    3. Here's Sa'getowah, but she's not all dressed up. Some day I hope to make her some slippers...perhaps some point shoes too and some rehersal gear and if I feel really ambitious a nice performance outfit!

    4. Odd request but im interested in seeing ballet slippers on Sd sized dolls, any colour is fine. ALso if possible could you say where you got them. Thanks very much.

    5. I got my ballet slippers from Releaserain on Ebay.

Keya is a DOT Shall and they fit perfectly. ^___^

    6. Pics of your ballerinas please, preferably tiny ballerinas, but any work. If possible could you please tell who made the outfit too?

    7. Well.... it's not exactly a ballerina outfit, but it does involve a tutu! I never made a proper top for her, oops...

...Yes, so I made this one, and let me tell you, it's a lot easier to make tutus in doll size instead of human! Hope this helps!

    8. Here is a shushu ballerina
I hope red rosin doesn't mind me posting this... If there is a problem, I will happily take this down ^_^

    11. One of my dolls is a ballet dancer (and a circus dancer as well, hence the makeup). Here's a pic from a recent photo shoot:

I'm still working out the poses, since I have no real previous ballet experience... :sweat (That, and she just doesn't seem to want to hold her arms straight out at the shoulder... they tend to sag downward).

    12. Ah yes, my (grotesque) Steampunk doll:

    13. And so is Zoe, my IH Amy. She's still waiting for her shoes...

    15. I finally got some pictures of my Morgan. Eventually I will have many more pictures - several of the dolls at my house have characters that attend the Canadian National School of Ballet.

      And his super dorky coat...

      There's a bunch more here.

    16. I happen to be a longtime dancer; I would be THRILLED to see some en pointe ballerina dolls. Does such a thing exist? If not, how do we make the suggestion? ;)

    17. The closest thing I've ever seen to ballerina feet is high-heeled feet with a big slant, but it still doesn't look quite right for a ballerina pose. *_* Also, even if the feet exist, they might not fit the doll you're looking for them for. Do you have a doll in mind for such feet?

    18. I'd LOVE to see Ballerina feet as an option....The only thing we can do is to suggest it to the BJD companies/makers, they do listen to us you know... ;)
It is hard to get "normal" BJD feet into the proper position for ballet en pointe....it never looks graceful..... Here is a little shoot I did with "normal" feet into pointe position..........:doh

      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=273602

      xen :)

    19. Maybe you could bend the feet? They usually won't point far enough for a true en pointe stance because of the calf-ankle joint, but maybe it it was sanded at the back you could?

    20. I wonder if it would be possible to actually bend high heeled feet, (with the afformentioned arch), to an en pointe position using steam/heating method some customisers use to change the shape of hands? It seems plausible and with the high heeled feet you'd be 1/2 there already

    21. You could fudge super-high-heeled type feet as demi pointe if you could find them, but I think for full-on pointe you would have to bend the toes down or sand them off and use shoes to fill out the space missing.

If anyone asks about it you can just say, "Her feet are deformed from years of dance. :(" Speaking as someone who had deformed toes for years. :/

And naturally, I don't think the doll would stand very well. Or at all. No point (HA) in making ballerina feet if the doll can't even stand on them.

    22. I think.. dont quote me on this.. Domuya(?) has bodies with a flex point on the foot, made in a way that you could possibly point the toes more downward.
I know a long time ago, someone sculpted beautifully arched/pointed feet for thier Ballet dancer charater doll.
I would definately LOVE to see a Ballet dancer doll, with a body that can easily pose in the positions correctly, and have 180 degree turn out from the hip, and option feet that have amazing arches and insteps, one set in demi pointe, and the other in full pointe.
I would definately experiment with the high heeled feet. Since most are made with a high instep and an actual arch, using the one of the heating methods you could "push" the toes down in a pointed position.
      Good luck!
*Jen (full time ballet student ^__^)

    23. My Volks SD10 body can go en pointe, in a similar way to the Shinydoll Thaasa body. I've never managed to balance it well enough to stay that way without leaning on something, though XD

    24. Not without modding I'm afraid. These feet are shaped in such a way that the feet can point up as in high heeled shoes, but
they can't be pointed downward. Neither the flexi type S body nor the flexi perennial can do this:(.
I guess currently the only option is to have someone custom make some optional feet that fit the body you have in mind.

    25. If it gets done the feet and lower legs could be one piece to make them more stable. I have several off topic dolls who go on pointe, one had solid legs that are jointed at the hips, another has joints in her hips, knees, and ankles. There are times when the jointed one will be dancing and her legs will collapse. If nothing else the legs would need good catches.

    26. Now THOSE were interesting pix of the doll that can DO it!

You know what a REAL foot does, is bend in the middle. If they made one that can do THAT then THAT would be primo - no, PRIMA, haha!

The thing about ME is... I don't mind using STANDS!! :o

Oh - & I think I might just like that Shinydoll, I'm just in the market for any doll that would have those feet. I'm such a newbie I have 0 dolls as yet... :(

      Another thought:

They have magnetic stands w/magnets in their feet, correct? Well - in a bigger doll, magnets in the TOES just might work...! Whatja think?

    27. It's not quite en pointe, but AoD's girls can point their feet fairly well:

Mine has the Version 2 body. I haven't tried standing her on her toes, but I'll try and see!

    28. If she had pointe shoes on she'd look fine. How many pink box dolls with high heel feet have we put molded pointe shoes on? For standing a saddle stand, my ot ballerinas came with those, or a bar to lean on, or a danseur, could work.

For a doll you want to pose and twirl and make dance a Dollfie Dream or Obitsu 60 might work best. My Obitu can keep his legs strait and balancing on one foot is no problem. I can see having one on it's toes, holding its hands, and making it "walk".

    29. Actually, to give you a better idea of a dancers foot, it is impossible to bend in the middle, since there are not joints, only the long thin metatarsal bones.
We point our feet from the ankle, and finish the line off by pointing our toes as well. It all about lengthening, which makes your body have long beautiful lines.
The illusion of the foot bending in the middle depends on the dancers arch. Some dancer have almost flat arches, while others are blessed with super high insteps and arches. We call these "banana feet".
Highly arched feet usually go through pointe shoes alot quicker than an average arched dancer, and most require a harder insoled shoe to support the foot.

      *Jen

    30. I'm also curious as to how the doll would stand on her toes. She/he would have to be holding onto something or leaning against something because of the weight. 0.o

    31. Mwa ha ha ha... I did it!

I know it's not really accurate, pose-wise, but if you have a barre or something else for the doll to hold onto (in this case a coffee table), the AoD v2 body can indeed stand on its toes. The pointed feet do support the weight of the body, but it cannot balance without something to lean against.

It does bear notice that my girl is hot-glue sueded, though.

    32. Hi~Here is our 1/3 ballet feet with special pointe ballet shoes.
      Hope you will like them.^_^
      [IMG]

    33. I can't make it exactly perfect, but my Resinsoul Song can do pointe nicely.

    35. I've seen a lot of ballerinas popping up with the dance style pointe shoes, but I've always wanted to see the fetish ballet boot variety. So I broke down and made my girl a pair. I started by sculpting a new set of feet in the correct position out of apoxie sculpt, and then drafted the pattern and figured out the lacing and everything. A good friend of mine helped me cut out and shape the heels out of clear plastic. They look like glass, or ice cubes in real life. I was really amazed because she can actually stand on them unassisted. Its actually easier for her to stand on them compared to some regular unstable heels!

      [IMG][IMG]
      [IMG][IMG]

There's a few more pics of them in this set, and on my flickr.

    36. Domuya does have feet that have a flex point at the arch of their foot but with out a little help in the suedeing department they can't do point. I've gotten my Faith to go on point after she was newly sueded but it takes a lot of practice and the patience of a saint. If I can remember I'll post some pics.

On a side note it's kinda funny how many people are from Seattle posting, are we really that into ballerinas?

    37. My little Bijoux (PKF Ante) loves to dance

    57. I have the peapod feet for sd's which I assume are the same except for size (I have the MSD size on order) and they are beautiful. The price of the shoes is great. But hurry and get them, rumor is Peapod wont be selling single sets of feet for much longer.
