess I had the size parameters wrong, as they will be changing them as soon as they have time. I know they are very busy, so I felt bad for bothering them. :x

    41. Thank you for all the encouragement everyone I really appreciate it. And I will be working slowly as I will be so worried about sanding too much away.

And thank you so much Theresa ((hugs)) that was so kind

    42. BWAHAHAHAH!!! And so the indoctrination and recruiting process begins....

      Teddy
(Trustworthy Evil-Bunny of Destiny, Part-time Knave, Creature of Air and darkness, and Hairdresser of Death, apparently)

    43. Here are my girls - Cassiopeia, Nathalia and Calpurnia enjoying a little evening entertainment.

They are all the Torre head sculpts - Alina, Hannah and Mini Elysia.
      Thanks for looking.

    44. Very nice xaioli. Really nice outfits, and the girls all go very well together!

    45. "Sister dresses - how sweet!

      Teddy

    46. Oh gosh Martha they are all so lovely! :D what a lot of work has done into dressing them all like this........I am going to look at the rest of the photos on Flickr now!

And it is lovely to see how all three Torre head sculpts work so well together.
I am hopeless at visualising a head without a face-up and I was so disappointed when I first held Alina in my hand, I see now that I my first impression was totally wrong and I simply can't wait for my girl to get her face-up and return home soon!!!
I really like this head on the DT7 body too!

    47. All the pics in the new thread are wonderful! I've been looking, but haven't had time to comment much. My daughter's wedding was yesterday, so maybe things can get back to normal around here. :)

    48. Opal I am sure everything was a beautiful as it should be on a wedding :D......you will need the dolls to focus on now as life at home must seem very different now ((hugs))

    49. The last time Sarah lived at home was 3+ years ago. So life here hasn't changed, but I always need the dolls to focus on. :)

    50. Me too! ((hugs))

I can't remember if I ever showed this photo from last year, it is of my Susie and Hazel (Ganga and Seola7) and my friend's Rebecca (Mari on the slightly smaller earlier body from the days of DT casting their own dolls)

    51. I don't recall ever seeing that photo, Jane, thanks for sharing! I desperately need to get pics of my girls (Arin, Seola7, Mini-Elysia5, Ganga5 and Momo'brid) to share. :)

    52. Xaoli, LOVE your girls, and the piano is fabulous!

    53. I don't remember that great photo jane, but I do love it! Your friend's Mari is so pretty. She would be the sculpt that I would buy if I were to get another 7YR head.

Congratulations opal! Now for some happy doll play to follow the happy Day.

    54. opal, I'm looking forward to pics of your girls! I don't know about you, but a major event these days for me, is...well...major! Hopefully you'll have some nice 'down time' this week to play with your resin kids!

    55. I have lots to keep me busy. :) I'm working on mohair bears to possibly go into a shop in MD, as well as looking at patterns to alter to fit girls that aren't a 'standard' size. The weather here has been so gloomy, that it's hard to find a day when there's enough light to take pictures. But since we're moving towards spring, hopefully soon I'll have pics to share. :)

    56. Crissy doll patterns are a reasonable sarting point for the 7Year body (and I suspect would be even closer to the Elf body) although they would need narrowing a smidge. Also, for length, patterns for Magic Attic/Carpatina dolls would also be about right (again, they would need narrowing in the body, a bit more than the Crissy paterns would)

Here's a Crissy dress I made (for a Crissy doll, so unaltered in size), modelled by my poor long suffering Arin:

      Teddy

    57. Teddy you are such an 'evil' bunny!!! Poor Arin ((hugs to him)) ;)

    58. Poor Arin, such a stoic, long suffering little chap! But thanks for the picture. :) I have a number of vintage Cissy pattern copies that I'll have to look at!

    59. Cool! You won't even need to hunt down copies to buy then!
