Wigs "For My Doll" brand of Wigs

Since I just got my lovely wig I will show you a photo. This is the Sad Love Song wig in black with a purple bleach clip....





sadly this will be the only pictures of it in its original 'do....while I was messing with the bleach clips the rubberband in the ponytail broke. I think it looks cuter down now, but that also proves it is a great wig if you want to try different styles

Quality wise I'd say its pretty good. The fibers aren't as silky as Leeke or Dollga wigs but they're not all coarse and nasty either. Its quite pleasant to the touch, I'd say it reminds me of human hair on a man - not silky but still soft. Its well made, the hairs are wefted firmly and evenly across the cap with no shedding. There's no thin spots or weird poofy areas and it holds its style perfectly. I might also add that this is a size L (8.5inch) wig and it fits my DoT boy's little head perfectly, better than any other wig that is supposed to be sized for small heads, better even than his default wig from Dream of Doll.

Then I got him a Spikey wig in Blonde which I kinda dislike. Maybe it's the wig or his oval face looks better with straighter, darker hair

As for quality, don't expect much because much like my camera, I fail when it comes to taking pictures. XD The quality is great in person and they're so easy to brush. I love them.

What is the difference between "heat-resisting" and regular fiber strands? Why both types in one wig?

 

As far as I know the heat resisting will hold the colour better? I'm not sure but I like when its a different colour. My new wig is White with silver heat resisting and it really just added a shine to it.

Here is High Lanyard for those who wanted to see it. Both are the same style in the DF11 purple color.

 

Here's my 6-7" Sad Love Song, in silver heat-resisting fiber. It comes with the upper half of the back tied in a ponytail -- I wasn't sure, when I ordered it, whether this was just a serving suggestion or how the wig would actually come -- which I untied; it needs styling, but the feel of the fiber and the way it photographs are both stellar.





These were taken in a combination of natural light and, uh, the light from my hugenormous flatpanel monitor. The wig sits a little oddly on my girl's head because she has a tiny 5" skull and a relatively huge 6" headcap.

 

Here's the two I've ordered so far:

Sad Love Song (down) in Base Fibre 60 and Heat Resisting Fibre F16 (with "hair bleach" pieces of... some color or another, I don't remember which is which anymore):

(Though it's totally the wrong color for him and I'll eventually resell it...)

I've found that MSD runs a little on the large size for my dolls, so when I place my next order (possibly as a GO!) I'll order a size down so they fit better.

I've also been asking them, and apparently they can work the two colors (base and heat resisting) together in specific patterns on request. That's my plan, as I'm already sick of adding wefts to my wigs to add the streaks, and I'm nowhere near done.

 

The first pic is blurry but it does show the color and shape quite nicely. Its Shadow Perm, size 9 in color Ocean Blue (DF16).

>_< I was hoping that sizing down would be good but the wigs are too snug. So for those with MSDs, don't size down to YoSD. While they might go on, they look smaller and are too snug.

How do the Small SD and Large SD sizes run? I have a FMD wig I bought on the Marketplace that is supposed to be an 8-9 but it won't fit even my Soom IO or Iplehouse Mars heads. I plan to order a few wigs from the newest group order, but want to make sure I get them in the right sizes.

Also, has anyone tried FMD wigs on Iplehouse minis? If so, how well do they fit them?

The 27T looks darker than I pictured it. Do you know if that is a "true to life" color?

 

I think it's a little lighter than that in real life. It's a very rich caramel color, definitely not a blonde.

 

Anyone have Purple Rain in light purple (DF15) or Milk (1001)?

Or more pics of the color light purple?

 

Does anyone know if the Yo size fits Unoa heads well or are they a little big?

 

Do the FMD wigs have elastic in them??

The FMD wigs definitely do have elastic in them! It makes them very easy to use.

Wondering if anyone had any images of the heat resisting grey colour. I've seen the silvers and they are too light for what I'm after, so am hunting for a good view of the grey :3 Though, pfft, grey, how many people have grey haired dolls ^^;

Okay. The first one (Oracle is wearing) is called High Layered and the color is the red wine (possible dark . . .#135)

The second one is (Laila is wearing) is called So Cool and the color is black with red wine streaks.

 

I'm considering getting several wigs from For My Doll for my soon-to-be Shall in the near future and I was sort of wondering about the quality of the wigs in general. Like, how stiff/soft are they, how bad about flyaways, how easy to style, tangling, etc...
I honestly don't know a lot about that sort of stuff since my first BJD was not only tiny, but anthro, so she didn't wear a wig! XD However, the idea of being able to order in whatever color I want (and with some beautiful color choices available) REALLY appeals to me!

Originally I was going to order from leekeworld, but I read that their wigs don't fit Shalls very well, plus they're sold out of just about every thing I want anyways. @.@" *too impatient to wait for preorders on non-heat-resisiting fibre XD*

 

The wigs are easy to style and care for and I would definitely order from FMD again. My only issue I had was with Oracle's red wig, At the front of the wig,you can clearly see the black cap where the wefts (or whatever they are called) is thin. She also has one strain that didn't get dyed so she has a gray hair - lol.

 

All the FMD wigs I've seen and owned have been extremely high quality. The hair fiber is very soft, and the wigs are SO thick and luxurious-feeling! I have no problem styling the ones I have, and I'm very picky about that sort of thing. I think the FMD wigs are the nicest wigs I've ever owned.

 

Does anyone have a FMD wig in LT Purple (DF 15)? I'd love to see some owner photos.

 

I'd still love to see anyone wearing the "Now to that place" wig, but also anymore "Sad love song" ones too
