In other words, they did nothing to solve my problem and I had to suck it up and continue to check out the one remaining of that item.

I usually don't leave feedback for Volks but will do so this time because the service team helped me track and resolve a shipping problem. Somewhere along the way, my postal code was logged wrongly although it was correctly written on the mailing label. The EMI package was held in Mississauga postal facility for 3-4 weeks. Canada Post did not allow me to let me resolve the problem and insisted that the sender make an inquiry about the problem through USPS. Volks USA (the sender) filed a research and took the trouble call USPS regarding this matter. The problem was resolved and the parcel finally arrived safely. I'm very impressed with the trouble and effort taken by Volks staff.

* What did you order? A MSD "Hisui" Assembly kit, extra wig, pair of stockings, two stringing tools and extra string, wig caps
* When did you order? In the summer of 2009
* How was the communication? Good. I was still a new doll owner back then so I probably didn't ask all the questions that I should have, but what I did ask them in my first email they replied very promptly and politely.
* How easy was it to pay? Very easy.
* How long did it take to ship? I'm going to say it took around 1 1/2 months to 2 months.
* Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? No.I ended up (for all the items, which there weren't many of) paying to the tune of $800 which what should have only stayed around the $650 bracket with taxes and such. The customs bill was HUGE! I enjoyed the doll, what it came with, and etc. However, the stringing hole inside one of her legs was CLOSED. I had to take a very small screwdriver and stab it open enough so I could get the string through (without damaging the doll). I did not think to report this until MUCH later (2 years). It was too late then.
* Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes and no. I had thought she would come with the face-up, however nowhere on her particular page was it noted that she wasn't going to come with one. I also thought that she would come with the underwear shown in the picture. Although this was partially my fault for being a new doll owner and not knowing how to ask these questions and know about these sorts of things. Without her face-up the doll's head looked VERY different to me than the pictures, leaving me a little disappointed with the sculpt.
* Were you satisfied with the product? Overall I was overjoyed since it was my very first doll. I was a little ignorant and naieve about certain things that I ended up not asking questions about or overlooking. On the whole, the company didn't make mistakes (except that leg thing). I did.
* If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They have not. I never ended up reporting anything (I didn't know that I could/should until a long time after). I had to fix her leg myself (without damaging her), as well as I bought her a new head to replace the head that I was displeased with.
* Would you order from this company again? Perhaps. This is a big maybe for me. I really enjoyed the quality of their dolls, but I felt the selection was a little lacking. I am more knowledgeable of owning a doll now, so I know not to make the same mistakes (and have not repeated those mistakes with my 2nd doll I've purchased that JUST shipped). I would order from them again, but I would be sure to ask questions this time, and lots of them. The customs was BEASTLY though ($150).

I received an automated notice when my order was placed, and another notice when my order was shipped. I did not need to contact the company directly with any questions or concerns.

My order shipped in 2 days--Monday, April 25, 2011. It was delivered on Friday, April 29, 2011.

* Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
Yes, it was. I was also very happy about the shipping costs that I was charged. I ordered a very large item--a doll carrier--and the shipping was under $20.

* Did the item look like the sales pictures?
The carrying case looks very similar to the sales pictures, but there's a depth of colour to the tweed that doesn't show as well in the pictures. The tweed is comprised of several different strands of coloured thread, and there are many subtleties in the overall look of the material. I think that the strong lighting in the item's pictures wash out some of the colours; they appear more noticeable in real life.
The MSD shoes look identical to the sales pictures.

* Were you satisfied with the product?
I am very satisfied. The doll bag is well-constructed and very beautiful. The tweed is absolutely gorgeous in person, and the antique gold hardware accents the pinkish cast of the tweed and the coordinating plum-ish brown straps and zipper. The case is very roomy. I can easily fit both my SD and my MSD inside with extra space. I think it might even be possible to fit two SDs together, but I'd need to borrow a friend's doll to test my hypothesis. The pockets inside of the case are very useful, too. One thing that I really appreciate is that there are two slides to adjust the shoulder strap. This keeps the shoulder strap's padding centered on the strap, and allows for very even readjustment of the strap.
The shoes are darling and very well made. I don't have any complaints!

Saying that I was really impressed would be an understatement. Even with the customs bill I still feel like it was a good deal. Kun is perfect and the clip holder is very sturdy.

SDG Kun looks even better in person than in the sales pictures. Especially the faceup, it looks a lot better than in the photos. The eyes were also very pretty.

Yes, very much. I was impressed with the little things like the accompanying guidebook considering I have never gotten anything remotely informative from a company when ordering a doll before and I think that it is great especially for a new owner.

The customer service was absolutely golden - I'm from the UK, but I was visiting the US for a couple of weeks and asked them if they would ship to a hotel because the international site wouldn't ship some of the items I wanted (the paint thinners in their acrylic sets, I suspect.) They replied to every email promptly and very courteously, I had to provide ID/card scans etc for security purposes, but they went out of their way to make the whole process as smooth as possible.

Very easy, card was charged as soon as ID was provided.

Yes and no. The doll stand was sold out from Volks USA (and costs more), and I saved about 20 bucks winning it. The base is heavy and well constructed, but the metal pole is very "wanky." It's the saddle type of stand, and it can be a pain to get my Kun to balance on it, without shoes. And even with her shoes, she still doesn't stand as straight as I would like her too. Overall, the stand does it's purpose of holding Kun in place, and she looks very lovely on my desk.

From VOLKS international (volks jp). and VOLKS akihabara direct store.
* How was the communication?
I haven't directly contact them, but they confirmed my order quickly and shipped it quickly.
* How easy was it to pay?
Well I used CC, I'm used to paying with CC so I say its easy.
* How long did it take to ship?
3 days after confirmation.
* Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
Some, of course. Although the hand I ordered has cracks.. not just one hand!!
* Did the item look like the sales pictures?
MDD rena is definitely better in person. and other DD as well, much better in person than their sales pictures!!
* Were you satisfied with the product?
It put a smile on my face for so long.. so of course.
* If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem?
I haven't contacted VOLKS about the hand crack problem, because I lost the receipt so I don't want to waste my time contacting them.
* Would you order from this company again?
Of course.. if i have the funds. since they're pretty pricey.
* Would you buy this company's products second-hand?
I have a few dollfies second hand, and just bought agnother second hand. all the second hand doesn't look bad.. still look new! but I heard many bad things about 2nd hand dollfie dreams like loose joints etc so i rather buy new..

I ordered direct through Volks USA.
* How was the communication?
Absolutely fantastic! I had an issue with the website after I placed my order, I called the next morning and they went in and solved it in just a couple minutes. They are patient and helpful via phone and e-mail.
* How easy was it to pay?
Very easy.
* How long did it take to ship?
Less than a day.
* Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
Absolutely, everything was of great quality and in good condition. It shipped fast and was well packed, and that was with the cheapest shipping option.
