Girl body into boy body??

Nov 18, 2006

    1. I was wanting to know, will you be able to modify the Iplehouse girl body into a boy body? Is the chest pure resin like the Luts CP Mature body? Thanks :)

      • x 1
    2. Yup, it's solid. ^_^ I just checked mine.

    3. that's a lot of sanding! She's got quite the chest (had my first look and playing with her yesterday)

    4. A huge amount of sanding. @_@ She's busty, that's for sure. And her shape is, in my opinion, even more feminine than the Delf girls. Her thighs are HUGE! Bigger than her hips, which are also quite curvy and large. Making a man of her would take a lot of effort and could come out with questionable results. >_>;

That said, good luck. XD Guess you never know unless you try~!

    5. Well I want my Louis to be a very curvy boy and feminine. I want the resin match to be perfect too. I know it's quite big but I think I can take the challenge. :) I am not 100% sure if I am going to do it though.

Edit:: I think that the less mature girl body will be a better choice to do this :)

    6. I know quite a few people are interested in girl-> boy mods so I though I'd put up how I'm doing mine. That way you can learn from my mistakes ^^;

I have this adorable oldskin girl body thanks to Glass_ mountain. I kinda expected it to be floppy and awkward after all I heard about these bodies, but actually I'm happy with it, it stands and sits well, that's all I need ^^

It arrived strung much tighter than I ever could, so I'm trying to do the mds without restringing. So far I haven't run into trouble. I'll just pop the thighs out to do the..um...boy parts..

Anyway here's a before pic. What a cute body ^^
      [IMG]

I've spent over an hour so far sanding. I figured sanding would be the safest way, as I could see what I was doing as I went. Well it's safe but slow! I've done noses before but those don't have much to take off. I've just used a 36 grit sanding sponge to get the bulk off, but still got alot to go before I begin smoothing.

After all this elbow grease he still has boobs! arg lol
      [IMG]

When I get some energy I'll do some more sanding, but I'm resting now ^-^

For the boy parts I'm going to colour some superfine white milliput and sculpt right on.

      update 1
still nowhere near getting them off o.0
      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/babytarragon/DSC01531.jpg

      update 2
And I finally came across the air bubbles.
      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/babytarragon/DSC01533.jpg
That very visable one is really deep, it's so deep I won't be able to sand it away. plus there will be more. So I'll have to fill them with milliput when I make his boyparts. cos he can't be having holes on his chest!

      After 1 day
      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/babytarragon/DSC01539.jpg

      After 1 weekend ^^;

He's getting close to being finished!

Just needs the putty of his nipples and boy parts painted (I decided it would be easier to paint the putty rather than attempt to colour it right before it set)

That purple bit above his right nipple? There was a huge air bubble, bigger than a pea. At first I thought I'd sanded all the way through, but I hadn't it was a sealed bubble. really funny. So I filled it with epoxy. I coloured the epoxy to make a birth mark. The doll has a 'birthmark' so I think the character ws meant to as well ^^

    7. you might have to up your workouts to complete this mod

      <- hates sanding

    8. Huh, that body would look masculine enough without that chest! I wouldn't have thought it.

    9. =_= Man, and Volks girls aren't even stacked or anything... @____@ I dread when the time comes for me to take off a CP chest. Y-Y

    10. Ugh.. I have a new cp girl body whose chest needs to be sanded almost completely down. It fills me with dread.

    11. My advice is, use something to get the bulk off before starting sanding, unless you've got 6 hours to give it, which is what I'm predicting this will take. At least >_<

And get lots of sanding stuff, my 36 grit sponge is wearing away and so it's making work much slower.

    12. I suppose you have probably already considered this, but do you have access to a Dremmel-type tool? That would make it a loooot easier. Still, you are doing a great job. I love the shape of that body for a boy. Can't wait to see what it looks like finished! ^____^

    13. I'm planning on sanding my dollzone girl's bewbs off as soon as I get her. What kind of sanding tools would you reccomend for the initial sanding and then smoothing? :)

By the way, your boy looks adorable! I love how he turned out. :D

    14. Thanks!

      To be honest, I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask, as i've only done this mod once ^^;

However I reckon for a mini, it might not take too long just with sandpaper. I started with 36 grit I think, which works reasonably fast, considering how slow sanding is!

Make sure you check you are not going to sand right through to the torso hollow before you start!!

      Good luck ^^

    15. An after pic ^^

    16. :D Wow, this thread has me totally motivated about buying girl bodies to butcher! (I like hips too much... :sweat) I've always thought that body would make a cute boy, too.

Glass_mountain is fab! What a strange coincidence with you to, though~. *_* (Although, after closer inspection, you both being in England probably explains it...)

    17. How long did it take you to get his boobs off fully by sanding?

    18. Mm. I think you put the nipples too high. They're in boobs position instead of pecs position. Men and boy's nipples are usually farther to the outside and lower on their pecs than they are on a woman's breasts.

    19. Thanks everyone for the input. It really helps to have 'fresh eyes'. My judgement was impaired from always seeing the character as male, if that makes sense.

Every comment made has been true, so I will have to look into finding a matching male body.

    20. how are you planning on sanding the breasts? im just curious; i was going to sand the abs off my doll if i can figure out how to go about it..

    21. Hi Cariface!

I decided not to mod this doll, but I did sand the breasts off an old SD10, and I just used a rough sanding sponge, then when I was happy with the shape I moved to normal sandpaper, then fine. It took a long time but I had full control because there was no risk of taking too much off without realising using this method.

    22. How hard would it be to mod a girl's body to an "angel" body (androgynous)?
Is the chest area solid resin or porous (not talking about the whole torso.Just her chest area)?

Would the resin be more breakable if it was modded?

And do you have to take precautions when handling a colored doll (ie. Tan,grey, blue etc.)?

    23. Need help here!

    24. There was someone who sliced the boobs off a lot of dolls and I guess it worked for them. I forget who it was, but they'd probably be the one to ask.

    25. I'm not sure about the modding, though it would seem that a boy doll would be easier than a girl... as sanding the lower parts of the boy would take less effort than the whole chest of a girl. But that's just my opinion.

I'm getting a doll of mine tanned by VinylFaerie. She's done it a lot and the dyeing comes with instructions on how to care for them. Really, it seems the same as the basic care of normal dolls [stay out of direct sun, light clothing, coat, etc.] save that you can't use a Magic Eraser to clean them, as that'll take the dye off. VinylFaerie's services come with sueding of the joints to keep the color from coming off. Before dyeing, if you want to get rid of the seam lines, you have to sand the whole doll really really well using a crazy high grit of sandpaper [I have 2500 and 3000]. This gets rid of the seam lines without having a variation in color between the sanded and unsanded areas. It would probably be a good idea to anyway, as the dyeing process brings out every little scratch in the resin, making it darker.

If you have anything else specific, VinylFaerie's great with questions. ;333

    26. If you check out the Workshop area of the forum (where I've moved your thread), you'll find a bunch of threads about modding girl bodies and coloring dolls' bodies.

Also, please remember not to bump threads more than once every 24 hours. Thanks! :)

    27. Oh okay,thank you AllMyVisions

And Traversity,umm.. I was looking at getting a CP Soony for my Rabbit, and I really dont want to buy the head and body separate... (the floating head would freak me out if I saw it at night)

      Sorry,Junkets. Thankies! ^^'

    28. I've modded a female body into an androgynous body. The breasts of the doll are pretty much solid, although sometimes, (very slim chance if you by from a good company like LUTS) you might get an air bubble, which is just a pocket of air inside the resin.

      Also, it's not more breakable, not at all. ^^;

With tanned and colored dolls, never sand them. Since most companies simply 'brush' the tanning solution onto the top layers of resin, sanding will end up making the resin blotchy looking, and lighten it up. (I think though, there is a company that mixes the tanned color in with the resin mixture itself).

Companies that sell tanned dolls (ie LUTS) usually put a warning on the doll's page, stating that you shouldn't sand for that reason.

    29. I haven't seen this anywhere on the forums so I'm asking it.

I want to change a girl body into a boy body. I have sanded the boobs off, so the upper body is almost finished. But my problem is the lower body.
Or, to explain better: the penis.

I'm thinking about using clay to make it, but I really don't know how. Does anyone know how I could do this? Otherwise I have to buy a new body, and I'll lose the female-ish hips. My msd boy is a cute character and needs to have female-ish features.

      Anyway, thanks.

    30. I'm working on the same mod on my boy! Again, the need for the more feminine waist and hips on a male character. Right now I'm working on making his genitals with sculpy clay as I found it in a color that matches his resin color really well...Someone recommended that as I want him to be anatomically correct for nude photography purposes that I make several in different...'stages' shall we say? And then use craft glue or something to attach when photographing and removing when not needed. I was also told that making the penis separately, baking it, and then attaching it with super glue works well. Or using Epoxy and tinting it to more closely match the resin (as it won't otherwise) and sculpting it directly onto the doll before it hardens, then sanding it more smooth and to bland it more into the resin works well, too, and is harder to break than something like Fimo or Sculpy clays.

I'm going with the Sculpy, personally...and just need to decide how to attach it, and whether I want it interchangeable or not.

Also, depending on how realistic you want it to look, looking for reference images is a good idea...if more than a little embarrassing given that what you're looking up and saving to use once you ARE sculpting are images of men's penises...I have a collection for reference now, of real and dolly bits to use once I get to sculpting.

    31. Thanks everyone!

And yes, I think I'll also work with sculpey, since I love to work with that. I've never worked with epoxy before and what I hear from other people is, that it's pretty difficult to get it in the right color.

@ OmiCat: oh wow, I would really like to see some more pics, it looks cool!

    32. Has no one thought to buy a girl body and a boy body and simply swop out the parts they want, rather than completely destroying the resale value of the body (ever seen what girl bodies with sanded-off boobs go for? Yeah. They don't actually go, you see) by messing permanently with it?

If you want the girl hips, can't you just stuff the pants?

    33. Hasel, you want to try? I would really like that!!! I'd een pay you for it if you want to!
(ja ik kan niet kleien xDD)

@ OpheliaB: no. I want the small girl body, and I want to mess with it. Why would I want to sell my most precious doll? I wouldn't be asking this if I 1)had the money to buy a male body, and 2) if I didn't want to do everything myself. And I already told you, I already sanded off the boobs.
Iwant to make the boy part because I want some nude pics. It sounds a bit perverted, but ok....

    34. I did actually consider that or even buying a boy body for my AR, but the more I looked at the boy bodies the more I liked the girl body. I'm not all that concerned with selling this one. I made sure I really loved him as a boy before I went ahead and hacked off the chest. For me its not so much girly hips, since I think AR's are less curvy than most other girls, it was more about having a more childish boy body for my full sized boy. The 60cm range tends to be more grown up and this particular character of mine just doesn't look right with a very defined chest and abs >___< Plus I wanted him as short as I could manage without leaving the 60cm range and yeah its only a cm shorter than the boy, but that kinda matters to me too ^___^;;;

also stuffing pants would kind of not work if they were doing nude shots of any type. I assume that would be the number one reason to want to add the bits, other than maybe 'knowing'. I'm fine with just making sure that little area is never shown in photos if it comes to that for my mod.

    35. I would like to mod a CP girl body into a boy body too. ;)

    36. When I saw my doll, it belonged to a friend who was selling 'her' I fell in love with the doll for my character, and the body shape was just PERFECT for him, so long as I modded off the breasts (given, it's an immature body, and MOST people didn't even consider it to be 'female' BEFORE the sanding off of what little was there, but it bugged ME) and I just did NOT like the shape of the male bodies available from the company...or any company for that matter, that might match the doll's resin. In the waist, OR the hips. When I got the chance to own the doll, I jumped on it, and dove right in to making the doll into my character.

Resale does NOT matter to me, as I will NOT sell a doll that I've put so much work and time, and love into, especially not once I've played with it a lot. I may TELL other people (who are critical of the hobby in general) that they have good re-sale for most dolls and that I'll likely sell them one day...but like my porcelain dolls, and my barbies, and even my plushies, and action figures, and things...I'm not GOING to sell them off. If I had had any doubt about this doll being Ken, I would NOT have started the mods, not have even considered them, until I was sure that no other doll would do. As is...I had over a month to get attached to him and knew he was my perfect Ken. And I'll be the same with every other doll I buy. Once I've grown attached and KNOW that it's the right doll for the character, I'll mod them to BE that character, and not look back. Afterall, if I can still own and love my most played with Barbies, and my beyond well loved porcelain doll (all of which always bugged me because they couldn't pose or move how I wanted them to) and not have ANY interest in getting rid of them (even if they do just sit in their boxes now unless I want to mess with making something for them, or playing with their hair) I don't see why I'd have any interest in ever getting rid of dolls that I put so much work into, that do the things I always wanted my dolls to do.

And like I said, I like to take nude photos. And unlike myself, my dolls will make perfect models for such things as they won't get tired, don't require me having someone come over to take the photos (as other than my dolls I am the only model I have) or having to set and wait on the camera self timer. For nude photos...the dolls have to look how I want them to in the nude, not just in clothing.

So in the end, they are my dolls, they will remain my dolls, and they will become what I want them to be, regardless of the mods it means I have to do to them. I've been looking for dolls I could do this with for YEARS before I found ABJD, and now that I've found them, I see no reason to hold back on making them perfect for me since I've tried and tried with cheap toys and never been happy with the results. With these dolls, I CAN mod them, I CAN change them, I can change a female body that's got the perfect shape into the male body I want it to be, and I see no reason not to do so. Especially not when by the time I KNOW it's the right doll it's in the same category of my other 'play things'...no matter how badly I need money, I simply can NOT part with them. I'll sell off my books, my video games, and anything else I own before I'll sell off those things, like my dolls, that have personalities that I've given them that I love.

    37. Okay, i've searched around for a tutorial on how to mod a girl bjd body in to a boy bjd body [remove the boobs basically] and didnt really find any flat out HERE YOU GO tutorial. So today i decided it was time to mod my boy's boobs away and figured i'd take a couple of pictures and build up an easy tutorial for all of those who need it.

A FEW THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
      - This kind of mod is better left to someone with more steady hands-
      - DO ALL YOUR MODDING OUTSIDE -
[doll resin dust isnt good to breath!]
      - Wear something over your nose/mouth to keep you from breathing in the dust -
      - I am not responsible for anyone who follows this tutorial and messes up ^^; -

Now THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IVE DONE THIS so my tutorial and methods may not be the best/fastest/easiest, but it worked for me and im sure it can work for you!

      LETS GET STARTED!

      MATERIALS YOU'LL NEED
      [IMG]
      1. A cloth & magic eraser [to wipe the dust away from the chest as you work]
      2. A bowl of water [to use with items 1]
      3. Sandpaper. Rough & Smooth [YOU WILL NEED BOTH KINDS]
      4. An electric beveler [this tool saves you ALOT of hours when sanding]
      5. A scarf/cloth/mask [to cover your face so you dont breath in dust!]
      6. Doll chest :)

Step One: First, you will need to set up your materials OUTSIDE and get your beveler ready for sanding. Most bevelers come with multiple head bits.
Once you have your beveler set up you can start. Turn it on low and SLOWLY work your way over the breast of the doll [one at a time] in a gentle up and down motion. Dont push too hard and dont leave the bevel sitting in one place for too long or it will end up VERY uneven and a pain later. Continue moving the bevel until you have sanded it down to the desired height for your doll!

**REMEMBER: As you bevel stop periodically to wipe away the resin dust that will build up so you can see what you're doing!

**Keep in mind while beveling that it will be uneven and messy, do your best to not make any gouges in the resin as these are VERY difficult to remove.

After you've bevelled the resin down on BOTH breasts the hard part is done. It WILL look messy and a bit uneven, but this is where our sandpaper comes in to play.

Step Two: Now that you've bevelled away most of the work take your ROUGH sandpaper and work it over the two mounds, dont go crazy, just small circular motions all over until you have the area smoothed out to your liking.

Now you'll notice if you look at the chest the sandpaper and bevel has put scratches all over it! No one wants scratches all over their dolls! Now we use the soft sand paper :)

In SMALL circular motions move the soft sandpaper over the scratched areas, this will slowly but surely reduce and remove and scratches you may have created.

Its all a very tedious process, sanding, wiping, sanding, wiping, sanding some more, but in the end you will get the desired result!

      [IMG] [IMG]

Im sorry there arent as many photos as you probably want/need, i was very focused during the whole process i forgot :( and i'll probably end up sanding mine a bit more later on, but for now im pleased with the results for my first time doing this ^^

If you have ANY questions about ANYTHING in this tutorial or a step i may not have been clear on, ASK ME! :)

I hope this helps some people out who are wanting to do this sort of mod. Please excuse any of my typos

    38. Are you planning on modding the bottom part of the torso too? Or are you going to sculpt...boy bits, to put it politely. I can't imagine the bottom would really matter unless he's running around nakey XD

    39. Haha well i dont really plan on making him any boy bits as he wont be running around naked.

However! You can make them with apoxy and shape it on there, thats what ive seen done quite a bit.

    40. but y mod a female body -> male?

    41. Nice Tutorial, rly

@kabana: Some doll types are just sold as female. But if you want that one and want it as a male you can mod it.
Or if you have a doll for longer and decide it makes a better boy whatever.
      There are enough reasons

    42. @Tekila: Thank you :)!

For me, this doll's face was perfect for the character i wanted, the character is male, while the doll is female.

In other cases, people mod girl bodies to boy bodies because of the height of their doll, or just body shape they pictured from the start. Alot of boy body's can be too tall, too buff, too ____ for the character in mind so the way people tend to go is modding the perfect girl body to get the boy body they wanted [smaller, etc. etc.]

    43. Helpful tutorial, definitely!

The only thing I would mention is that you don't have the right protection against resin dust. @_@ It's VERY harmful, and you need a fine particle mask, and, if possible, to keep the resin wet as you sand away to minimize particles flying about.

It would also be helpful if you mentioned the grit of sandpaper that you were using, instead of 'rough' and 'soft.'

    44. Ah yeah i mask would be better than a scarf, but i kept everything nice and wet so there was no dust flying in my face ^^ but a mask would be better you're right

    45. i see...that make sense:lol:

    46. If I may step in here, having done a few of these myself (including a zaoll, which is what I believe that chest is), I've discovered you can get the total time taken down a little bit by taking a cutting wheel and lopping off the bulk of the resin before you go at it with the round sanding piece to make the basic shape of pecs.

It's worth mentioning that when you square off the bottom of the breast to make the pectoral muscle, you may need to dip into the torso under the breast a little bit to get the muscle structure looking accurate too.

Also, I've found that doing the sanding with paper section under water helps immensely, not only because you don't inhale the dust, but also because wet sanding seems to give a smoother finish (particularly on the zaoll resin).

Oh and when sanding, even outside, WEAR A MASK. Preferably a full respirator. Seriously, I'm not alone in my long term lung damage from years of attacking resin with dremel without appropriate masks.

Hope you don't mind my comments! Nice tutorial! :)

    47. I agree with Lulu, a little more pectoral definition would make a great mod even more realistic, like so:

Davenport's chest has been shaped like a man's, around the breastbone with a little dip before the ribs.

    48. @ kabana; Re: Why?
I'm dying to get a Sunny/Sandra from B&G, but I want it to be a girl... with a very flat chest. Like, gymnast body, or forced-into-a-speedo body. I just can't find any 60cm dolls with flat enough chests that would match B&G's resin color, so I fully plan to flatten her chest myself. :3nodding: Not a full pectoral treatment, but not far from it, either.

    49. @ Furious D & lulu: Thanks for your input! Yeah i considered cutting off the main mass but at the same time since it was my first go i wanted to be more careful and not do anything drastic just to cut off some time ^^; but thats good to know for the future!

Also, he really needs more sanding, for now im happy with him as i dont plan on making my boy shirtless anytime soon, but ill probably work on it a bit more later on :)

    50. I'm not too sure if this has been asked yet, but does anyone know of a tutorial explaining how to change a girl model into a boy? I've heard of sanding the breast away, but how does one go about it? I plan to buy a girl's body and change it to a male, because i have a character in mind who is overly feminine and would like advice before tackling it.

((if this has been asked and answered, please direct me to the thread! :sweat))

    51. Will all these tips and tools work on girls with huge boobs as well?

    52. I dont see why not. It will just take more sanding/dremelling/time. Just be careful :)

    53. Nice tutorial. I always wondered what kind of dremel tools were used. There are some very useful comments in this thread too that I used for doing my own girl to boy mod.

As mentioned I did a similar girl to boy mod too and I was afraid that by cutting into the torso under the breast would make the placement of the pectoral muscle too low or change too much of the torso shape, so I cut off a part of the breast at the bottom. It's useful if you want more pectoral definition, but it could be troublesome if you want a flat boyish chest.

    54. Hello! I've modded a Soom Minigem girl body to make it male, but I still can't decide on how flat the pectoral muscles should be. Should I sand it more?
Mimigem body mod female to male
Sorry I can't post pictures directly.
