The Haunted Dollhouse is the name of our orphanage. It is located somewhere in the 19th century English moorlands: a big, old, isolated house full of old furniture, dusty corridors and creaking wooden staircases. It got its name because of its likeness to an old-fashioned dollhouse: the yellowed tapestries, old toys and Victorian decorations. And why “haunted”? Well, some say that something bad happened there in the past...
It is surrounded by a big garden where the children can play. A small village is located over an hour away, but the children do not usually visit it. They are being educated at the orphanage, and well, the villagers would not really want to see them too often.

Something more: She was left at the orphanage’s doorstep as a very small child: we found her in a basket on a cold winter night. Most probably her parents were scared by her appearrance: she was born an albino and her red eyes might have been read as at least a sign of the devil. She was lucky that she did not end up at the bottom of a well.
Her most important problem is not really the fact that she cannot stand sunlight, but she has a phobia against it – she fears that something bad might happen to her if she spent too much time outside. That is why she usually sits in the shadow of a tree or a parasol. She especially loves rainy afternoons. Her eyes are always swollen due to her bad eyesight (it is common between albinoes); she loves stories, but she cannot read herself, so she likes when someone (usually Madeleine) reads them to her. She likes the colour blue and playing with dolls.

Dav doesn’t have many friends, because when he was younger some kids were bullying him, and that unlocked a huge amount of magic power, causing the boys to be very badly injured. History: Alex was found by 3 vampires wandering around in a orphanage under attack by demons at the age of 2. they rescued him from the wreckage and took him home to the Order where they raised him with the help of Jesse, a human whose husband had been killed by vampires. around the age of 10 they decided it was time for him to go to a real school instead of being educated by the scholars in the Order. they thought it would be better for him to interact with kids his own age. unfortunately it turns out he doesnt get along with kids his own age. they tease him for being too pretty and looking like a girl, for being smarter than they are even tho he's younger (he tested into a higher level and is with older children) and because he's small and delicate-looking for his age. he's highly "sensitive" at times able to feel emotions and spirits near by. he also has a limited "sight" and can see into the world of Faerie, he suffers from terrible nightmares and at time sleepwalks and has insomnia.
