Now, I've done a search but I didn't find anything so...I figured I'd post one myself ^_^ It seems all over the board we have an abundance of gorgeous gothic, jrocker, or punk dolls. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this, and a lot of the clothing is completely and utterly amazing, but what I'm looking for is something more...old. Talking medieval style here. So, any boys/elves/various other fantasy races in a more medieval or fantasy styled outfit? Post away ^_^
Pam SD created these lovely Renaissance designs . . . one of my favorite historical epochs. They bring such reveries of a long ago era. Let's see some of your favorite costumes from days gone by!
beautiful photo! here's my Mongolian Prince ca. 1250 A.D. looking forward to everyone's pix. what a great thread idea, Sherry!

dark carolyn Aren't the costumes enchanting? It's as close to slipping our dolls back in time, as possible! Thanks for your lovely words! eclipse21 Yes, this era really did have splendid clothing, didn't it? Fun to dress up like that, but our things are a lot easier to get around in. Part of the fun of taking romantic looks in the past. eruantale001 Thank you so much! The Limhwa dolls really do seem to come to life in photos, don't they? And they look quite natural in modern dress as well as their historical fantasy clothes! She is indeed an half elf . . and here is a shot of her in another historical fantasy style . . this time in gorgeous costumes by S & K, and the exotic jeweled headdress is from our own Lachlana here on DOA.
A curtain call curtsy, compliments of Kaida..... I don't have much by way of historical or fantasy outfits. Kaida says I will have to see what I can do about that.
i love this thread! here's some of my dolls looking like characters right out of a jane austen novel in their regency style clothes. do underthings count too?^.^

ooo my turn! Here are some of my favorite pictures- My narae with a scarf from target My DOT Shall in a hat and rocco style dress, both by me My early attempt and something colonial-
I do make all my clothes myself. Thanks! I dunno about these. They are based on Medieval style, but if they are exactly accurate? eh...probably not really. THis one is decently accurate peasant attire. Probably not as accurate Guard Uniform Fairly accurate 1700s rogue. Not the knives though. 1800s shirt and vest Elizabethan fop
One of my girls in a dress from about 1066 Some medieval dress And proper undergarment Regancy era (one of my favorites) Long spencer Jacket Plane reagancy dresses And finally, a tiny samurai
Some of my crew and hiritai's boy vin in Rococo gear I made. Ignore the non period shoes >.> And a commission I did for a tudor gown:
I love this thread! Here are a few of mine: Dreaming eye Roda in 18th century: Beloved Chloe (dreaming eye Roda) in Regency: BW Lishe in more 18th century: Dollstown Ariel looking very "little house on the prairie" 19th century: DOT Shall in Edwardian undies (and, yes, I definitely think undies count): Can't forget the boys! Volks Amakusa and Lucas in 18th century: Sweeney Todd in 19th century: I hope you enjoy seeing them as I so much enjoy seeing yours! Jay
Adding my Queen...who I no longer have but planned to again one day (when money begins to grow on trees!) Queen Elizabeth I (Snow White 2/3 Eyes 43cm Narae) outfit by Syphilde
More of my Rococo obsession. This incredible confection by the extremely talented Robin Foley. I'm just still in a daze of joy that this beautiful outfit is mine now! Modeled by modded sleeping Lydia. She had her eyes most of the way opened by Dale Zentner with faceup by me. I just love this thread! Jay
Here is my girl, Miss Dunn (an Iplehouse Silvia), in a Victorian creation by me ...actually the first dress I ever made for her...so be kind.
Lilja and Halli in fantasy medieval. Lilja's outfit is by aussiedolls. Halli is trying to look like a viking in various bits and pieces I put together. Eusebia and a Colonel Brandon satyr (huh?) cs playing Sense and Sensibility
im not sure if this counts or not, but here is my MD Ryu, David, dressed in his "back-in-the-day" outfit. i cant give a specific time period because i am well aware it isnt historically accurate for any time XD he's a vampire and was "alive" a while ago, so i figure its sometime in the past XD
Ignore the antlers and hooves. ^_^;; Here's Davlin in his normal attire. Broadfall breeches and vest made by lordjestocost. Belt and accessories by me, cravat by Dollheart, and shirt by another seller here on DoA whose name escapes me at the moment.
I made this dress by following the directions from Janet Arnold's Renaissance pattern book. The dress is dated 1550-60's. It is shown on my lovely Nefertari, Resin Soul Mei. Same gown, more interesting picture and better hair.
Here are my Yugioh Dolls from "Duelists of the Roses" (Tudor Era): I have since sold the Bakura and Rebecca dolls and their outfits but Seto and Serenity (Christian & Cecily) are still with me! ^^
Here is my MNF Shiwoo in a Gene Marshall outfit, with extras by me. (Black bodice, necklace, sash mine) It was made as a Victorian outfit, but I tried to modify it for use in a pirate photostory. I'll try to take some of her in the original outfit on her Penny-Farthing bicycle. ^^
Here are a few of my period dolls in their costumes. I have yet to photo them outside in a natural setting. All of these photos were taken at doll meets. Hannah-my Serving Wench Anne Boleyn Mary Boleyn Gabriel as 18th Century Gent The Countess Noelle Chevalier
I need to snap more pics of my garbed medieval court for this thread. They're about 80% accurate, which I think is an acceptable line between historic and historically inspired. My court is all inspired by fashions from the early Middle Ages in Britain and Wales. (roughly 1000- 1350 or so AD) Rowena, my noble lady. Lir, who really needs a tunic over his undershirt... Earlier version of Rowena in a sideless surcote. Oh, and this isn't medieval, nor did I make it- It's apparently supposed to be a French National Costume, I'm not sure what period. It used to have a tall lace hat with it.
Derek, in Romance of Venice by Dollheart, XVIII century: Helmyra in Black Aristocrat by Dollheart, looks Victorian like. Aubrey in Formal by Dollheart, late XIX century suit.
I've got Victorian costumes for all of my crew, but I've not done individual photos of everyone yet, and the boys are getting better hats, so I don't want to post the group photos I have. But here's Danica, in her 14-year-old girl's dress. She hates it, BTB. And Fauna, who loves her dress:
Nasrin, my Planet Doll Mini Tara (27 cm), in a 16th century Persian outfit. Amara, my Planet Doll Mini Riz, in her pirate outfit. I can't get the blocking right on her wool hat, yet.
Gosh I love this thread! I am astounded at the talent here. Thought I'd add some more. I didn't make any of these outfits..hangs head in embarrassment... This is Claire and Luke (DOTs Shall and Lahoo) in Victorian with a bit of an unrealistic flair. Edwardian Vivienne (Roda). Lillian (DOT tender Shall) with a 1920s vibe: And just have to add this very Victorian couple -- Walker (Dollshe Hound) and Lillian (DOT tender Shall). I hope these are historical enough for this thread. Jay
omg I absolutly love this thread. I would love to get some renaissance clothes for my dolls but the best I have right now is Yuuma in this suit like looks like it's from the early 1950s.
My version of Paul Poiret tunic and pants-in cotton. I have the silk, but I want to get the pattern right before I cut it. I went with a narrow pant because the cotton wouldn't drape at all on my Planet Doll Mini Tara, Nasrin. I have found the right shoes and will be buying them soon.

My outfits probably bend a little too far toward fantasy but most have historical basis. I am astounded by the beauty and skill so many of you possess. Unfortunately, I can't keep from sharing.
Our next meet up in STL is a pirate meet. So I thought that I would make my Mina (B&G Freya) into an Elizabeth Swann like character...because....let's face it...what fun would the pirates have if they didn't have someone to plunder. The Dress and all undergarments were made by me. The wig was styled by me.
I can at last add my boy to this thread, as is proper. 16th Century Spanish Conquistador. Custom commission by PamSD.
Iplehouse Tania Dress is by iplehouse too You can see the rest of the shoot here:http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=340390
