Reduce head and put magnets on the lid.

Jan 23, 2011

    1. I hope this is the right place to put the tutorial, if not I apologize for my mistake.
This is my first tutorial, as we usually (always do with my father) did not take pictures, but maybe someone may find it useful to know how to reduce a head. Really what we have done has been to reduce the top of the head. The mold used is a Dikadoll Rena of my property.

Originally the head was as follows:

Material to be used (although missing a couple of things that are in the list):

      -Mask
-Gauge (not shown in the photo) to measure and mark where we must make
-Sierra manual, we have used one for iron
      -Cutter
      l-MetaFiles different grains
      -Sandpaper of different grain
-Drill and drill bit. To make the holes for the magnets
-Cylinders of different thicknesses and milling grain
-Magnets. By reducing the head in this particular model we had to change the subject, you may not need all the heads (not shown either in the photo)
      -Pencil to mark
      -Glue to attach magnets

The first is to measure and mark where to cut, we have measured 0.5 cm
      [IMG]

Using a cutter is marked on the pen to prevent the saw from slipping.

      We started sawing it carefully.

Once finished we have to cut this:

Using sandpaper and files of the various grains polish the cut until it smooth and matched:

The aspect that has to be now more or less is this:

As we have cut serving hooking hooks are going to put some magnets to keep the lid in place.

    2. How to place magnets on the head of the doll? We still model the Rena of Dikadoll.

First mark where they will go pencil magnets
      [IMG]

With a bit boring and half-width mark where the hole needs to be done
      [IMG]

Change the bit for a sanding drum for milling, as we had a width of the magnets we choose a smaller diameter.

With the help of a little cutter enlarges the hole and scrape the dust caked on the bottom of the hole
      [IMG]

It gets to use the wall drill in milling (these steps have to be repeated as often as necessary, this is the slowest part of the process)

We found that the magnets are properly positioned in their holes and adjusted until they are

    3. Now is just glue. As some adhesives are corrosive to the resin first we test the rim of the head that cut before.

Once we have found that glue is the best candidate carefully stick the magnets. Be very careful when pasting no mistake peguemos them so that instead of attracting repel.

Allow the glue to dry and now we have done. Now our head has been as follows:

Hope you feel useful and my very bad English. Thanks to my father, although not going to read this, no he would not have done it ^ _ ^

    4. Thanks for this.
Wonderful tutorial. Does not matter if you know the language or not. Pictures says it all and it is easy to understand how to use it.
It looks much better after. I could probably use this method as well.

    5. very cool, how do wigs fit on the head now thats its smaller?

    6. The problem with the wigs I had before, which almost did not come, now is when you are either the head. It was a gigantic head.
