There is My Favourite Doll but you have to go to their shop to buy it. http://www.mfd.net/index.cfm It's in Canada.
WOW! Many thanks! It's rather hard to find MSC at a reasonable cost. These links are great! I just bought some MSC Flat and MSC UV Flat from the Sprue Brothers Models (USA) link. Can't wait for it to get here. *happiness*
Is there any way to buy MSC at a store or speciality place in the USA? Is the only way ordering it online is basically what I want to know?
@TsukiKyou: MSC spray is from overseas so it's unlikely that you'd be able to find it in a local hobby shop. However, there are some places that you can order it from the USA if that makes you feel more comfortable. I personally can vouch for PlaJapan, very fast service. Also, just remeber to get the Flat kind, not the Gloss kind. That site has a lot of different types. ^^
My local Hobby Town has it every once in awhile. But it's always the regular MSC, not the UV kind. I would check out your local hobby/craft stores.
http://www.stanbridges.com.au/ In Perth, western Australia. No longer do we have to buy from overseas or Sydney! Although it looks like they only do the UV coat for now.
I'm not sure if I should post it here, but for those in the United States and Canada - I bought MSC from Hobbylinkjapan and saved loads on shipping - they actually ship with SAL, so instead of paying $30 a can, I got it for $14 USD! And I recieved it within 3 weeks!
Oh wow. Finally a place to post this. I know in Malaysia we can get it from Time Machine (Berjaya TimeSquare) and supposedly Hobby HQ (both locations in Kuala Lumpur) Would love to know if anyone else knows where else to get this stuff as they are super rare and constantly out of stock. note: I am talking about Mr Super Clear UV Cut of course.
I don't know if anyone added this but I ordered MSC from http://www.redfroghobbies.com they also carrie any other hobbie based needs and tools. Its listed under paints/paintbrushes then Gunze Sangyo Spray Paints. More of a direct link to it: GUNZE SANGYO SPRAY PAINTS
is there much hope of getting it in New Zealand? I got one can off eBay, but the guy sent it buy airmail, and has since stopped selling it...
I know some places that will ship overseas if you are interested as I have trouble getting it in stock for my Aussie site because of different countries rules!
http://www.hobbywave.com/modeling_supplies/sprays - I believe it's British Columbia-based in Canada. $9.50 for MSC Flat, $12 for MSC UV Cut Flat, and $15 for shipping (I think shipping's a flat rate too)
I found some on https://www.plajapan.com it's only on pre-order they said that they will received some Flat MSC around february 15,2010 in the same time I found one MSC Flat (last one) in Montreal Sci-Fi Anime (they are closed until 10-jan-10) 2186 Ste-Catherine West, 2nd floor-suite 101 http://www.scifianime.ca (no on-line store) need to check with them if they will received some new MSC soon
Here's one who ship through Europe : http://www.lepetitblinde.fr/index.php/english The site is available in french or english but you can find msc only with the french version. You need to type 'vernis' in the research bar (means varnish in french). Hope it will help some of you!
HObby Link Japan doesn't ship overseas anymore...i'm lucky to purchase 1 last year...now, i don't know where to get it
hey i typed into the english search bar 'varnish' and a ' Mr Mat Varnish Top Coat Flat Spray ' appeared. is the stuff like mr super clear or not? how does it compaire? would it harm my dolls when they arrive? A.R.N.F
I just found they carry Mr. Super Clear at Hobbyland in Columbus, OH (USA) I am going to go get some tonight. It sells for $18/can.
Just to update that Miss Blythe Store has now closed. So, with it being out of stock everywhere but Angelesque (who are charging $24 a can ), us folks in Europe are utterly stuck. ETA: No, Angelesque are out of stock too.
Yup, I've just seen that too MadamMauMau, and I've edited the first post to take out Miss Blythe Store.
Just preordered a can on PlaJapan. They're now open for preorder, but they're not going to be sent out until the 30th of April
For those in the DC Metro area: Hobby Works, on Rockville Pike in the Federal Plaza, sells MSC flat and gloss. They deal in Mr. Hobby so you can get their paints and surfacers too. I only saw two cans of each while I was there yesterday but I'm sure they will get more soon when they sell out. This place is kinda near the White Flint Metro station on the red line; you'll have to take the northbound bus for 2 blocks. If going by car, take the Beltway and exit off Rt. 355 towards Wisconsin Ave.
Windsor Hobbies located in Windsor, Ontario will be carrying a small amount of MSC locally at $16.95 per can. Due to shipping laws they will be unable to ship it though but for those in the London area - it might be worth the trip, especially because the store also carries Tamiya 2 part epoxy, super fine grit sandpaper, paint thinner and pin vises (for dolly ear piercings) as well as a few dremel bits. Their website isn't up yet but I will update this when it is. The best idea is to call ahead to see what's in stock. phone: 519-945-5471 email: [email protected]
Found a few different places as possibilities for Canadians looking for MSC: UDISCO (hobby store in Montreal, QC; UV-Cut is $16CAD and regular is $12CAD): https://udisco.com/hobbies/inv/GUNZE.HTM ERICYYMODEL (hobby store located in HK that will ship it via Surface mail; regular is $6.50US): http://www.ericyymodel.com/toolhobby.html
I live in Renton WA. (near Seattle) I ordered 3 cans from Junkyspot and they came one day later with some candy in the box.
I have a question about MSC's, do they have due dates or when do they turn old? Do they turn bad if they're left opened for a long time?
I was sort of hoping that the LA Volks store would carry it, but I guess that's a no? ): Ah, that's so helpful! Thank you!
VOLKS USA does sell Mr. Super Clean through its website. If they sell it on their store, I don't know, but I planning to go to their store in Torrance California this weekend since a live nearby (like 23 miles) to buy MSC. I let you know if they have it on stock.
there's a Polish online store: http://www.gunze.pl/go/_category/?idc=id_11&order=1&page=1&producer_id=0&record_row=long&lang=pl , they ship all over europe :>
I don't think My Favorite Doll carries MSC anymore. Last time I checked they stop shipping them out in Canada. Today it was no where to be seen on the site. In case some might not know, there is a HobbyWave store in Burnaby if you live in the Greater Vancouver region. Might want to call first to see if they have it in stock. Link is already posted on the first page. Under "About Hobby Wave" there is the address for the HW in Burnaby.
I get mine from Junky Spot, it's about $15 a can and shipping isn't too bad...but I'm gonna get it at the Volks shop in Torrance next weekend, too...
I've bought a couple cans from Amazon.com. They go in and out of having it in stock and not having any at all, but usually they have something. Sometimes they have the UV cut type too! Oh, and I'm in the US. Don't know if that matters or not.
I just bought a can of Mr. Hobby Super Clear Flat from Robots4Less.com. They have some in stock! They do have the UV Cut to, but it is currently sold out. The store is located in Los Angeles, CA. I'll let you know how long it takes to arrive. It cost $16.93 with shipping. They have a Christmas coupon going right now that save 15%.
Thanks a lot there! Finally I can found where I can get MSC in Malaysia!! but just to confirm 1 more time as I notice this post is quite old... is there still available? just don't want to waste my time go there and come back with empty hand....
About MSC, are there any videos around of how to spray it? I know this is stupid, but I'm not sure what's the best technique to spray it on the face. Also, how long do I need to wait for it to dry before I can put a layer of blush etc?
Are there any online stores that ship to Alaska/Hawaii? Junkyspot requires a minimum of SIX bottles bought, which is RIDICULOUS.
yes i want to know too where else do you get msc in malaysia ? i've already went to time square but the shop closed down
Since Rosenlied is sold out... most of the time. Leekeworld sells MSC on their Korean site for South Korean residents!
Rebell Hobby sells MSC. Quite expensive, but if you live in Sweden, you save on the shipping. Just search for "Mr. Super Clear UV cut" and you'll find it.
For those of you in the Hudson Valley region of NY and parts of Connecticut, if you're not opposed to a bit of a drive, Heritage Hobbies (heritagehobbies.com) in Wilton, CT can get MSC Flat and UV cut in. $18 a can, and it's a bit of a drive for me (1 1/2 hours), but if I can get out of paying shipping and support an actual brick and mortar store I'm all for it. I'll be picking up my 6 cans tomorrow!
I just received a can of the UV Cut from Ultimate Action Toys in Australia, took only a couple of days to ship interstate. Other Australian places which don't currently have MSC in stock but which you can place back-orders with: HobbyOne Brunel Hobbies Southern Hobbies Hope this helps someone else finding sourcing MSC in Australia a nightmare! (Tip for people having problems in their country: I had much better success searching for "Mr Hobby" and looking through stock than searching directly for Mr Super Clear or MSC.)
I noticed that it's getting easier to obtain MSC, at least for Europeans. I remember my sister searched a lot when she ordered a can (it's already a few years ago). I recently ordered one at a Chinese store, but I'll have to wait a few more weeks until I'll receive it.
