Wigs with Feathers

Did do this one mod project where the gal has a feather wig:

My Susa-no-o wears a feather wig that I bought from a DoA member a few years ago:



As far as I know, it was a one-off, so I'm afraid I can't give you any buying information--but I can tell you that the wig is made of a stiffened buckram cap (the kind that any dollmaking-supply place sells) with the feathers sewn and glued on. It wouldn't be *that* hard to make one--I've toyed with the idea lots of times, but I keep getting distracted by other projects.

I purchased this wig from FairyWing a few years back. The boy is long gone (sadly), but I still have the wig

 

I'm new, so if this appears twice, I'm sorry! I've made wigs from feathers. Mine are more caplike and in the Art Deco style. My inspiration is Louise Brooks, an actress from the 1920's. I've woven peacock feathers into caps, like human hair wigs are made. I've also glued them. Weaving with feathers isn't hard - the feathers are resilient. The wigs that have been posted are beautiful.

 

Well, here I go! These photos show the wig/caps. I'm trying to find the one that's all fuzzy feathers and looks less like a hat.

there were a few dotted around the wig I am finishing one at the moment with white feathers woven in, I will post it when I finish

I want to see more feather wigs too! I've been looking for some for ages but it is hard to find. I wanted ones from fairywing but i can't order in korean >.<

I know there was a fairywing GO a few months ago and from what I understand it took FOREVER to get the wigs in. But they looked awesome.

I've got a commision from someone pending for one of my little ones, it's a friend so we don't really have a time line, but I expect I'll have it with in a couple months. I'll post it once it comes.

I have this wig commissioned for my girl by the DOA member Torren. I love it on her

 

Here is my tiny Garden of Dols Nabiyette, Sparrow--I glued tiny feather into her fake fur wig. They are perhaps a little hard to see since they blend in with the stripped sections of her wig, but I like it like that. :3

 

Got this from Monedesign few months ago and really love it. Hope this will help
