The spirit agreed to let her off on the condition that she could "borrow" Kiki's body whenever she needed. When this happens, Kiki switches bodies and becomes a fox.

Well, moments prior to getting on a plane to come to Texas, the spirit needed to borrow her body and Kiki was once again forced to be a fox against her will. D'oh! She's currently waiting for the spirit to come and return her human body to her.
