Personality: Reid is contemplative and quiet, but no one would ever describe him as timid or shy. Some might describe him as 'moody' and 'antisocial' but Reid prefers to think of himself as the kind of person who sometimes needs his own space. He is a former Canadian soldier who was injured in Afghanistan and is now living a civilian life after being honourably discharged from the Canadian Forces. While another person might be angry or bitter about becoming disabled, Reid is really mostly sad about it. His sadness isn't all for his own personal circumstances, but also because of the conflict that sent so many to Afghanistan in the first place. Overall, Reid is not a depressed or pessimistic person. Backstory: Eilam is a powerful Fatebender Mage. When he was just a child his mentor, who was jealous of Eilam's power and potential, challenged him to go to the Abyss in astral form. To go to the Abyss is very difficult and dangerous and many an experienced magic user fail and die in the attempt. Those that make it, sometimes die after seeing the God of the Abyss, Rhas-Khan. Eilam managed to enter Rhas-Khan's private library, something that had never happened before.

Rhas-Khan was surprised and intrigued and looked into Eilam. Within the young boy, Rhas-Khan saw all that Eilam was, is and could be as Rhas-Khan not only is the God of the Abyss, he IS the Abyss. He saw that most of the potential futures for Eilam were of Eilam as his partner and husband and the love of his immortal life. Rhas-Khan sent Eilam home knowing that eventually Eilam would make his way back to him as an adult.

Eilam accepted Rhas-Khan's god-mark, gaining a small measure of Rhas-Khan's power and becoming immortal. Eilam acts as Rhas-Khan's Chamberlain Adept as well as his role as husband. They have a son, Malachite, who is a demi-god born from a geode that was left in their care by a female Phenocrast Giant.
