Elfdoll Corporate Store Feedback Since I just received something from them, I will start with them. What did you order? Larger Boy Body When did you order? August 8th, 2007 How was the communication? Great! As they do not normally sell bodies separately, I had to specially request it. Everything went great. How easy was it to pay? Paypal, no fuss. How long did it take to ship? About three weeks, I received the body on September 4th. Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? With the exception of a tiny bit of flaking on the left knee joint, it looks fabulous. Kasada is thrilled to have a body. Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes, completely. Were you satisfied with the product? Yes. If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A ~Anrui

Not standard feedback, but I felt that Elfdoll deserves the kudos for this: My Catsy (who I got through a US dealer) somehow broke her arm. After sending Elfdoll pictures of the damage, they send me a new part and just billed me for shipping. They even offered that if I was not able to restring her myself that I could ship her to them and they would restring her for me.
What did you order? A standard Lydia (the new body) and two pairs of acrylic eyes. When did you order? May 2nd, 2008 How was the communication? It was good. I asked one question and they got back to me quickly. How easy was it to pay? Paypal is a lot easier to use than you may think as a first timer. How long did it take to ship? Under eight weeks. She shipped on June 24th. Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes!! She looked exactly like what I was expecting!! Only better. Did the item look like the sales pictures? I had a terrible experience with Elfdoll which I described here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4121719#post4121719
* What did you order? Alice Cherry Blossom Qee * When did you order? December 12, 2008 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from Elfdoll. * How was the communication? It started out well when they wrote to confirm my address, but after that they sent me the wrong tracking number. When I told them that my package had been delivered to somewhere in a vastly different state, they told me that they had given me the wrong tracking number and would look into it. I wrote a few emails to the person who had written to me to ask for the tracking number, but never received any response at all. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. * How long did it take to ship? It was supposed to ship 12/15, but didn't ship until 12/26... meaning that this wasn't even close to being here in time to be given as a christmas gift. The unusually long EMS time isn't their fault, but I didn't receive the pig until after New Years. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Most definitely. The quality is great! * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Exactly like them. * Were you satisfied with the product? I was very satisfied with the product - it is a great little pig for a good price. The attention to detail is lovely and the sculpt is just like the BJD Alice. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They didn't. The pig was just shipped and I haven't received any communication from them at all. * Would you order from this company again? Possibly - I think that the shipping issue was abnormal. And though the lack of communication was really frustrating, I don't think it's normal for them. I'd be willing to give them another chance if they had something that I really wanted. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? If there was something I wanted, definitely. I think the product quality is very nice!
Here is my old post from 2008: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265169 Since the new head finally arrived in 2009, I'm re-posting this thread.... * What did you order? Alice Cherry Blossom 5th Ed. * When did you order? September 2008 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from Elfdoll. * How was the communication? Started out great, then turned horrible. They ignored me rather than tell me what was going on. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. * How long did it take to ship? The pig originally took two months to arrive. Then her head was broken and it took Elfdoll another several months to send me a new one. All-in-all I think I waited about 5 months total. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Alice Cherry Blossom is much too expensive. She is an adorable doll, but dolls from other dealers (ie Pipos, Lati, edollfactory) are half as expensive and the quality is better. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Except for the messed-up eyelashes, which is common with Alices. Luckily the second head had good lashes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes. I love my Alice despite everything I went through. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They would never have solved my problem if I hadn't figured out that I needed to talk to Ms. Cholong, their N. American rep. If it hadn't been for her I think I never would have received the head. Ms. Cholong rocks! * Would you order from this company again? No. freaking. way. If I absolutely had to, I would call Ms. Cholong and let her deal with everything, LOL. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes. I would buy Alice items through a reseller or second-hand. Don't deal with Elfdoll.
* What did you order? Twiggy Yumi Version 1 * When did you order? The day she was released * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Since she was a Limited US release I ordered her through Denver Doll * How was the communication? Denver Doll is great to work with * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. Denver Doll makes it painless * How long did it take to ship? I don't have an exact count of days right now but it wasn't long * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? The outfit was very cheap compared to the dress they made for version two, and I received my doll with a bald spot on the upper lip of the open eyed face up. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes * Were you satisfied with the product? No. I sent a picture of the defective face up to DDE so that they could report it and see what could be done about it. I'm not an artist and don't do face ups myself. For the price of the doll which I paid for the face up on the extra head, I shouldn't have gotten an uncomplete face up. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They haven't. Their response to DDE was that they "don't see an issue" with what I am asking to have fixed or replaced. DDE blew up the photo that I sent to them and re-sent the picture to Elfdoll. I have volunteered to send the extra head back to DDE so that they can see for themselves or take a better photo for Elfdoll. * Would you order from this company again? Denver Doll, yes. Elfdoll NO! * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I will not purchase another Elfdoll item ever.
* What did you order? Tiny Kai. * When did you order? September 21, 2009. * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? I ordered through LoneStar Dolls, who is a dealer. * How was the communication? Excellent! * How easy was it to pay? Very easy--I used Paypal. * How long did it take to ship? Kai was in stock, and she shipped the same day! I received her on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Free shipping, too! * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes--she's identical. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes! * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A * Would you order from this company again? Yes! I'm already planning my next Tiny doll purchase! * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes, if I can find one!
* What did you order? Twiggy Yumi Version 1 * When did you order? Not long after she was released (I went on a waiting list and someone pulled out of the sale so I was offered the doll) * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Through Contemporary Artist Dolls * How was the communication? CA Dolls are excellent * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. * How long did it take to ship? 6-8 weeks * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Never received the dress she was supposed to come with but the doll is beautiful * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes * Were you satisfied with the product? Generally yes but disappointed that I received an incomplete set (no dress) * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They haven't. They sent the aweful pink dress from the second set. CA Dolls complained but that is all they would send. I can't PM Ms Cholong as he inbox is full. * Would you order from this company again? CA Doll, yes. Elfdoll NO! * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I will not purchase another Elfdoll item ever.
* What did you order? Elfdoll Rainy Standard Tasha * When did you order? September 30, 2009. * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? I ordered directly through Elfdoll's website. * How was the communication? There was no direct communication aside from automatically generated emails, but since there were no problems with the order whatsoever I didn't have a need for anything more. Their website did a good job of keeping me up to date on the order status. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy, although if you pay directly with a credit card, as I did, you might want to notify your credit card company in advance. Apparently large transactions from Korea are sufficient to trigger fraud suspicion and have your account temporarily frozen. That aside, paying Elfdoll was quick and easy. * How long did it take to ship? I received shipping notification on October 9th, 10 days after I placed the order. I was amazed! She arrived on October 13, so four days shipping overall, including a postal holiday on the 12th. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? The doll is gorgeous and she was packaged very well, and came with eyes, hair, outfit, etc. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yep, minus the faceup, which I did not order. * Were you satisfied with the product? I am extremely satisfied. She is nicely finished, looks amazing pretty much straight out of the box, and has excellent detail. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A. * Would you order from this company again? I had a completely seamless experience, so yes, I would buy from them in a heartbeat. The free shipping makes this doubly appealing. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes, I would, if it was something I wanted.
* What did you order? A blank Tasha head * When did you order? the 16th of November, 2009 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from the company, only option. * How was the communication? Very good, there wasn't any need elaborate communication this time and I was pleased with the basics. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. I paid through Paypal. I also want to note that some how I paid twice by mistake (maybe I double tapped the button) I asked Elfdoll to refund the extra payment and within a few hours they did. * How long did it take to ship? It shipped on December 12th, I recieved it December 16th, I was impressed by both dates! * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes the head price is comparable or less than some others considering how lovely the resin is. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes! (Well perhaps better) * Were you satisfied with the product? Absolutely, this is my first purchase from Elfdoll, the sculpt is phenomenal, the cast is great with no sharp mold lines, the resin is very nice, they sent me a keychain which was a nice surprise, but my biggest surprise is that they sent the head on a lovely bust so I can sit her upright/enjoy and display her until I acquire her body! I'm so pleased! * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? No need I was very satisfied. * Would you order from this company again? Yes, absolutely, without question! * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I probably would!
* What did you order? A blank Aden head and a carry bag. * When did you order? November 19, 2009 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Direct from the company. I guess we don't have a choice now anymore, do we * How was the communication? I had a question on the Q&A board that took two days to get answered, but it wasn't a big deal. It was over a weekend. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. Just went through Paypal. * How long did it take to ship? Exactly three weeks from the order date to ship, then five days in transit to me. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Absolutely! And like the above poster, I also got the head stand. It's not quite as steady as their previous head stands (as my poor, unfortunate K head learned), but it's certainly fine (as is the K's faceup after faceplanting) and good to have. It gives me a way to display the head while he waits for me to be able to afford a body. More companies should think of offering something like this. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Pretty much, only blank. * Were you satisfied with the product? I am very satisfied. He is perfect ^_^ I'm not as thrilled with the carry bag. It's similar to a yoga bag, and I'm not sure how well the strap is going to hold up with extended use, but it's better than cramming the big kids into an MSD-sized carrier. They were all getting kind of sick of that. * Would you order from this company again? Absolutely! * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I have before, and I likely would again.
* What did you order? Three heads: a Reminiscence Tasha, a standard Hazy, and a Reminiscence Hazy. * When did you order? November 16, 2009. * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly through their website. * How was the communication? It was good. I got impatient sometime around the beginning of January and left a post inquiring about the shipping schedule, and Oka responded within two days (over the weekend) and got me an answer right away. She's very friendly and helpful! * How easy was it to pay? Payment was a snap. After the snafu I had with my credit card at my last Elfdoll purchase (my credit card's fault, not theirs), I paid through paypal this time, and it was quick and simple. * How long did it take to ship? Shipping notice came on January 12, 2010, about eight weeks from the date I placed the order. I received the package January 14, so shipping itself was very fast this time around! * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? I think so. Heads don't come with all the little included extras like a full doll, but they did come with head stands (which I did not realize and almost had ordered separately), which was a really nice touch. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? I love them! * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A. * Would you order from this company again? Yes, absolutely. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Sure.

Yes, but I received the magnet type hands instead of the S-hook type. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? I asked on the Q&A board if I received the correct order, because I received magnet type hands and not S-hook type hands and two Qee dolls. I got a reply saying that the S-hook hands were out of stock and it would take too long to recast them, so Elfdoll sent me magnet hands and two Qee dolls as a gift. As the magnet hands came with the S-hook parts I can use them and I don't mind the switch. * Would you order from this company again? Yes. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes.

Update 4-8-10: Oka finally responded that she finally located my payment. My account now shows paid in full. I am very very relieved. I put a Soah on layaway last November. I sent the first two payments and they were placed on my order page. I sent the third and final (large) payment on February 4th. It has never shown up on my account status page. I have verified, through Paypal, that the transaction was completed. I have attempted every means of communication I can think of to find out why the payment was not acknowledged. I finally got a response by posting a query on the layaway board. Oka claims to be unable to find record of the payment. I have since provided the transaction number and a copy of the page from Paypal showing the money went to the correct account and the transaction was completed. I have not had further responses to my emails. I am very unhappy with this situation as more than two months have passed and I have now paid for the doll in full and cannot get this acknowledged. Even if I ever get this transaction resolved I will never purchase from Elfdoll again.
Just a quick note... I ordered a Pink w/faceup toward the end of the ordering period, and there was a Paygate issue. By the time I solved it, it was just a few hours over the end of the order period. I noticed that my order never got *confirmed* and wrote to Oka. She never responded, but I DID get my doll, and I love her!! I am a big fan of Elfdoll, and I would certainly order from them again.
* What did you order? 12 rainy heads * When did you order? 11 - 12 - 2009 (finished layaway at February) * How was the communication? absolutely perfect , helpful & very kind!! * How easy was it to pay? it was a layaway and it was very easy , I used paypal * How long did it take to ship? I am very satisfied with elfdoll but I'm not with myself , I think I should have made a better research before purchased them. It's simply not my type of resin. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? - * Would you order from this company again? I don't know, if I like something yes I'm satisfied with elfdoll but the resin is not my style so for myself I don't think so. ... although I could definitely suggest them to/or place an order for friends who might like this type/feel of resin or -as they talked about bisque creations too in their site- bisque ,but not for myself. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? same as above, plus they have to be in a good condition

Oka replied my questions within 3 days and was very polite. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy! * How long did it take to ship? Around 2 weeks. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Definitely, even though the resin was somewhat shiny, but some light magic-sponging and MSC took care of that! I even got a headstand that came assembled with the head and I didn't even have to pay for it. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Very much so. I didn't know he had lip lines carved in, though! * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes! Even though the first time they shipped the package out, I got a reminisce Aden head instead of a reminisce K head. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? I immediately contacted Elfdoll and Oka assured me that my K head would be shipped as soon as they're ready. The next week, he was here already! Oka didn't mention anything about the Aden head so I guess I got to keep it? * Would you order from this company again? Most definitely! Definitely, this is my second order with Elfdoll and both experiences were good ones * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes

I paid it off on total 10/18. * How was the communication? Satisfactory. My questions were always answered in a timely manner. * How easy was it to pay? Yes, very easy to send payments using Paypal. They were not listed as such at any time between me placing the order or receiving the order, nor are they listed as out of stock at time of writing this, so I am a little miffed about that and not sure what's going on there. I have not contacted the company about this, perhaps I will place another order at another time and hopefully receive the hands. * Would you order from this company again? Not sure, probably Yes. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes.

The resin was supposed to be REAL, but was actually NORMAL. Oka said that the feet were REAL, but she also told me that the Elfdoll feet that come with shoes attached only come in NORMAL skin. The feet I received were the same color as the feet with shoes I bought last year. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes, but my Hazy has white feet that need to be covered in tights. * Were you satisfied with the product? No, the color was so off that I asked to return them. Oka said it was my problem. I raised a stink, posting complaints all over their website. Oka gave me a refund. The feet cost well over $30 US after shipping. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? Yes, after I raised a stink. Too bad, this sort of behavior will not help the company. * Would you order from this company again? No. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I will only buy Elfdolls second hand.
Just wanted to say how wonderful Elfdoll are, I bought my Hazy head first then her body at a later date, they are a great company to buy from and I hope to buy another one soon
* What did you order? A Lovely Doll body * When did you order? In October, 2010 * How was the communication? Outstanding. When I explained that I wanted the body to go with me extra faceplate from the Twiggy Yumi, Elfdoll not only included the back of the head, but offered to do the same body color as I had. * How easy was it to pay? simple, Paypal * How long did it take to ship? for my custom skin tone, two months * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes * Were you satisfied with the product? Very much so. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A * Would you order from this company again? Already have ordered multiple times. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Already have.
* What did you order? Lovely Dami * When did you order? September 2010 * How was the communication? Good, could have been a bit faster though. * How easy was it to pay? Very Easy * How long did it take to ship? 45 days after my last layaway payment * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes * Would you order from this company again? Yes * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes
*What did you order? Elfdoll Dami doll, Dami Dreaming FP, and Wu Head * When did you order? Sept. 2010 * How was the communication? Great, fast. * How easy was it to pay? Easy, PayPal. * How long did it take to ship? Paid via layaway, after I paid in full my items shipped only a few weeks after, I was surprised it was so quick. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? The sculpts are wonderful, but the Dami Face-plates are a different color resin than the body!!! They totally don't match! Edit: see below update! * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. Aside from the different resins. Edit: see below update! * Were you satisfied with the product? No. How can they ship a doll that has resin parts that don't match? Edit: see below update! * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? Still working on that. EDIT: Elfdoll requested pictures of the mismatched resins, which I sent only pictures of the OE face-plate (silly I know). They then refunded me $70 AND informed me that the face-plates are out of stock but once new ones are made it will be shipped to me. I hope I can get both face-plates replaced; I don't see why not. I am thoroughly impressed! * Would you order from this company again? To be honest the sculpts are so wonderful - but knowing that the resin might not match? Geh, I don't know. (please see above edit) * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes. EDIT: Elfdoll is AMAZING!!!!!
* What did you order? Lovely Yumi * When did you order? Feb.11, 2011 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly * How was the communication? Fine * How easy was it to pay? Easy, through Paypal * How long did it take to ship? Received March 12, so only one month * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Very much so * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Even better * Were you satisfied with the product? Absolutely * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? There were no problems * Would you order from this company again? Yes, I'm a repeat customer * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes
* What did you order? Eun-a * When did you order? Jan.11, 2011 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly * How was the communication? Very good. I had an internet problem just as the payment was sent, so I contacted them on their Q&A to make sure the payment went through. They answered in a prompt and friendly way. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy * How long did it take to ship? Delivered March 25, so 6 weeks * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? I was blown away by the quality. The faceup was beautiful, resin nice, seams sanded, the body very solid and good posing. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Better! * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes! * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? There were no problems. * Would you order from this company again? Definitely. Already planning my next order. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes.
What did you order? Lovely Amy. * When did you order? January 2nd 2011 * How was the communication? Great. * How easy was it to pay? Easy with PayPal. * How long did it take to ship? Shipped on 22th of February, arrived about 2 weeks later (due to customs delay). * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes, the quality is great! * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Very. * Would you order from this company again? Yes, I am planning to. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes, depends on the condition of the item.
What did you order? Eun-a in girl skin with faceup #3 * When did you order? May 30, 2011 * How was the communication? Not sure - I had a problem and I couldn't access the answer, so I sent another question and did get answer. They requested a pic of the problem, which I sent and have not received an answer to that yet. * How easy was it to pay? Easy * How long did it take to ship? Shipped on June 16th, so very quick. SORRY THIS SHOULD HAVE SAID JUNE 16TH. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes * Did the item look like the sales pictures? No - they sent me the wrong faceup, so she didn't look like what I ordered and I have seen owner pictures of her on DOA, so I know what she is supposed to look like. * Were you satisfied with the product? Not so much right now. * Would you order from this company again? Not sure - depends how or if they solve this problem * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes, probably Edit: Well, Elfdoll really came through. I got a reply stating that they were going to replace the head with one with the proper faceup on June 27th. I was really pleased about that. But I was even more happy when the new head arrived the same week as I was told they were going to send it. I'm really happy with their decision and finally have the girl that I ordered completed on June 30th. So even with the problem, that wait was still only 1 month. Excellent.
Okay! Here goes nuthin'. What did you order? Rainydoll Wu head. When did you order? 5/29/11. Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from the company~ How was the communication? I was always informed. Had smooth transaction; basic communication was perfect. How easy was it to pay? Paypal - a baby could do it. How long did it take to ship? 6/21/11 - Just over three weeks Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? YES! Although, I have a small problem with head magnets that keep coming out. The glue probably came out when I washed the head to do his faceup. Otherwise no problems with it at all. Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yep. Even better! Were you satisfied with the product? Absolutely. If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? - Would you order from this company again? Yes! Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I would. Overall, Elfdoll is a breeze to work with. I highly recommend their business~
* What did you order? Tinydoll Kai, outfit, eyes * When did you order? June 5, 2011 * How was the communication? Not very good. It takes a while for them to respond to anything * How easy was it to pay? Very easy via Paypal * How long did it take to ship? Finished my final layaway payment on Aug 31, 2011 and heard nothing from them about it for 3 weeks. After numerous attempts of contacting them, my Kai was finally shipped and arrived on Sept 30, 2011. (more details below) * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? This is complicated. I expected the complete package at $270 and in the end got a $240 doll. (more details below) * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Sorta. Didn't get everything I was expecting from the package. * Were you satisfied with the product? I'm satisfied with the doll as it is. She is very beautifully made. I'm not too happy with the process. This order didn't come without problems. During my layaway, they changed the package items of the doll to only include the doll only without the wig and the outfit. The price of the package was dropped to $240 as a result, but I was still charged the original $270 for just the doll only. In addition, they did not include the outfit I ordered, but stuck in two free gifts, probably as a substitute. I do appreciate the gifts, but I would have preferred that they let me know about the outfit being out of stock instead of assuming that a free gift would be enough (I really wanted that outfit). I get that things change and I can totally understand the mishap with the price and package changing for the TinyDolls, but it's still disappointing nonetheless. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? I contacted them about the missing items and the extra charge and they responded in 4 days and "refunded" me for the missing items (by sending the money through PayPal as a separate transaction, and not an actual refund, so I was charged $2.50 in transaction fees for the "refund" by PayPal. Not a big deal, but kind of like throwing salt in the wound). It's not a perfectly resolved situation, and I'm not 100% happy, but at least it was resolved. * Would you order from this company again? Definitely not via layaway ever. Maybe as a single order, but I wouldn't be able to afford huge lump sums sadly. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes, if it's a good enough deal.
* What did you order? Three blank Rainy girl heads from the end-of-year "yellowed stock" sale. * When did you order? November 26, 2011 * How was the communication? Good. Received emails to confirm the order and to notify of shipping. (Emails did end up in my spam box, but that's the fault of my email service, not Elfdoll). * How easy was it to pay? Very easy, Paypal. * How long did it take to ship? Shipped on December 5th. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Very much so, considering that the end-of-year sale had very low prices. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes. The dolls are beautiful, and if they are yellowed, it is only a very little. I do not have any other new Elfdoll resin to compare them to, but they are not noticeably yellowed in any way. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? n/a * Would you order from this company again? Yes. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes.
* What did you order? A Soah on Pinup body, plus three heads and some extra hands and feet. * When did you order? October 5th, 2011 * How was the communication? Good enough, received email confirmation of everything and generally got answers from the Q&A board within 3 to 5 days. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy, Paypal. * How long did it take to ship? Shipped on December 5th. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Definitely. Soah is very loosely strung which was likely to protect her in transit. All three heads come very very close to matching the body. (Resin mismatching happens pretty often with Elfdoll from what I've heard.) Two of the heads were from the "yellowed" sale and they are both perfect. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Definitely. The resin was extremely shiny but that's not really an issue. No seamlines whatsoever, anywhere. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? n/a * Would you order from this company again? Definitely. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes.
* What did you order? Won, Aden, Hazy and Lydia heads on their closeout event. * When did you order? Nov. 26, 2011 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly. * How was the communication? Very good. Elfdoll doesn't mail out shipping notifications, but the site updated promptly, and they were quick to answer a question I posted on the Q&A. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy through Paypal. * How long did it take to ship? Received Dec. 9, 2011, so two weeks. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Very much so! Although Elfdoll was selling these heads as "yellowed stock", they seem to be in perfect condition with no yellowing. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes, very happy with the heads and service. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A * Would you order from this company again? Definitely. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes.
FINAL EDIT, 1-26-2012 I ~ L O V E~ Elfdoll. Their dolls, their people, and their service. Mine is a very happy ending story. Got my LovelyDoll with her two faces today. She was my second winter order just a few days after a huge order and their stories were tied together so I'm posting it here. Everything perfect and little extras on top. * What did you order? 1st order was over $1,200 = a LOT of stuff! During the year end sale 2nd order was $412.92 = Lovely doll with Yumi and Dami faces * When did you order? November 27,2011 ... ...and again on December 28, 2011 * How was the communication? I am becoming concerned. I reported the missing items immediately-- when first order was received. My email was on Dec. 24, and answer was timely...received on Dec. 26 -- BUT IT WAS NO HELP. I received this response: "Okay, I'll check with the production team. Hugs, Oka I've written about this several more times with no answers. Quick response to my second order, but completely ignored my questions about the first order. * How easy was it to pay? Paypal. * How long did it take to ship? First order was quick enough, but NOT COMPLETE. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Some of it was from the "yellowed" sale, but they are OK. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Definitely. I JUST WANT THE REST OF WHAT I PAID FOR. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They refunded money [$35] for one head that was missing, but these other more expensive items are being ignored. Missing items equal about $350. I know they are busy. ***--> I just need a message FROM them saying ~ that {we're swamped...whatever...} and that they will get to me when they can <-- I would feel better. Being ignored, after their one response message that did not apologize or confirm anything about my missing items has caused me some worry,,, * Would you order from this company again? Right now, doubtful, even though I am a "GOLD MEMBER" with them. I HOPE to order from them again, but it depends on how this all works out. I WILL EDIT WHEN I HAVE MORE INFO FOR HOW IT IS SETTLED. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes. Beautiful dolls. I am more disappointed at the prospect that I will never receive the dolls that I haven't gotten, than losing the money. Though I wish I had the money if the dolls are gone. There are other GREAT Doll Companies. 2011 was my first year as a collector of BJD. Maybe I am over reacting? It concerns me that the Elfdoll site shows every last thing as sold out, currently. Maybe they are just catching up with that year end grand sale. Should I relax and trust they are going to get to me? I checked out this thread before sending my second order for the Lovely Dolls. No complaints or concerns were being expressed. So, I'm not sure how to react. EDIT ON 1/13/2012 I heard from them. There has been a long Korean holiday. I did begin a Paypal complaint process because my time [45 day limit to bring up an issue] is almost over. I hope I will receive missing items soon. Sounds like they did a thorough check through the huge order I made and have collected all items missing. I was sad to start a formal process and I will be very happy if all can be smoothed out in the end. I did miss some notes from them, evidently, which might have kept me from filing the incomplete shipment complaint with Paypal. But still, in 2 days I would not have had the opportunity to bring that pressure to get everything settled. And I don't have the dolls yet, just a promise they are on the way. Plus calming words from Oka which I appreciated. I still don't know if I over-reacted, but I can {and will} set everything right for them if I did. EDIT: By 1/18/12 ~ All is well. They had a long holiday which was why I was not getting answers back to my messages. And that caused my alarm. They were exceptionally precise with getting every item to me. That was a very complicated order of well over $1,000 and lots of small things as well as full dolls. Any item they could not send to me in perfect condition they refunded the money. They also sent some nice gifts of apology. I was getting somewhat harsh toward the end, so that was extra kind and polite of them. *****I will definitely buy from them again!! I already have a LovelyDoll with Yumi and Dami faces on order. R E L I A B L E ~ C O M P A N Y in my opinion. ~Already knew they have beautiful sculpts. Looking forward to seeing what they will show us in March 2012.
* What did you order? A Rainy Yuan on Pinup body. (Normal Skin w/Faceup No2) * When did you order? November 24th, 2011 * How was the communication? By the time it was all said and done with, the first Q&A message was responded to fairly quickly. The last 6 took them a 2-5 days to respond to. Most of the answers / information I received was very vague or contradictory. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy, Paypal. * How long did it take to ship? Honestly I have no idea, they told me she was shipped at three different time for three different reasons of waiting. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes, she is a marvelous doll! I'm not unhappy with the product at all. The only thing I will do is sued her neck some and restring her. (Restringing seems very popular with the Elfdoll bodies I've noticed). * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes I'm very pleased with the doll itself. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? The part I wasn't satisfied with was not the product, but the service. * Would you order from this company again? Nope. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Sure? * Other comments? I had major issues getting a straight answer and at points I was lied to. Possibly not intentionally, but none the less it was done. I given three different shipping dates, earliest being Dec 15th 2011 - I received my doll January 6th, 2012. They told me the first ship date failure was due to a refund of hands that were duplicated in ordering (I wasn't sure if fist hands came with or not). Which was fine, but near January 1st I received a notification from them saying they had to refund me for the lipstick hands because they were no longer in stock - she had already been shipped - so they waited to tell me this, I didn't get the hands I ordered, and obviously refunds don't stop them from shipping dolls out so why did they tell me that the first time around?! - Long Rant Short I went through many contradictory messages and some that were ignored, I had some that said they would 'quickly check' for the answer and then never got back to me... I do realize that I ordered my BJD near the Holidays, which is fine. I understand a company getting backed up, my issue was that they told me a certain date that they did not meet... three different times. Don't lie and tell me this when I'd be fine if you just told me that you were backed up.
What did you order? Lovely Dami O/E When did you order? 27th of January, 2011 How was the communication? Awful. It took them two months to send out my item, and I only heard from them once. It was sent back to them because of soe problems with my post office and they never sent it back to me. I wrote them a lot, and they said they would check with the production team, but I never heard anything from them, they said the same when I wrote them last week, a YEAR after I ordered my Dami, and I haven't heard from them yet. So I never received her OR my money back. How easy was it to pay? Easy, paypal. How long did it take to ship? Two months, and after she was sent back, one year, and still waiting! Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? N/A Did the item look like the sales pictures? N/A Were you satisfied with the product? N/A If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A
What did you order? Several items of Lovelydoll and Rainydoll clothing and shoes. There was no indication on Elfdoll's site of any lengthy wait time for the clothing and shoes. I would have expected to wait for a doll, but based on my experience with other companies, I thought this order of small items would probably be processed and shipped within a few weeks (if not sooner). When did you order? Early February, 2012 (the order was eventually cancelled, so I don't have the exact date any more) How was the communication? Appalling. Elfdoll never acknowledged receiving my order, never updated my order status on the site, and never replied to my Q&A board message until I opened a Paypal dispute just before the 45-day deadline. About a week after I opened the dispute (~55 days after my order and payment), Elfdoll did finally reply to me through the Q&A board. The reply still didn't acknowledge that Elfdoll had my money, even though I had Paypal's proof that the payment was completed. It seemed strange to me that Elfdoll hadn't cancelled my order for non-payment, if for some reason they truly didn't notice that my payment arrived (even though I DID include the order number with the payment). Instead, it seemed that Elfdoll took the money but ignored the order . . . then acted as if they didn't know they had the money OR the order. At the point all of this crystallized in my mind (about ten days after I opened the Paypal dispute, or nearly 70 days after my original order and payment), I decided to cancel my order instead of waiting or arguing. Elfdoll eventually refunded my payment, after several more days' delay. How easy was it to pay? Easy by Paypal. How long did it take to ship? Never shipped. I cancelled the order after nine weeks. Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? N/A Did the item look like the sales pictures? N/A Were you satisfied with the product? N/A If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? Elfdoll did refund my payment in the end, after I opened a Paypal dispute. This was my first attempt at ordering from Elfdoll (after all these years!), and I was disappointed that such a well-established dollmaker would be so unresponsive and unreliable to deal with. I had always admired Elfdoll's work, and looked forward to ordering from the company someday, but . . . I don't think I'll try it again.
* What did you order? [Rainy] Yuan head in Normal Skin * When did you order? May, 27, 2012 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from the company. * How was the communication? I didn't receive an order conformation, which I would have liked to have. The order information is listed in the account information and most people seem to post in the FAQ section to get extra verification which I did and got a reply. I received an email telling me it had shipped, though. * How easy was it to pay? Easy, I used paypal. However, because of the lack of conformation email or even an informal invoice, it seemed a little weird. Posting in their FAQ section and receiving a quick answer alleviated most of my worry. * How long did it take to ship? I got the shipping conformation email on June 11th, and the package arrived June 15th. Much faster than I had ever expected! * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes. $100 plus shipping is pretty reasonable, and while there is some thinness in the resin, overall the head looks great! * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yep! * Were you satisfied with the product? Like I mentioned before, there is some thinness. The eye wells seem a little thin, and the left side of the mouth is thin as well, but nothing I'm overly concerned about. Of course you want what you buy to be 100% perfect, and when its not its a little disappointing, but its not anything that would lead me to be dissatisfied. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A * Would you order from this company again? If the occasion arose, sure. But it depends more on their products and less on their customer service. While their process was a little awkward for me, everything went very smoothly and I had no problems. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes, as long as it was well cared for.
* What did you order? [Rainy] Yuan head in Snow Skin, a miniature laptop and 3 wigs. * When did you order? 10/24 2012 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? From the company. * How was the communication? Depends ... my order status on the page updated fast enough, I'm still waiting for one answer on the Q&A**. I knew not to expect an order confirmation / invoice, so I just sent the money and got a shipping notification a mere week later. I had a question before ordering and it took a week until I got an answer. **Got the reply today. All in all, communication appears slow but steady. * How easy was it to pay? Paypal, so - very easy. * How long did it take to ship? I received the shipping notification on 11/08 and the package came in today (11/14). * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? I guess so, even though I can't really tell yet (this is the first doll (head) I ever saw in person). * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes, Yuan is lovely. But ... * Were there any missing or broken items in your order? ... one of the three wigs I ordered is missing. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? ** I left a note in their Q&A section about the missing wig. I hope to hear from them soon. I got a refund today. * Would you order from this company again? Probably, if it was a nice sculpt. It depends on how the "missing item" thing turns out, though. I'll update here as soon as they reply. I would not bank on all listed items actually being in stock - I wasn't notified that one of the wigs I ordered was out of stock, they just sent the other items. So I probably would not order very important things without making sure they were definitely available. This does not concern doll orders, just accessoires. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I guess I would, if I really liked the sculpt.
What did you order? Lovely Yumi and Dami complete dolls When did you order? December 08, 2012 How was the communication? Elfdolll answer questions every week, sometimes slow but quite stable. How easy was it to pay? Paypal, no fuss. How long did it take to ship? 56 days after my payment, they shipped it out. EMS takes 4 days to arrive my country. Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Great Did the item look like the sales pictures? Great Were you satisfied with the product? Indeed If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? NA
• What did you order? …Tinydoll "Hiro, " outfits and extra feet (shoe) parts. • When did you order? …October 22, 2012 • How was the communication? …Not Good: Two days after I ordered I still had not received a bill from PayPal, so I sent payment, anyway. That was probably a mistake, but I wanted to get my payment in while the order-period was still active. • How easy was it to pay? …Paypal – And in the area marked "Messages" I made sure to include an itemized list of what I was ordering along with all of the catalog numbers. • How long did it take to ship? …At the time of this post, I still have not received any of my order. • Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? …I have other Elfdoll products, and I have been very happy with them. • Did the item look like the sales pictures? …They always have in the past. • Were you satisfied with the product? …N/A • If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? …When I input my order number, I get the message of "Payment Received"; It has been that way since December. I have sent eMails from my computer to "Oka" (?) at their customer service address, but have yet to receive a response. I can't ask a question at their website directly because my password doesn't seem to work any more. • In Conclusion: …I understand that the world economy is tough right now, and that companies that offer "luxury services" have to be extra competitive. However: It worries me that Elfdoll has just wrapped up another order period (which included tinydolls) without having fulfilled all of he requests from the previous session. From now on, if Elfdoll has any new products that interest me I will only buy through authorized dealers who, in theory, should have a better relationship with their vendor, or through the secondary market. Otherwise: I will conclude all dealings with Elfdoll.

Update: My Hiro order and clothes finally arrived in Late March/early April 2013.

It shipped on 1/24/13 and arrived on 1/30/13. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes! She is gorgeous! * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Nope/ * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A * Would you order from this company again? YES! * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? YES!
* What did you order? 13 items, including various clothes, shoes, accessories, and resin parts. * When did you order? 8/Jan/2013 * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from the company. * How was the communication? Order process was straight forward. When the order took longer than 6 weeks, I prompted them on their message board. I'm still confused why I am prompted to enter an email address on their message board when submitting a question, but when they respond there is no email. I'm forced to check the message board daily to find if there is a response to my query. After finding a response, was advised 10 days, and that they were waiting on two items. After waiting 14 days, I prompted them again, to be informed it would ship that week, which turned out 3 days later on the Thursday. Understandably, ElfDoll did post on their site during this period an apology regarding their casting team, and have since hired a new casting team to improve their production. As I had two resin parts in my order, it was delayed solely because of that. (The two items that they were waiting on were the 2 resin parts in my order). * How easy was it to pay? Paypal. Have used it every time I ordered from them without issue. * How long did it take to ship? 72 days from order to Shipping notification (Item lodgement date as per the EMS tracking) 6 days to arrive. (Customs were a little slow) * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Yes. * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Most of the items but one were accurate and as expected. The one exception looked a little faded in comparison to the photo. Item photo and description list it as 'Pink', but the item looks very washed out IRL. * Were you satisfied with the product? Yes. * Were there any missing or broken items in your order? None. Everything that I ordered was present and perfect condition. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A * Would you order from this company again? Yes. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes.
* What did you order? Elfdoll Rainy Rita with Pin up body and face up #1, extra hand joints, fist hands and camera hands. * When did you order? June 9th * How was the communication? Pretty good. They answered my questions within a day or two usually and tried very hard to respond correctly to my questions. However, I was only informed the day they shipped her that they couldn't or wouldn't be making the camera hands I ordered and they sent me a refund for the price of them. * How easy was it to pay? Easy as anything. I set up a very short layaway and paid the majority on the 9th of June via paypal and the remaining balance on the 13th of June, again straight through paypal with no problems. * How long did it take to ship? 7 weeks from time of order to when she was sent to me, but only 7 days from date of shipping to when she arrived to me. * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Absolutely! The quality is perfect! * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yep, she looks exactly like them! * Were you satisfied with the product? Absolutely. She poses like a dream, looks just as perfect as the site images, her resin is wonderful and her seams were all sanded, I couldn't ask for a better product. Elfdoll even sent me TWO dresses and a belt which I did not order as free gifts and even though I technically bought the head and body separate and not as a full doll, I still received fist hands AND normal rainy hands with my doll so I ended up with more than I bargained for. I'm more than pleased! XD * Were there any missing or broken items in your order? Nope, all items present and accounted for and in perfect condition. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A * Would you order from this company again? Most definitely. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes, definitely.
* What did you order? A Rita head, Normal Skin, Make up #1 and then added to the order a blank WS Eun-A * When did you order? November 9, 2013 (Rita) and December 10, 2013 (Eun-A) * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from Elfdoll. * How was the communication? Pretty good, whenever I asked something through their Q&A they soon replied me, the only thing I didn't like, is that usually their answers were too shallow and uncomplete. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. * How long did it take to ship? Not long. I got my shipping notice on December 15 and received the heads on Dec 20. Considering that Eun-A was ordered on Dec 10, they were pretty fast ^^ * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Sure! And Rita make up is amazing!!! * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Absolutely! * Were you satisfied with the product? Very satisfied. * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? N/A. * Would you order from this company again? Yes. * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? I once did, but just because the item wasn't available on the official site at that very moment. Then, if the second-hand price is very convenient (and the item in good condition) it's fine, otherwise I prefer buying directly from the company.
* What did you order? Soah smiling full doll and Yuan full doll, doll heads of the event * When did you order? 2013-03-10 I did a layaway plan, I paid until Oct 3, 2013 (the last payment to complete the order) Did other order in November paid full ( the heads discount event of the end of the year) * Did you order directly from the company, or through a distributor or dealer? Directly from Elfdoll. * How was the communication? Very bad, they take much time to reply the messages of the Q&A, they lied me about the status of my orders (send email with wrong information) because is not complete and they shipped the things when they wanted without give me any information about this. I have the emails to prove this. Today I still waiting the second part ( THE YUAN DOLL) of my order that they said me that I recived and that is not true. * How easy was it to pay? Very easy. * How long did it take to ship? Since the six weeks after 3 of october, 23 of December arrived the first part of my order and the second until now...waiting.. I am still waiting my YUAN doll..and don´t have any news of her * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? Well, the resin tone of my doll is a few yellowed than the doll head, magnets of the hands detached because are not glued well, untensioned... * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes, sometimes * Were you satisfied with the product? No...I feel wholly dissatisfied * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They still not solve my problem, only give me messages to give me some excuses and any solution... * Would you order from this company again? Never...they disappoint me a lot as a company, and this is a shame because I adore their molds...I did not expected that they acted like this...I feel so sad for that situation too... * Would you buy this company's products second-hand? Yes of course, if the treatment is better than this company?....why not? and well..if the price is reasonable. 08/01/2014 - I am still waiting that this company will send me the part of my order (The YUAN full doll) that I don´t have, because is not complete and I feel completely deceived...the full doll of Yuan...They send me excuses, I want my doll instead excuses...and not give me any solution yet.
Latest news on Elfdoll Customer Service: As of January 2014 Elfdoll has removed all of their Tiny Dolls, clothing & accessories from their website, altogether. The only remaining dolls are the "Sissy Seedling" dolls in the "Sale" section. Also: Elfdoll has never been good about customer service and prompt eMail replies, but over the last few months they seem to have stopped communication altogether! They don't even seem to be honoring past commitments: They promised a friend of mine (WinterMonkey here on DoA), to send an extra pair of shoes which they'd left out of a previous order, and nothing has arrived to her. They also agreed to replace the set of open-hands for my Hiro. Again: no package & no response. I don't think that there is anything anybody can do at this point. I hate to give up on a company entirely, but that is the only course of action that seems available to me. …I guess I just needed to "vent"! Thank you to anyone who bothered to read this!
