The Volks F16 Army

Name: Oliver C. ("C" stands for "Cedric")

Personality: Oliver is a shy, quiet and very gentle boy who appears to be 14 years old.
He has a beloved step-sister that is a few months older than him.
I don't know much about him yet, but I'll write something more as soon as he tells it to me

Why have I chosen an F16 boy?
Because F16 heads are very sweet and elegant, and F16 boys look good in many different outfits and styles ^_^

Personality: a cold, calculating, and tough as nails exterior masks her hidden vulnerable side and well of caring about those she loves. difficult to get to know, but once you get through she is a fiercly loyal friend who will put anything on the line for you. she is, at her core, committed, rebellioius, idealistic, and deeply fearful of losing her freedom and having her secrets revealed.

History: Turtle comes from a war-torn country, where she was an active member of the underground resistence to the current administration. However, there was an information leak from within the network, and, their cover blown, members were forced to flee for their lives in the resulting confusion, leaving behind even those they cared about in fear they could have been the mole. Turtle left her girlfriend, Mouse, behind; rumours surfaced that she had been killed, and torn between raging grief and desire for vengence and the knowledge that her one chance at escaping and possibly being more of a help was nearing, she took it, and came here to me. She's still seeking out information about Mouse's whereabouts now, because although she tries not to put too much trust to hope and be bitterly disappointed, she knows in her heart of hearts that she's still alive, somewhere, and trying to find her.



Why an F16? I know it's kind of an unusual choice of head molds for a girl, but the moment I laid eyes on some of the gorgeous F16 and F28 boys around here I was smitten, although I tried to deny it for a while and placate myself with other dolls, none of which really was The One in the way I knew an F16 would be. finally, I bit the bullet and ordered her, and I was right, she's exactly what I was looking for. There's something about the eye shape, the eyelids, the way this face can be thoughtful and pouty and sad and full of attitude at the same time.

Profile: Tsuruki is a rather serious guy, but he's really just a big softie. Evidence of this can be seen in the way he treasures plushies. He has an interest in the ancient history of Egypt, like myself, but I'm -positive- he knows much more about it than I do. He's bitingly sarcastic at times, but usually follows it up with something kind. He doesn't like to hurt others. He gets along quite well with my little guy, Shinobu, but feels strange being a big brother/father figure. I think he worries he might do something untoward, but given his penchant for liking cute things, I don't think he'll have any problems. As for the love department, Tsuruki is not looking for love at the moment. He'll have his hands full later with Soh, our soon-to-be resident perv. I learn more about Tsuruki everyday and I love him to pieces

Why the F-16?: The F-16 was the first head that REALLY caught my eye. There were several that just made me go O_O!!! I think TabletopPhantom's Lawrence really fired me to get an F-16. He's so lovely

Technicalities: normal skintone, SD17 (Reisner) body. customized by Brier Moon - his eyeholes were widened, cheeks sanded. eyes: 16mm HG Golden Rod, currently wears black fur wig.

Background: Tai is American of Japanese descent. He had a short, miserable childhood, after which he grew up in boarding schools and built his life by himself. upon graduating from college, he joined the FBI. Though he was a promising young agent in the violent crimes unit, his short career ended in tragic circumstances. He started working independently in variety of jobs, until he was hired as security chief for a large corporate. when the president's son disappeared, Tai was sent to find him, and that's how he landed on his current position - a bodyguard for a reckless, fun loving brat.
Personality: Tai is serious, quiet, seclusive and aloof, but he can be friendly when required. very adaptive, he enjoys comfort; likes reading, smoking, and drinking coffee.

Why F-16? very early into my BJD 'journey', I fell in love with Avvelenato's Lucas & F-16, and started to notice all the gorgeous Lucas/Chris/F28/F16 around, it quickly became my favorite headmold (tho i'm not so sure now, i have to admit, i love so many XD), i'm so in love with the nose and i knew i had to get one. I was going to get him via FCS, but Tolen decided otherwise. So when i saw this head in the auction, he just called to me, and i knew it was Tai.

Why the F-16?

Quite possibly the first mold I ever fell in love with that made me want to start collecting BJD. However, it took me to buy 4 other dolls before I finally decided to get my FCS boy through ria_ria

4. What made you decide to get an F16 specifically? Was there a particular F28 or similar (Lucas, et al.) that made you fall in love with the F16?
I REALLY wanted my hands on captain Cecil, whose face type is similar to the F16 but a size bigger as advised by the DAD when getting him. However, I seem to have a loathing for rather big heads, so I got the head smaller than the one that resembles Cecil`s.
I must say I was rather glad with this choice as when I saw him with no-eyes intact, he looked mighty fine beautiful and with eyes he just has such a soft look (Eyecolor, methinks)

3. I was in love with this mold a long time before I actually got one. My friend had three and I would always play with them, so I finally broke down and bought one. I'm super picky about how my dolls look together. Background: Jaime was born in the South of England but moved to Massachusetts with her parents when she was a baby so that her mother - a scientist - could obtain a PhD from Harvard. After the death of her father when she was six, Jaime moved with her mother (Marissa) and younger sister (Andrea) to Washington D.C., her family estranged from her English grandparents. Jaime's mother was presumed dead when Jaime was twelve, and she and her sister were then raised by cruel distant relatives. When Jaime was almost eighteen, she and Andrea moved back to their old home, which was shortly thereafter destroyed in a fire. A few days later, Jaime's wealthy grandparents died, making Jaime the heiress to their fortune and estate. She and Andrea moved to the Hathaway's late eighteenth-century estate along the Yorkshire coast.

Personality: Jaime is largely characterised by kindness and compassion and finds it easy to empathise with the hurting and dejected. She prizes tolerance above all else but may fall short of her own standards when she harshly judges the arrogant, selfish, and pointlessly authoritarian. Although she is largely a proponent of American individualism, her values are more socialist in principle, her political leanings basically liberal. What made me decide on an F-16: I wanted a more mature-looking female doll (i.e. older than a doll in her early teens), and the F-16 - usually used for boys - was really the only doll that captured the look I was aiming for, likely because Volks SD girls tend to be very youthful in appearance, with the boy sculpts appearing slightly older. I also like how this sculpt is realistic in appearance compared to other Volks SD girls. I especially like its slightly squarish shape, small chin, wide forehead, and cute chiselled nose.

What made you decide to get an F16 specifically? Brixton is my second F-16, and what attracted me to Brixton was his gentle-eyed innocence. At the same time, he has an intelligent, mature look to him, which I think most F-16s have.

From very early on when I entered the hobby I stumbled across beautiful F-16s and just fell in love with the cute face. But Volks always seemed almost impossible to get or unaffordable at least. But in September 2010 I suddenly found an F-16 on the MP exactly the way I would have ordered him through FCS and which had a fair price too,so - here he is!

What made you decide to get an F16 specifically? Raphael is my third F-16, and what sealed the deal for me was that he was one of my most favorite molds, modded and customized by one of my favorite faceup artists, Satoko Ohno. It really was a no-brainer. I love this boy!

 

So happy to FINALLY be able to join the F-16 Army! The Volks F-16 was one of the first BJDs that I fell in love with- but for some reason it took me years before I finally got not one but two F-16s! I love the large, dreamy eyes of the F-16 sculpt and that adorable pointy nose!
