Hi, I want to see your dollies in togas, armour, or anything else that screams anceint greek or roman culture. Heck, I'll even take costumes made for a dollie frat party! Show me your sheets.
Hi there......here's a few shots of my guy...Dollshe SA Tanned skin Saint.....as a Roman Trooper.. these are in the Gallery too......... All the best, xen
There must be something about SA Saints and classical clothing - because I just made mine a chiton from a pattern I found through Google. XD (I'm still editing photos, so I just have a couple...) He still needs a decent belt, though. XD
Hi. ^^ My next couple of dolls are going to be two girls from ancient Greece and Rome. I did some poking around, but I could only find a few pictures of dolls styled like this (and fewer where the outfit was actually visible), and I'm trying to get inspiration for some Greek-and-Roman-inspired outfits for my girls. Some of the more fantasy dresses are close to the style, but it's just not quite the same. So, if you have a greek or roman-themed doll, or even just an outfit that would fit this category (even loosely), please post your pictures! C:
Not that you can see it very well, but Khorae owns a peplos dress that she runs around in occasionally when she's frolicking with her husband. Search the costuming workshop for a thread about "togas" and you'll find an in depth discussion of who wore what, and how to make it.
Ok, I went ahead and made the peplos. C: It was fun and crazy easy. The top is just safety pinned for now; I'm searching for something more permanent. I don't know where the sandals are from since I bought them second-hand off of the marketplace. The belt and necklace are human bracelets. And this isn't my doll's proper wig. I'm still waiting for it to arrive. But she looks so cute in it >w> Please ignore the wrinkly bottom. :/ I don't have an iron since I'm at college. And one with a shawl (just a skinny scarf I found in a thrift shop) C:
We had a Faunalia meet-up back in December that was quite fun! I threw together an ensemble for my Genji/Dollshe boy, but didn't ever photograph it. The green jersey knit draped much better than wool would at that scale. I should get back to finishing it before photographing it, I suppose... Ganked from JennyNemesis:
St. James -- they look gorgeous! Here are my additions. I didn't get a chance to make underwear for them! But, I got the other pieces put together. Model: I-Doll Byul Model: Supia Rosy Model: Iplehouse Asa
Wow, your Asa looks great styled like that! She's got the heft of a classical statue, for sure! Awesome wig too!
Thanks so much! Her figure looks great in draped clothing. I actually used her as the model when I was making all the garments because I just loved how her shapely figure worked so well in them. The wig is a slightly modified MA Cissy wig! Thanks so much.
Thanks, Luarwulf! I like the draping and accessories of yours so much though! For attaching the two sides together, I actually just used large beads (metal and glass) and sewed the two together for the areas you have shoulder-pinned in yours. It's pretty inexpensive (I think I got the beads on sale for $1.97 at Wal-Mart) and easy. Another fabric that I think could work really well would be a mesh cotton jersey.
I have finally completed my gladiator costume and can now stick it in here. A slightly BDSM Theokoles (I am a Blood and Sand obsessive), made out of bits of leather and wrist bands.
I have my little hybrid, his outfit is still in progress! (I'll edit this post with a new picture when I've completed his toga and received his sandals) For now all I have is his tunic that I made. More to come!
