History:
Sharf was born to elven parents who lived in a small, hidden elven community outside of London in the 1800's. He was born as what they called a null. That is, he lacked the magical power that elves usually possessed. As such, he was shunned by the general population and trained in menial tasks by the previous generation's null. He was basically the scapegoat for the community and the bearer of all tasks unbecoming of "true" elves.

One evening, he wandered too far from the community and happened across some humans. Having never been educated on other races, he was fascinated and followed the group in to London. He fell in love with the dark, gritty city. When he returned to the village the following day, word had already reached them of his contact with humans. The elves ostracised him, telling him that if he ever came near their village again, they would send forth thirty wolves to destroy him.

Sharf immediately left for London and became the apprentice of an engineer. Not having any money, he found a small, dilapidated shed in the woods outside the city to live in. For many years, this was an acceptable home, but one evening he wandered too far in to the woods searching for fresh water.

The elves hadn't forgotten their vow and sent the wolves after him. The elves had only ever sent wolves on humans and other pure elves before, so they did not realize that a monster would be created when the saliva of the wolves mixed with the blood of a null.

Sharf met R.B. in 1982. He thought R.B. was a woman, but still tagged along after finding out that he was a man. He has been fascinated by vampires for many years, but R.B. was the first one he actually met. He is R.B.'s self-proclaimed guard dog and is jealous of the close, father-son realtionship that R.B. and Pica share.

His name (Lyca Sharf Fredric) is not his birth name. The elves name their children well before birth. Lyca was the name chosen for him. However, when he was born and it was obvious he was a null, the name was taken from him and he was instead titled Sharf. This was considered an undignified name that only a null could posses. After the engineer he studied under passed away, Sharf took his last name (Fredric) and the business. He had always seen the engineer as a father figure and didn't want his business to suffer because of his death, so he carried on, posing as the man's adoptive son.

Personality: Despite his wild appearance and attitude, Sharf is quite intelligent. He can look at most machines and immediately figure out how they work and, if they are broken, how to fix them. He is an intensely protective friend and a vicious enemy.
