Tips on heavy, even eyeliner?

Jan 22, 2007

    1. HI!

I'll be doing my first face-up really soon, because I have no experience I'd rather not use acrylics since they are harder (or look harder) to use.

What would produce an effect that is more like a black eyeliner done with acrylics... Watercolor or pastels?

      *_*

    2. I think the watercolor.....I've been using the Faber-Castell watercolor pencils...and i've been getting a really nice look for my eyelashes...and they have a silver and a gold even :>

    3. I would say watercolor. It gives it a really slick, smooth look. But if you want something softer like black eyeshadowish eyeliner, go for the pastels. It really depends on what look you want.

    4. especially for your first one..i would do eyeliner with water color pencils..
      and eyeshadfow with pastel powder.

My girl was done thay ...well ther is a little black watercolor pencil in her eyeshadow as well..

(watercolors are really nice for eyebrows and lower lashes 2)

    5. Thank you for your help!!!

      I'll try that ;)

    6. Do you have a photo of the pencil case? I'd like to use farber castell pencils in the future too because I am not very talented with mr. color colors

    7. I have just started learning to do my doll's faceups, and I'm having a lot of fun with it :) The eyeliner really stumps me though :doh When I try to put a thick line of eyeliner on the lower lid, the edge of the line never seems to go on straight. I have tried using the edge of the brush but the line still wavers. I have also tried watercolor pencils but they just don't seem dark enough. Any tips would be very appriciated! :aheartbea :aheartbea :aheartbea

    8. Have you tried pointing the head down and just skimming the back end of the edge? ^^ that usually works for me!

    9. Sometimes I put the brush through the eyehole (I know, it sounds scary) from the back, and do it from the other side. It really helps. If you can get one of those lights with the magnifying glasses on them, so that you can look closer, that really helps too! :)

    10. Thanks for the suggestions...I was putting the brush through the eyehole, but not through the back. I'll try that :)

    11. You could try watercolor again. apply watercolor pencils, let it dry, seal it, then repeat until it's how you'd like it! by the way, Bell your icon is adorable. lol;)

    12. I'm going to have a go with the "layered" suggestion
