[Adopted] Kid Delf (Luts) Discussion Part 1

I had my heart set on buying 2 MSD dresses from dollmore for a Kid Delf Cherry from Luts, I didn't even think about the fit until just a few minutes ago!

Does anyone know if the Dollmore clothing fits?

 

I've bought several things from Dollmore for Darken and - in my experience, at least - tops fit fine but trousers are very tight. They do fit him (they zip up & fasten) but when he sits down they burst open -_-;

I'd guess that dresses would be fine provided they're not too fitted around the hips...or if you don't mind your girl not being able to sit down ^___^

 

I've bought an outfit from dollmore for my Delf Kid Nara, and it seems to fit her fine (though the trousers seem a wee bit too long, but she still looks cute )

 

I have four dollmore msd size outfits and each one fits my kid delf Cherry perfectly.

 

New Kid Delves from Luts pictures have been posted on the front page.

I wonder if that means that they are gonna be released soon?

Well I know the second from the Left(boy) is called Bori since I've been eyeing him for a long while. I forget the name of the doll on the far right but his name has been posted on denofangels before.

I think they are skinnier because the girls are switching to the new bodies too.

I think Mill looks better in those photos than in the new promo photo on eluts right now. ^__^ And I do hope Mill is a boy - or both boy/girl are options. In the Freemarket photo, he is definitely a boy, but in the new promo photo I can't see enough of his outfit to be sure...

Sorry if someone's already asked this but, does anyone know if the existing kid delf heads are going to be available in the real skin now?
I really want one of the new bodies for my elf nara but I love her sculpt too much and would rather buy a new head and sell the old doll than have her mismatched =/

Bawwwww...! I haven't even gotten my hands on my first doll yet and I'm already thinking of bringing Bory home in the future. I had been telling myself that maybe I'd get an Homme Ivan one day, but then here is Bory changing my mind.

But I HATE those elbows! So unnatural and ugly! I have to second the sentiment that if I ever got one, he'd be in long sleeves 24/7.

Maybe if I really love my first doll and consider the price worth it, I'll get a Bory with my tax return. Maybe.

But then again luts doesn't have paypal anymore and I have no plans on getting a credit card anytime soon so..meh.

I did end up doing a mock up for Bory though. Yeek!

 

firstfruits - Luts said they're discontinuing white and normal skin for the Kid Delves, but I'm sure they're going to bring them back some day.

On the new girl body... Overall I like it, but there are things that bother me. I like the torso-- that's great. I like the arms and hands, except the elbow joint. I enjoy the legs except for how bulky and circular they made that thigh joint. If it was more subtle, I would've been happier.

adae - From what I've seen about the DoD boys, many people have found that when they measure their guardian boys that they're only 43 cm. Meanwhile the normal DoD boy body is 42 cm. So maybe the height difference might not be as jarring? Sable also put up this comparison for the LatiBlue boy, but it also includes a DoD (Yen? So old, normal, non-guardian body?) and a Kid Delf Cherry boy on the Renewal Boy body. Toos, I remember, are on the old body. Here's a height comparison of Too with the other boys and their bodies.

Anyways, I might get a Bory, but I'm going to point him smiley instead of angry.

 

Well, Real Skin is apparently lighter than Luts Normal Skin. The undertones of the resin are different, too. I don't know if it'll be a good match, but there's a resin comparison here. Luts' Normal skin is so inconsistent sometimes that it might just be luck. !

They're not selling these guys in parts yet for a while either. Ahh. But anyways. I don't think they attach with the one-touch system. The MNFs have thicker necks, right? There might be some problems there.

 

Well I've asked Luts about kids in options (cause they mentioned that NS an WS will be available by parts) and they said that they'll sell them in next year....also they will be selling ONLY heads and hands in NS/WS, not the bodies(either old types and the new ones inthose colors, onlyreal skin will be available). For me that is not good (I was hoping that maybe this will be the way I can get NS Cherry girl on old bod, when I'll have the $$) and also I am wondering what if someone have old type body ns/ws and their bod is broken?

And also about this ne FullPackage Mill Boy....there is written that he's in NS...but nothing about the type of the body...I am very confused now >_<

NOTE - Luts is in the the process of switching the Delf Kids over to a new color and body - Realskin. The realskin body seems to be a bit slimmer than the old Delf body. Right now, only the newer Delf kids are sold as Realskin heads and complete Realskin dolls.

Yeah its odd. I think they are trying to sell off their remaining normal skin Kid Delf heads (which is probably tough without matching bodies for them either!). Then I am hoping they will switch the heads all to Realskin and offer the new body at that time?

But this old announcement is odd because it doesn't say anything about migrating the heads to realskin.

A few questions ^^ Not plnning on buying now, but harm in future planning, eh?

I would love a Kid Delf Bory girl, but even though a lot of the Kid Delfs come in both boy and girl, Bory doesn't =(

Is it possible to ask Luts to include a girl body instead of a boy body for Bory? Will the head even fit without modification? Thanks ^_^

 

Mill and Bory and the various versions of Cherry are realskin on the new realskin body. That is whay they are in stock.

I think Luts made an announcement a while back that the normal skin (and snow skin?) Kid Delfs were now limited to stock on hand.

yesterday I was browsing Luts website, looking to see pictures of my soon-to-be dollies, when I saw with huge disappointment that Luts removed the white skin/old bodies options for Kid Delf leaving only the real skin/new body type option available.
One of my boys will be a Hodoo, and I didn't plan to have it with new body features also, If I have to buy it from Luts, at least, I would choose to have it in white skin.
So sad...

 

Yup, they completely discontinued old bodies and white/normal skin for Kid Delf.

Only option heads are still available with skin color choice and replacements of broken parts (at least that's how I understood the last part of the announcement).

Quick question - will a 8/9" wig fit a Luts Kid Delf?
I think they usually wear 7/8" size, but there's a wig I want and it's only available in 8/9". Will that be too big, or will I be able to get away with it?

 

I have a 7/8" wig on a 6/7" head as a temporary thing, and it only works because I have five rubber bands tied around his head. Though it fits, the wigcap is too big to the point that it reaches past his neck and gets bumped off from his shirt collar. So you can get the wig on and even fix it there with tons of padding, but it's going to swallow and take over the doll's head.

 

I found these pants at Friends2Bmade, and was wondering if anyone knows if they would fit a Kid Delf boy. I've seen a lot of minis in F2BM clothes, but I know that some of them fit kind of wonky...So does anyone have these pants? Thanx in advance for any assistance. ^_^

I think someone in that thread just got a Kid Delf and a big bunch if F2BM clothes and is going to try on what she has. Also, the thread has lots of photos and comments by people on what fit their various dolls, and once you are in the thread you can use "Search This Thread" for Delf.

The pants are a crapshoot for most dolls but Maybe Kid Delf is one they will work for. But the fit varies from piece to piece, so even seeing other pants on a Kid does not assure the ones you want will fit - just a better chance.

i just might really be planning to get a BJD at last with a KD Ani head on a MNF boy... i realize that the MNF neck system is different than the normal older KD ones... and since the KD head doesn't really have the neck part to hold and fit into the neck system, how do you people attach your hybrids? really want to know!!!

I use a Luts "neck piece" to hold Ivy's head on -- she's a hybrid Ttory head with MNF body.

This is the Delf "neck part" -- I believe there may be a smaller-sized Kid Delf size one that comes with Kid Delf heads, but you could ask Luts on their Q&A board (or someone who has more recently ordered a KD head may be able to answer this question.)

I removed the "one touch neck system" that sits on top of the MNF body's neck (it's attached by an S-hook), put in a normal S-hook, and secured it with the "neck part". You can also skip the "neck part" altogether and attach the Kid Delf head's inner resin hook to a normal S-hook, but it's easier on my hands to use the "neck part".

well since the Ani head is one of their earlier dolls, does that mean if i order the head it will still come with the Kid Delf neck piece? even if i order those two separately, is there an S-hook along with it? i really don't mind pictures cause that will give me a better understanding... i kinda get what you mean, but yup, pictures will help...

first time getting a BJD so i wanna get myself prepared... XD gonna order on my birthday... totally excited and nervous... that's why i wanna be well-prepared... ^_^

 

Honestly, just to make sure you're prepared, I'd order an extra S-hook (also found on the Luts site, in the same section as the neck piece) -- the MNF body doesn't come with a normal-sized S-hook.

I'm not very good at taking photos of the insides of heads, but I'll see what I can do for you

OK, here we go!

Here's Ivy:



Here you can see that her S-hook is held in place by the Kid Delf neck piece (which I could swear came with her head -- and she's an older head as well. Definitely verify with Luts that you're getting one with your Ani head, though!)



Here is her headcap, showing the resin hook. You can attach the S-hook to this hook and skip out on the neck piece altogether, but since I like to change out Ivy's eyes frequently, using the neck piece works better for me.

If you ask Luts to send a Kid Delf neck piece along with your head, I think they would. They're generally good about that.

Do the kid delf clothes sets on the Luts website come with the wig and shoes in the pictures? Its kinda confusing because it gives you all the info on the wig in the picture. Can someone help me?

 

No, they do not come with the wig or shoes.
They're only putting that info in case you'd like to purchase them separately and you would know what model it is.

 

I was wondering if a DOC wig would fit on a Kid Delf? Does anyone know? I really like a lot of the DOC wigs but I dont want to buy one if it doesnt fit.

 

I'm trying to check DOC's head size but so far I found 18cm for DOC (about 7 inches) and 19.3 cm for Kid Delf (7.6 inches) so there is more than 1/2 inch difference in their head sizes. So Kid Delfs wear a 7-8 wig and we don't know for sure what DOC wears because it's so close to an even inch.

But I found this searching google (pulled up an old DoA message):

"Too & Bee-A have the same sized head, and wear sized 6/7 or 7 wigs; all the DoC's do."

So your answer is that DOC wigs would be too small on Kid Delf. In general you need to shop for wigs at places that list size of the wig (Kid Delf wants a 7-8) or places who sell minis with head size similar to Kid Delf's.

I'm planning on buying a CP Bory, but I need to know wich size of wig he needs, can anybody help me with this? I'm sorry, I really am a n00b with this...
But anyway, I think he needs MSD sized wigs, but I'm not sure...

 

The Kid Delfs normal wear size 7"-8". The Luts site has a lot of very nice wigs in that size. I hope that helped.

 

Most companies list either the head circumference or the wig size in the doll listing or in their FAQ. Unfortunately, Luts did not list the head size of the new Kid Delfs!

In general...

If you know the head size in cm or inches you can usually figure out the wig size.

If the head circumference is in cm you convert it to inches by dividing by 2.54
Example: 18.7 cm / 2.54 = about 7.36 so this doll would wear a 7-8 wig

The only time it is tough to tell wig size is if the head size is very close to exactly 7 inches or exactly 8 inches - then you need to check with owners on what brands fit well because some won't stretch that far and the next size up may be loose.

I'm using the kid delf wig on my Bory, its a perfect fit. He's had some interesting adventures and his wig stays on very nicely.
There is a Bory pic request thread and a Bory database out there now with some examples of the different looks and wigs we're using if you wanted to check them out for some ideas too.

 

My Bory is wearing a 7-8 inch wig, it fits perfectly fine. Anything bigger or anything smaller wouldnt work to well. Smaller might work if it's elasticated and you have something for it to grip to. But generally stick to 7-8 they work the best. Basic default size MSD wigs.

 

when you order a head from the kid delf option parts, will it be in real skin? it doesnt say if theyve moved over to it yet or not, but then again apparently MNFs are real skin and it doesnt mention that anywhere....?

i really need to know since im wanting to create a kid delf mnf body hybrid, and i have a jeong head, but i dont know if she's real skin or not *first doll, i dont know the differance* and when i order a mini fee body from the site i have no idea if itll match her T_T i want to buy one second hand anyway but then is it even LESS likely to match...?

I really wish I could help. My MnF Shiwoo is normal skin and my MnF Shiwoo vamp is beauty white, so I have no idea what color the 'Real Skin' is. Sorry.

 

Luts option parts for Kid Delf aren't real skin (you can only get real skin via a whole doll). You have the option to choose normal or white. Luts said that is the only way to get the old options now. Also MNF aren't real skin, they still are normal and white. So there should be a match.

Does Mini Fee stuff fit on Kid Delfs?? Or would it be too small? I'm particularly asking about the underwear in the Mini Fee section since there isn't any in the Kid Delf section, but I was wondering what else fit on them.

 

Minifee is slightly larger in the hips so maybe they would work.

Minifee girl:
* Circumference of waist : 12.5cm
* Circumference of hips : 19.5cm

Minifee boy:
* Circumference of waist : 15cm
* Circumference of hips : 19cm

New Delf Girl
* Girth of waist : 15cm
* Girth of hips : 19cm

Yeah but Minifee have pretty big hips and she's asking about underwear for a boy.

Minifee boy's hips are the same as old KD boys and 1/2 cm larger than new KD boy.

Minifee boy's waist is the same as new KD boys and 1/2 cm smaller than old KD boys.

She can decide about the boy underwear based on that.

In general, they do not wear the same clothes, but the boy undies may work.

Oooh, great thread! I plan on making my elf Ttori head have a mnf body as well, and this makes me very happy to know that its that easy ^^

And my ttori head DID in fact come with the neck peice, and like Datsuki, the page said nothing about it. Just to make sure, it wouldnt hurt to ask luts about it, to make sure they send you one. Even if they made you pay for it, it'll be cheap since the SD one is a dollar XD
