Theme Goth Boys or Girls

I think Dalamar is quite gothic, though he does have his own mix of rock/metal and mage look added too

My friend, LadyLenneth often says my AR Cien boy, Tohaku and his MNF Shushu Vamp girl, Kaimei are soooo goth they s*** bats. LoL!! You be the judge of that. Tohaku has 4 ear piercings, gothic faceup, and bite marks on his neck.

Personally, I think theres a lot more to 'looking goth' than the ol' dark angry makeup, black clothes, leather and black hair:

 

I keep deluding myself in thinking I don't have "goth" dolls, yet certain aspects of the styles I keep coming back to just scream it so loud I can't really pretend anymore.

Avaren tends more toward the elegant...


...which is my personal favorite gothic style, if I had to choose.


Kivah likes black with frills...


Aacheron is something else entirely, but when he's not wearing this...


... he dresses slightly more punk/skater - but still with a certain darkness he just can't shake.


And then there's Azrael who likes poet shirts and black leather.


I hope that helps some. (and I also hope a lot more people post in this thread because it's very interesting for me to see how others interpret the Gothic style.)

This is as goth as my boy has ever gotten, which isn't very goth, but it's just enough for him:



My particular style of Goth is just dark, lots of black, some morbidity or at least some serious melancholy, angst, and a stark and beautiful contrast between the darkness and pale, playing off the abysmal versus the blank.

As for what Goth represents, like the style, I feel this means something different to everyone, and to me, it represents that yin-yang at each extreme, forces at their most opposite, and life at its most agonizing because of being caught between those extremes, and thus the morose, the grief, the sorrow and the bitterness shapes our expression and outward reflection to the world in its contradiction.

That was probably just my insane rambling, but you asked and there it is.

o.O Just to add...goth isn't just "wearing black and having thick black make-up and having black hair...and being draped in black."
It's more than that. It's really unexplainable and different from each person. I know someone asked, so I just wanted to add this.
But goth to me is just having a different view on the world, seeing it a littler darker a f'ed up than every one. I seem to see everything a little more clearer than everyone around me too, I am more realistic than most people that I know. The clothes I wear, are black the only reason I ever give is because that's what I feel best in. Not because it fits some image. I am just attracted to "gothy" clothes. ^_^ but I do have like purple/red/pink fishnet shirts.
Oh I have purple hair. woohoo!

And emo=far from goth. Please, please don't confuse goth and emo. x.o
Lord knows every day I walk into a store and get called emo now because little MTV kids and scene kids think their cool xD Anyway! Being goth is really hard to describe but since this is just dolls and stuff I'm not going to make this a four paragraph post xD haha.
Your guys' dolls do look amazing though, they are so pretty.

I second BunnyChan, being goth is a bit more than wearing black and looking angry/sad with black painted eyes ect.

For me, gothic is a dark elegant to morbid style.
It was splitted from the punk scene in the 80s, so originally goths are dark punks.


My Jace Midnight is a goth. More the 80s kind ^^

 

I'm a little more of a purest when it comes to what Goth is to me. Goth was Metal rockin', poetry writin', only black wearin', vampire lovin' people.

Well I've been told that my boy Kaito is rather gothic looking (although I think he's got more of a Vis Kei kinda look to him, too perky/cute to be goth or emo lolz)...anyway judge for yourselves

About the closest I have to a Goth-boy over here is Ptolemaeus, my Vampire Breakaway zephyr... His style is a little hard to describe.

 

Henry is more your elegant goth, but his brother Ghost is more dark and broody.

Ash isn't really "goth", he just dresses that way occasionally (he's a model, so he wears what he's told). He's more elegant goth than anything. He does have a pretty dramatic faceup, though.






However, when I was offered this particular head in a trade/sale, it practically screamed "Lore" to me. It was definitely him.




Evensong goes goth every once in awhile, too.

More borderline/goth aesthetic (and I'm old-style goth, from the '80s/'90s, so that's more what I'm used to... the EGL stuff was a cool revival for me).

Sugarble Naga. Grey dolls almost always seem to be sort of Goth to me! And dark purple. And SNAKE tails!!! Even if he's not wearing black jewelry...


And come on! Ringdoll Frankenstein (v.1). Goth! Plus he's grey and dead (but revived), and wearing a black skirt-thing...


Another grey skinned doll... Soom Euclase, Last Judgement... with black wings! And you can't see them, but BIRD-Talon FEET!!! and EGYPTIAN. SO goth, although not, you know?

I don't really consider my dolls to be Goth, but I have been told I am Goth IRL because I wear black all the time. I perosnally think Goth is more of a lifestyle than a color preference when it comes to clothes, but I guess some of my dolls might look a bit "Gothic" sometimes, depending on their outfits. DX
