Background: Griffin was born in Ireland and adopted at the age of three after his mother died of cancer, he never knew his father. He was raised in England by a hard working family who now have a successful business in Japan, where they now live. He left his bartending job, his friends and band in England and moved to Japan to be with his family after feeling lonely once they'd been gone just 2 months. His aunt got him a job in a history museum as a night watch guard where he had been working for 4 months and was trying to figure out what his life would be in Japan. He met Meredith and the two got serious very quickly. He gained many friends and feels she has brought out a better side of him.
He has recently moved back to England with his new 'family' (His girlfriend Meredith, her sister Kit and Kit's girlfriend Kari) where he plans to study marine biology so he can work in the London Aquarium.

The season of Autumn, Calin's magic is the strongest of all the seasons. Having shied away from the original war when the Emperor invaded their world, Calin retreated to tend to those who would not fight, serving as both healer and defender. When Aesyl fell to the Emperor, Calin yielded himself willingly, preferring to go quietly and assure the safety of his followers rather than to fight. Under the command of the Emperor, he knew no end of abuse, and suffered unspeakable horrors from the tender ministrations of his brother, Lahain. He retreated into himself, stifling his abilities and taking it upon himself to serve as tutor and companion to Sofien. When the uprising came, he shocked the Emperor and all of the court by banishing the Enforcers to the central plateau, rendering the Emperor defenseless against the surge of Sofien's soldiers who were invading the castle. Sickened by battle, exhausted and cursed by his own betrayal, he'd begun to wither until Sofien brought him out of the castle and in a public display, freed him of his bonds. Now, with no compulsion to serve any master, he remains at Sofien's side out of loyalty and adoration, providing the greatest defense against Lahain's monsters.

Far more evil than the Emperor could hope to be, Lahain derives immeasurable pleasure from torturing and mutilating his victims, often times beginning his 'reconstruction' while they are still alive to endure the agony of his affections. He's studied the forces of energy in the universe and holds control over several powerful demons, having severed their connections with the divine and decrepit. His fascination with his younger brother, the season of Autumn, borders on the obscene. Since losing contact with his siblings, he has become unstable and unpredictable, as likely to destroy his creations as to put them to good use.
