Hi! I'm finding information to make my dream doll Hickory Hugz (see my avatar and intro post) and i'm looking for dolls (preferably girldolls) in mid-evil, middle ages type clothes for inspiration. Like something ya'd see at a renaisance (spelling?) fair. Princess-y gowns and such Thanks in advance!
06-07-elves0017a337x450c by aprilllee, on Flickr I purchased this outfit on ebay--made by beachgirl on DoA (beachgirlnikita). 05-11-couch-0561a380x600aa by aprilllee, on Flickr This outfit was made by Sylphide and bought in the Marketplace. 06-04-oceanside-120aa600 by aprilllee, on Flickr Renfaire outfit: skirts from Dollovely, chemise from Wicked Stitchery, bodice from DollfieDust.
Please Show me you Medieval, Rennaisance and pricess like dresses!! I t would help me very much with creating my next character Thank you
her's something my mother made it came with an outer skirt and a cloak...but the outer skirt fell off and i didn't bother to put the cloak on >.<
It's not quite renaissance, but here's an Eva Friedel cosplay outfit I did for my SD13 Megu: It's even got little basket hoops under it and everything. That's the only side-profile pic I have of her in it... when I took those, she had the first face-up I'd ever done on. It looked terrible! Thank god the dress turned out better than the face-up...
Sideless surcoat, medieval gown, purchased on ebay made by Beachgirlnikita-- 06-07-elves-0020a337x450c by aprilllee, on Flickr Fantasy medieval princess gown by Sylphide on DoA-- 05-11-couch-500a383x550 by aprilllee, on Flickr Fantasy renaissance wench outfit, bodice by DollfieDust, chemise by WickedStitchery, skirts by dollovely-- 06-04-Oceanside-125aa449vgc by aprilllee, on Flickr Fuzzy photo of fantasy 17thC gown (on my Volks Cyndy 2)-- 09-03-royalt-alice-alee023 by aprilllee, on Flickr
Eh, I was a little slow with these, sorry. A mix of old and new photos of a couple dresses I made. The green one is based on a picture from a medieval fashion book and the second one was based on a Sailor Moon style princess dress that I made from scratch.
I've been do historical reenactment for the last 15 years. I couldn't help but make a bit of garb for the Horde as well... Asrid in her standard English Tudor.
For my first sewing attempt, I tried to make my girl a medieval type dress by by resizing a Simplicity costume pattern. Sorry the pictures are so dark (I'm a novice at photography, too!)
I wish I had a better photo for you, but I have about two feet of snow outside right now. ..and it isn't stopping Solephone Nimuë in Ultra Violet Fern **any ideas why my photo isn't showing? I'm not using the link tags, I'm using the image tags. ??
Meep - everyone's dresses are SO pretty!! They all look so elegant that it makes me want to get my Ryung a Renaissance-type dress too~ I'm ignorant about fashion so I don't know what 'period' this is supposed to represent (if it comes from any particular period), but I think my Ryung looks similar to a princess in this Elfdoll dress. xD; (I'm sorry if this doesn't fit the description)
All those girls look amazing! I'm such a sucker for fantasy-style dresses... Here's one I just finished last week. Not very rich in colour, but still...
This is my girl Eithelnen in her gorgeous Queen of Masks gown from Featherfall: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135453&highlight=Eithelnen And in her red dress (from the same seamstress):
I made this dress in a competition, you can read the story here: http://qkuu.livejournal.com/60265.html
Time for pic-spamming with my Eithelnen! XD A couple of new dresses for my baby! Made by that wonderful artist who is Sylphide : And the third one..well, not too much Renassaince like, but still she could be a fairy princess (I guess XD)
My boy; William a Migidoll ryu has a minimee body comming home. William is an assassin but he is more of a medieval-typed one. I need some ideas of what outfits to get him...Anyone have ideas....these are some that I like : http://www.leekeworld.com/images/img2/2522_f_04.jpg (love this one) anything similar to this would be amazing too (assassin's creed outfit) http://www.ncsx.com/2006/102306/Tuesday/assassins_creed_le_statue_fx.jpg I'd also find it helpful if there was a site with weapons like katanas and other blades. Thankyouuuuu~ (in advance)
Any particular geographic region or time period within the middle ages? There would be a *lot* of variation dependant upon those. But I do have plenty of information for the European Mediaeval period, and can easily find other regions.
Hmm, what about Souldoll Lee Jun Ki Iljimae outfit? http://souldoll.com/shop/step1.php?number=1482 It's sold out and was available in the fullset only, but maybe someone would be willing to sell just the clothes? katanas - http://www.swords24.eu/list/3/97/Mini_swords,_katana.html
im thinking around the early 1800's. That's a cool outfit though persiasecretary, anything modern that looks sorta sneaky with a big hood would be helpful:O
Last spring I was reading too much Cantarella and this is what happened. This is a really inspiring thread. There are so many beautiful dresses *^^*
I've got an Altair costume in progress over here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=296704
Anybody done medieval period costuming? I know there are a few fantasy dresses out there that come close to historical. There are threads for fantasy wear, but I'd like to see any examples of more historical-fantasy or straight-up period historical Medieval clothing on dolls Any takers? I can start us off with a slightly older picture of my boy Mathonwy in his green trousers, tunic shirt and leather surcoat.
Okay, we were just discussing this over here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=309049 So show your garbed dollies! This is my Unidoll Suri, the Lady Rowena, wearing a cotton dress, and light green sideless surcote made of a cotton blend, made by me and my cousin Tannis.
I made (and sold!) this Saxon/Norman outfit quite some time ago. As much as I loved making this stuff for myself to wear to SCA events, my dolls just don't do medieval reenactment with me!
One girl asked me to make a copy of a Juliet's gown from Zeffirelli's movie Romeo and Juliet, so here it is - a plain Italian renaissance dress:
Here's my girl in a basic velvet dress, the belt was an old piece of jewellery I took apart. Sorry about the brightness in the second pic, the light was being wonky for some reason >_< - it's actually a nice deep red, almost a burgandy.
I enjoy making medieval-style costumes for my dolls, but haven't made many yet. Here are the ones I've done so far;
I've seen all these pictures of girls... and girl dresses. Do we have any pictures of costumes for boys?
Hopefully I will have some... but it's not been made yet. Sometimes it's hard to make medieval clothes for guy dolls without making it look like they're just girls in short dresses.
I was just about to post here! Here's my two boys in their medieval outfits~ Fawn, in a velvet blue tunic, vest, trousers, belt and cloak. And Link, looking a bit more rouge in this lace up shirt I made, along with linen pants and some awesome boots by Dollzone~!
Oh, and MB Lilac, I'm just DYING for a tutorial on how you did those amazing leaf-shaped sleeves! Your costumes are absolutely stunning I'm so jealous of all that talent, especially in the beading department.
My sister made these outfits for me: Authentic medieval linnen shirt with belt Two piece girl's dress I posted in the gallery ages ago… http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...ic-outfit-(SP-Kill_U-girl)&highlight=medieval
I've got a lot of pleasure going through this Gallery. I like all the dolls and outfits, but I should say - MB Lilac - I am shoked! Your dolls look so amazing!!!
My Sussudio, at a festival in Indiana. I bought the dress from Ebay, I no longer remember the seller.
It's a little on the Musketeer side, but it's kind of close. Liam's is a bit more medieval. As is Teddy's.
I hope to be making a peasant shirt and a vest for my boy soon, but for now I'll just subscribe here. :P All of those dresses previous to this post are absolutely gorgeous! And I love the musketeer outfit, too.
