    2. Ooo shiny new thread! Thanks for the eye photos all :) I've decided to splash out and get all my girls Hand Glass Craft eyes - they look so stunning and vibrant! I think I have finally settled on my little family so it is time to get them all looking perfect ;)

    3. I like the masterpiece soft glass eyes - all my girls wear them. I use the eye putty provided by dollstown and they stay in. They are easy to adjust because you can run thread through the soft part - align them - put in the putty and then pull the thread out. This is Miss Emmy in hers.

    4. Ooh.. a new thread :D

Xiaoli: that is such a sweet picture of your Emmy!

I'll continue the 'pillow talk' from the other thread, because I loved Jane's bed and the gorgeous quilt! Beautiful work.. I can only try to imagine how much time and effort and love is in there :)
The bed is perfect.. I would totally snatch one up if I got the chance, too.

I finished my girls' bed yesterday, and added another side wall to their 'room' as well - with a green print paper cover. I think it matches the other wall in a good though ugly Edwardian way ;)
      The girls are pleased!

And I don't think I can post the picture here, but of course this happened:

    5. Darla and Emilia are becoming best friends. Thought that I would share their love.

    6. I took some new pictures of Momo and wanted to share.

    7. Ohh your Momo is so sweet!! I just had Eloise down to fuss with her outfit, she begged for a photo ;)

    8. I have silicone wig caps for all my girls, I find them essential, especially for the non-elasticated mohair wigs :XD: There are a few ebay sellers doing them at reasonable prices now!

I had a bit of a break from my dolls but I'm sewing like mad at the moment so hoping to start taking more photos too :) I have another Honey Delf on the way who is going to be a little sister for my Hannah (who I renamed Mariah, as the little one is going to be Miette!). Can't wait to get pics of them all together!

    9. Jane - the other thing that I have found helpful for the mohair natural skin wigs - wet the inside - I hold it under the tap and fill it up. Then put it on the dolls head over plastic wrap and let it dry. It conforms to the shape and stays on better after that. I also use a little tacky glue (Alene's in the US) which doesn't hurt the wig or the doll. I like that better than the silicon caps.

    10. Thank you opal & Jane!

Jane-I purchased the new girl from mikkio. She was wearing her lovely dress from Minicouture, purple shoes from Dollheart and face up by RawKiss (Virginia). So, I just fussed with her a bit and here she is.

The screen is a full size screen. It works nicely when I don't want to haul everyone outside!! ;)

    11. Thank you....I didn't recognise her at all, she is so much your girl already. :D
And I am going to have to get Margaret to make some of these beautiful white dresses for my girls, I so like them!

      And that screen is perfect!

    12. WoW! skyeyze I pretty much had the same reaction Jane did.

      Teddy

    13. Thank you Teddy! :)

    14. Congratulations on your new girl, skyeze. What a wonderful lineup of beautifully dressed Sophs. Lucky girl.

    15. Thank you theresa!:)

    16. I wanted to share my newest creation. It is a replica of a 1912 Ladies princess slip. I am part of the 1912 project. (http://vpll1912project.org) which is scanning and digitizing of the patterns and magazines of La Mode Illustree โ€“ once Franceโ€™s foremost publication of fashion of the era and then sending them out to volunteers to try sewing them. This was the first pattern I got to try and I decided to make it elf sized.

The finished project by Xiaoli2004, on Flickr
If you are interested in the process it is on my blog www.merrymeg.com. It was fun to do and I'm happy with the finished product.

    17. Congratulations on your new Hannah xiaoli. She is very pretty and the lovely slip that you made fits her beautifully. Is the bottom of her slip all pleats?
      Love the earrings too.

**followed link to your blog and got the answer to my question!**

Really nice project and beautiful work.

    18. Oh my goodness all that pleating at the bottom of the dress!!! And I hadn't realised that the lace was inserted until I looked at all the photos!
What a fabulous project to be involved in xiaoli :3nodding:

How tricky was it to adjust the pattern to fit the DT elfbody?
And congratulations on your Hannah head.....I like both of the names on the short list so far!

    19. Thanks for your nice comments. The Elf body fit the 1912 pattern very easily - I didn't have to adjust it much at all - just the upper sleeve of the bodice.

    20. Xiaoli- Beautiful creation on your beautiful Hannah!

    21. Hannah and her new dress are just gorgeous! :)

    22. That's very impressive. I doubt I'd have the patience to do all the insertion lace, let alone all the pleats... Your Elf girl is really very lucky.

      Teddy

    23. Another Hannah popping in to say hello ;) I've been trying to make this wig work for someone for months, and today I think Miss M almost has it with a very Helena Bonham Carter-esque look :XD:

    24. Alma I think the wig is working really well :D

And is your Hannah still called Miette?

    25. Actually I renamed her Mariah, and her little sister is going to be Miette ;) I always felt a bit like the name was too cutesy for her, she needed something a little more mature!

A little pic of the girls together with the lollipops I made yesterday... Eloise seems to have them both though, no surprises, she is so spoiled! :D I realised I hardly ever photograph these two together - this needs to change :)

    26. So nice to see activity here. New Pics Yay!

Your Hannah looks so cool with her jet black hair and funky boots, and they are great together, such nice contrast.

Although I don't knit (but would love to), I have wanted knitted dresses for my two 7y girls.
A co-worker does knit, and she is making dresses for them from a lovely pattern from Soudane on Etsy.

Eliana got hers first, and she loves the hearts. So do I.

    27. Love your beautiful dollies Almaxaquotal and theresa!

    28. Thank you I had a feeling that you had renamed her :3nodding:

Oh Theresa I love this knitted dress :D
How clever (and kind) of your co-worker to do this for you, Eliana looks fabulous in her new outfit
I love to see my dolls in knitted items too.
And I really do like that new outfit for Emilia too........I am sorry but I forget, is she on the DT elf body?

    29. Emilia is on the elf body, jane. Eliana and Darla are on the 7yr. Darla is waiting for her dress now.

Thank you both for the nice comments.

    30. I thought she was :)

How are you finding photographing Darla? I still find the paletan really difficult to 'capture' on indoor photos...

    31. jane, I find getting the true color photographing all three of my girls challenging, but Darla's coloring seems to be the hardest to work with. I love her beautiful caramel color, but she turns out 'orangey' in photos, and trying to correct her color tends to make her look a little 'dull'. Sometimes I just get lucky and come close to her actual color. I guess we will just have to keep playing.

One thing I do find is that I love photographing the elf body; the less clothing the better. That body is so beautiful and graceful, looks perfect without clothing.

    32. I agree with you on both counts!
I never do capture the real resin colour of the paletan in indoor photos *_*

I just adore that elfbody so much too.....it is beautiful!!!! :D
And best seen, not covered up!

I would love to get another in freshskin one day, but until I decide what head sculpt I would like with it, that is just on the dream shelf;)

    33. Both Emilia and Eliana are oriental skin, jane, but I would love another DT one day also, and would consider another skin color.
Is your Bindi freshskin? She alwaya seems to photograph beautifully.

    34. Ah my Sorrel (Soph B on the DT elf) is in oriental skin......I like that colour it is easy to photograph....

The pose by Little little mouse, on Flickr

And Bindi is the old DT pinky-white resin, which is suppoesd to be like the new freshskin but in actual fact is an entirely different colour altogether.

    35. Wow, such fun to come in and find pics of beautiful girls! :) Alma, your girls are lovely and each has such a distinctive style. Theresa, love Eliana's little knit dress and Emilia's new dress is so cute too, both girls are very pretty. And Jane, Sorrel is always such a beauty. :)

    36. Thank you for the gorgeous photo of Sorrell, jane. She is beautiful.

      Thanks opal! Glad you like.

    37. Ooooooh, I love your Sorrel Jane!

    38. Theresa 226
I like your new dresses, you've made the great job!

    39. Ok I'd like really honest opinions regarding my new ganga's face up. Does it look too old? Is it too dark on the freshskin? I did it over the weekend but am debating taking it all off and starting again. Thanks!

    40. I love the natural looking eybrows but the lips look like she's wearing lipstick - they're too glossy and a bit too deep a shade to look natural.

      Teddy

    41. Thank you solymar. I love DT girls in anything!

Ganga definitely looks older, xaioli, but so pretty. Agree with Teddy, maybe a tad lighter lip, but I find her bold faceup quite nice.

    42. I thought I would post some pictures as others are doing all the work so I should contribute. This is my DT Momo, faceup by Jay Searle. I showed her once before but now she has a new wig. I really need to get her a new outfit. I am tired of this one. Maybe I will sew her one.

    43. Oh, wow! Both your girls are gorgeous! Not sure I could choose a favorite, I love them both. :)

    44. Xiaoli I would agree with Teddy  what do you think today?

And Shashy how lovely to see your girls :dance and well done on your first face-up, your Ganga is beautiful

    45. Ohh your girls are so cute Shashy... I really need a Momo in my life!!!! :D

    46. shashy, your Ganga and Momo are adorable. I love the blonde hair, and your faceup on Ganga looks great, especially with those eyes.

    47. My Seola has arrived!

I got her yesterday when i finally was able to go to the post office.

Moustique is beautiful, I really love her face, and the 5yr body is beautifully sculpted, love her collarbones...

I have to admit i was a bit surprised by the pale creamy yellow tone of the freshskin, but i guess it. will be perfect once blushed.

I had a hard time fixing the head, but i managed to do it. To be honest I find her head a little small and her body a little massive, but she is my first msd so I don't have any comparisons...

Good surprise : my two msd slim dresses fits her! Since DT mini body are so massive I was worried about dressing her...

Just one question : in the package I got wig velcro and a little cube, would it be soap?

    48. Yah, I sort of miss my Momo. Would love to have one in pale tan.

    49. Congratulations skimo on your Seola. She is such a wonderful sculpt and I am sure you are going to have so much fun with her. My Seola is on the 7yr body, and her head and body fit well. I don't have a 5yr but I'm sure that once you dress her proportion will seem much better. So glad you already have clothes that fit her!

I believe the cube is eye putty, a little gift.

How about some photos of your new sweetie when she's ready please?

    50. Thank you Theresa!

      Eyeputty is usefull gift indeed!

I think I just need to get used to her proportions... But i wouldn't mind seeing her on a slimmer body...

Here she is, with temporary blue eyes yesterday :

And this morning with new grey eyes just arrived and a little friend, i love how she can handle things :)

    51. Congratulations on the arrival of Seola Skimo :D

I love the wig you have given to her

How old did you want your Seola to be
Perhaps you might prefer the DT elfdbody to put her on?
My Seola is on the DT7 body but my friend has hers on the DT5 body and it works just as well.
I think Seola can work with all three smaller body sizes with no problem :)

    52. My Seola is on the 7yo body, but when I first got her, she was a hybrid on a Volks MSD body which is similar in size to the 5yo body. I loved her on both. :) Congrats on your new girl, Skimo.

    53. This is my new girl - Calpurnia.
Calpurnia Tate by Xiaoli2004, on Flickr
Her body finally arrived so she could be complete.

    54. Welcome, Calpurnia! She's wonderful, Xiaoli! :)

    55. Congratulations Xiaoli what size body did you get for her?

And you have quite a large DT resin family now I think :D

    56. Jane - she is on the 7 yo body. It is my favorite for its posing ability - especially after doing the hot glue sueding. Yes my family is getting large. I keep telling myself to stop but I love the dollstown faces. I hope to do a series of portraits soon.
I appreciate comments on Ganga's face up. She will be getting a new face up when I get a quiet afternoon to work on her.

    57. Jane, I haven't planned on a specific age for my Seola, I see her as a little ghost...
I don't really want her to be bigger than she already is... we'll see how we both evolve together.

    58. The more I think about it, the more I am convinced I need a tan DT girl to keep Moustique company...

There is no emergency, but i realize I tend to create characters by pair, and putting my yumi head near Seola, it's evident that I need another DT girl to stay in the same scale.

I wonder between tan and paletan, there are so many gorgeous paletan around... but not so many tan skin, I should look back in the thread, but may I ask if there are more color defect in tan than paletan?

    59. Skimo-here are my pale tan and dark tan Sophs for comparison.

    60. Thanks a lot! They are both lovely... I tend to prefer the darker shade on your picture :)
