Morgan is so pretty. I love how you styled her.

Frei-I kind of know what you mean about the resin. I ordered my dolls about six months apart and definitely noticed a slight difference in the resin color after just that short amount of time. It was not that big in my case though. The stranger thing was that the resin for one of them is slightly glossy and the other is very matte so the hands I ordered with the second doll look less shiny than the first doll's resin. As such I can't help but thinking of all the spare hands and feet I got as the second doll's rather than shared like I had originally intended. XD

I've noticed a bit of a change in the resin in my KDF dolls as well over the space of a year, and my dolls spend most of their time stored in boxes, so it's not like they've been out in the light a lot. I don't mind too much as long as it's even, but it does make it tricky to get matching parts.

Just for fun, here's a photo of my ghost girl, Magnolia (Aru), sporting her new bunny ears (she died chasing bunnies in the garden when she fell down a newly dug well, so they're appropriate to her character.) She's now haunting and living it up in a Harajuku style pad that she shares with her BFF (who is the only other person who can actually see her.) Boy, has she ever gone through the changes in the past few months! Before she was more serious...but I have another, older ghostly styled doll and thought it was finally time for sweet Magnolia to lighten up and have more fun. She actually seems really happy now.

 

So... I have the chance to get an Elf Ttori girl... which has been on my want list for some time, but I have to wonder with the improvements to the newer body, should I just get a new girl Ttori and have elf ears modded on to her?

I wish I could just upgrade the body, but that would not be an option as different as the skintones would be.

Yes, these photos of the kids are just awesome everyone! I love them so much!

Tonboko, my girl, Magnolia, is on the older body and she poses very well. She's been sueded. Personally, I'd go for the elf Ttori because those ears are so wonderful...and it's a whole lot easier and cheaper to suede a body if needed or even add wiring than to deal with an elf ear mod. But that's just my opinion. Magnolia used to have modded elf ears (she came to me that way.) Another doll I have did as well. But they never quite looked right to me (the texture and skintone is often somewhat different in ear mods.) I wound up removing them on both dolls because they bothered me.

 

Thanks PoeticSoul. I think I may indeed go for it as long as my current ebay sale goes well. Two days left on my sale and I already have over half of what I would need to get her!

Reynardine So cute! Are they supposed to be siblings because they do look a lot alike. My sisters a huge fan of Yuz's and even though she has one of her own now she's always excited to see other pictures of the mold.

Morgan would look super cute as a cowgirl! I made the outfit (hat, scarf, vest, and chaps) for a dollmeet that had a western theme. Otherwise, I never thought of giving him a western look. He normally wears modern or period style clothing.

Just paid my ransom note for my girls (well girl and head lol) and they'll be here tuesday - I hate getting a ransom note on a saturday as it takes so much longer to get your dolls lol

hey guys I have a quick question for you all. I have a friend looking to get her first doll and she's thinking of getting a tan Buzzi but all the tan dolls on Luts site have really brown lips which she doesn't like and so the question is: Would asking Luts to not make the lips too brown in the comments section be enough, or should she pay the extra for a custom face-up? She likes the overall default face-up style, she just wants the lips a little pinker.

 

Yes, he does have little tiny teeth! They're pretty far under the upper lip so his face has to be tilted a certain way to see them, but they're there.

 

Eep, so cute! Nina is such a sweetie! You're making it hard for me to wait for my Nana to get back from face-up! [well technically he is back, but I had him shipped to my parents who live 4 hours away and I can't visit them until the weekend]

 

Your best bet would be to ask them on the Q&A. They may not have an issue with such a minor change, but then again they may insist. It would not hurt to ask and you may be lucky and they will do it for you.


My first MSD is on her way home!! I just got a girl Elf Ttori!!
I'm hoping she will arrive on Thursday so I can spend my day off trying to put together something so she is not completely naked.

 

Darkaen, definitely ask on the Q&A first, but to let you know, I asked for a minor change on my Cherry's faceup (no dots in the corners of her mouth) and they said that was fine without getting a custom faceup. So maybe they will do the same for you. The Luts team seems very accommodating

Congrats FrozenRose, and thank you for the pictures! I recently received my Nana and KDF event head too, but they were blank so it is interesting to see what they would have looked like had I ordered the faceups! Yours are so cute! I just ordered that dress too--we must have similar tastes!

Mrsbeccabear, Abby came out very cute! I have painted and wiped my event head twice already--I love the mold, but she is being unusually difficult, so it is nice to see how other people painted theirs!

 

I have a question. Does anyone have a KDF in brown skin, with a default faceup? I'd like to see the difference in how they do the faceup.

 

Haha, thank you so so much!! But Abby is actually a Kiwi sculpt. The event head does look a lot like the Kiwi though. :P I had trouble with her face-up as well, her lips were very hard to capture. I hope to see more of your girl soon!

Ahahaha, I think the event head must be an elf-eared Kiwi! That makes me feel better though--if anything happens to her, I can just buy a Kiwi.

 

long shot I know but does anyone in here know if the kid delf heads look okay/fit/match with the DC kid bodies? I figure someone's either tried this hybrid or at least has both dolls and could try it lol

 

Anyone got a Salgoo? I love her pictures on the LUTS website but owner pictures always seem to tell better truth of a doll...And I'm falling for resins again. XD

@Arashi- Yay I'm super happy. I love taking pictures of her so I took a bunch. I'll send you a link to them as soon as I have finish sorting through them and have posted them somewhere. I put her in her short wig and slip/tutu thing so you could see the poses a little better. Keep in mind she has the small bust. I'm assuming having the romantic one doesn't make much of a difference since only the breasts look different but maybe someone else who has both can comment on that better than I can? I'm kind of curious myself. XD

 

XD Thanks again for all the pics, they were a joy to look at. I'm gonna likely get mine with the default small bust. XD;; I don't really like big busts on dolls that look so innocent and sweet. Kya I think I realized there's only one problem I have with LUTS...And that is?

THERE'S NO PROBLEM AT ALL! XD Their sculpts are all so perfect I can't find anything wrong which makes me even more determined to own one of my own. ^^
