Any additional info/backstory: Born Yuanzhang Mei Ling in 1363, not long before the founding of the Ming Dynasty, her ancestry is Chinese royalty. A foreigner gave her the curse of vampirism after she became mute from an attack by traitors, allies of the ones who she thinks killed her little brother Xin (Jareth). She was taken away from her home country by her vampire master and vanished completely from all normal society. She resurfaced here and has been reunited with her brother.
