Breast Reductions?

Jul 12, 2007

    1. Hey ^_^

      I have gone as far as I can to try and save my Bee-A, but it looks like I'll be selling her as I hate her chunky body and her mould is no longer my favourite. But all the dolls I want to take her place (and her character) have mature bodies. I like the thinner bodies, and they often are much better at posing from what I've seen, but a mature mini would look strange next to my bigger dolls o_o;

      If I was to get a mature mini body, I would like to give her a breast reduction so that she's still fairly child-like. But would this make the body look weird? Would it be off-balance and be unable to stand? Or does it depend on the company? And how easy would it to preserve nipples on the smaller breasts? Or would I just have to paint them on? ><;

      I'm thinking of going down to about 43cm Narae size (except I don't want her to be so skinny).

      Last Question: How much would it cost to have this done by someone in the market place? XD;; I'm not good with mods... But if it's gonna cost me hundreds, then I'd rather just keep saving and get a more expensive smaller-bust body.

      The only topic I could find on breast reduction was on female to male mods

      Thank you ~ ♥

    2. I don't think it would make the body look wierd. I personally have really wanted to see a small bust on a MNF.

      Their version of small bust, to me, looks almost the same as the large bust.
      And I'm pretty certain it wouldn't be *that* hard to preserve the nipples. It just depends how your using the sand paper and how big the patch is.
      If you get this done I'd LOVE to see the pictures.

    3. edible cookie, I agree the smal breast body looks huge! =/ And gravity defying... lol XD I'm thinking more of the Angel Studio, Angel of Dream or Dream of Doll bodies, as I like mid-torso joints. ^_^ But if it happens, I'll definatly post pics!

    4. Anyone done it? o.<;

    5. I'm sure its been done. also just consider what clothes you are going to put her in, because I briefly had a mini with more pronounced boobs and once I got her into clothes, you couldn't tell anyway. Or you could /consider/ just using the minifee boy body and sanding off his bits, which seems a lot easier to me than trying to sand down two breasts to the same size while preserving the nips.

    6. i believe you can use epoxy to make nipples after you're done sanding. a lot of people remove nipples anyway because they show up through clothing. I'm thinking about doing that for my doll. I'll PM you about the rest.

    7. I have done it to a 60cm girl, a Soom Kyrie. I would think that it would be the same. The MNF torso is a bit thinner than the Soom body. I just took a little off at a time, making sure I took off the right amount for natural shape on top. Here's a quick picture, I have more pictures in my sales thread. For the nipples I just put them on with a little apoxy clay, they are temp. When I do them for good I would actually make a small indentation where you want the nipple to be and put the apoxy clay in there, it will help hold the clay, but just sicking it on or painting them works fine too.

      Good luck! and don't forget to wear a mask!

    8. I have considered clothes, yes ^_^ Depending on which bodI go with, I'll think about that then <3

      The minifee boy body isn't what I really want. I want my girl to have a curvyfigure, just a flatter chest, if that makes sence, so she's kind of pre-teenish? ^_^

    9. sspearls: Thank you ^o^ Yes, using epoxy is a great idea o.o I'll consider that! Thanks for the PM about pricing ^_^

      Allison Wonder: Thank you for the pic ^_^ Your girl is really well done! She's about the size I want for my mini actually ^^ Thankies! XD I'm not planning on doing this myself though so the mask not really required... *not good with physical tasks involving a lot of money* lol

    10. I've given a Luts girl body (already the smaller bust) a breast reduction xD She was actually a female-to-male mod that I decided against halfway through the sanding and later sold as a reduction..Right now I'm sanding a Soom body down for the same female-to-male mod.. Gotta say I've *thought* about taking commissions but I have noooo idea what I'd charge, so I'm not sure what someone would ask for a mod like that (I decided against commissions though because I don't trust myself to keep up properly ^^; )..I don't think it'd be hundreds, though..

      If you later on decide to try it yourself I reccommend going at the doll with sandpaper and an x-acto knife (using the blade on its side to scrape away the resin). This way you have complete control over the mods, and can either keep or reshape the nipples youself. (pics of my first one-- one, two, three )

    11. Anyone else? Im intrested in this mod.

    12. I really want to reduce my girls breasts too. I got her a DZ girl body and she doesn't fin in clothing very well because they are huge! I don't want to do anything too drastic; just enough so I can get stuff to fit. What type of sandpaper do you usually use to do things like this? how can you make sure they stay even?

    13. you could always get a flat chest unoa body.

      my concern about sanding off the brests would be hidden air bubbles.

    14. Tips on how to spell, as well. Apologies in advance, I'm an idiot.

      Well, I'm still a bit of a noob. In a good way, I suppose. After two failed character attempts for my little girl, Shamil, I'm at the point of either doing some modding or selling her. And since I'm a crafty person and enjoy MacGuyvering things, I've decided to take the modding route.

      What Shamil should be is an androgynous female with narrower eyes and, well, a sense of snarkiness. She's a bit nasty, a bit tart, and doesn't want people to look down on her because of her gender or her height. You know. That type.

      What I have? A Ttori Elf head on a Blossomfairy body.

      Mmhm, yeah. I know what you're thinking. Perhaps. My minds probably a lot more fowl than yours. But, basically, I'm going to mod her into something a wee bit less.... Cute. Because she is. Achingly and disgustingly, though if you look at her from the right angle, you can see the inner monster, just waiting to leap out.

      Since I'm probably the worst person to ask (Since I look more male than female to the outside eye and fairly female to my own) what constitutes an androgynous style? I know that a breast reduction would be in order, as well as modding the eyes narrower, and probably sanding to the cheeks. But what else?

      Also, as I mentoned before, I am a consumate idiot. Does anyone have any favorate pages that they look to for information, from tips on what not and not to do to what sort of materials to use for the modding?

      Thanks, and I hope this wasn't as much as an incoherent ramble as I think it is.

    15. I hate to say it, but I think you'd have better luck starting with a male sculpt. To masculinize a face, you need to make things bigger -- jaw/chin especially, and probably nose and mouth as well. Even narrowing the eyes would be an additive mod rather than a subtractive one. And additive mods on resin are iffy. I really think you'd be better off starting with a male sculpt and making it girlier.

    16. Hmmm...keep the faceup natural and toned down with short lashes, (I don't know what size her eyelashes are, but some companies send them with really long ones)and try to convey more attitude with the angle of the eyebrows. What sized eyes are you using? Using a slightly smaller eye that has a smaller pupil and more white showing will often make them look less soft and innocent. You may have already though of these things, but just in case you haven't...

    17. Ttori is supposed to be a male sculpt from CP, but to me it seems more like a girl. XD There's quite a bit of cheek there to sand down into something, though. Poofy, little kid cheeks.

      Right now, she's blank. I wiped her and have to do a bit of sanding anyway to get a chip out of her forehead. She's wearing 16MM for the moment, since sculptey melted her 14MM. (She looks a little cracked out. XD)

    18. I would definately sand down the cheeks, and make them more pronouced, but not overly. If the lips are big, make them smaller, and less curvy.

    19. You can do amazing things with just shading/blushing. Also try doing the eyebrows a little more blunt and thicker (not neccesarily heavier), and natural lips. Maybe if you look thru the gallery at some heads that have had their "intended" gender switched, you can see what makes a head look either way...

    20. I'm also pondering this problem! I would love to get the new DOC girl body for my DZ (I want a shorter MSD X3) but I dislike the fact that the breasts are just as large as the DZ's. O_o. I ADORE the luts kid delf body, but, of course, CP resin is NOT a good match for DZ NS. :...(

    21. Ok so I'm going to start by saying I've never done a coustimization befor. (Never worked on spelling ither:) ) Any way I plan on buying a Bobobie Pandora in a couple of week's and am buying sandind stuff off of the Junky spot.

      Well I'm also planing to buy her in blue skin. So that could pose as a problem because I dont know when i sand her if the blue will just chip of or what, (if some on could tell me thanks!) but that's not why I'm here.

      I need to know how to do a boob reduction! If some one could tell me how to sand the parts. What precatons i need (I have asmea or how ever you spell it),

      Also form what I've heard is that the head sit's odly on the neck how do you fix that as well.

      Could you point me in the right direction or tell me what to do I would love it!

    22. First, you need a mask, since resin dust is toxic. That is the most important thing. This is especially important since you have asthma.

      Second, you will need several grades of sandpaper, from coarse to super fine. Rub the sandpaper against the doll in small circles to prevent big ugly scratches. Sometimes you can find the sandpaper that you need in the Wet/Dry variety. If you get that kind, you can sand the doll underwater, which greatly reduces the dust. You can either put the doll part & sandpaper in a bucket of water or you can get just the sandpaper wet.

      For Boob reduction, you might try cutting off the biggest part of the boob with and Xacto or cerra canna knife, and then sand it until it's smooth.

      Hope that helps.

      This is a big job and since you've never done any customization before, it might be worth it to commission someone else to do it.

    23. I would try asking someone who knows a lot about bobobies if the color goes all the way through the resin or not. Many tanned dolls can't be sanded at all because of the tan color only being applied to the first few layers of resin. Someone who might know more about this than me is blakrose- she's one of bobobie's American dealers. It may not turn out to be an issue, but better to know before you start to sand!

    24. Is it really going to be heard....wow I have got my work cut out for me but trust me. My step dad and I can do it! My step dad is really good at this kinda stuff! Thank you for the information!!!1

    25. should i not do it? Is it posibel i could ruin the doll doing this?

    26. Yes. Were you planning on turning the girl to a boy or did you just want her in a smaller size? I have a sincere feeling that that much sanding will certainly expose color variation. If it is simply that you want your girl to be a smaller size, then you can maybe do it, but if you want the boobs totally gone, I think it will be difficult to keep the color.

      Personally I see people do small modifications to their doll heads, like they say they sanded the cheek a little. I can never tell the difference so I don't know why they messed with it in the first place! If its small mod, just leave it alone.

    27. I just whant to reduce the size that's all...not a lot just slightly so she dosent look so intimidating....(She dose!)...

    28. wet dry sandpaper, outside (if temps allow or in a opened garage with a space heater) sand it in bucket, circle movements, mask, (with asthma I'd even suggest as going as far as to maybe getting a resporator of some sort depending on how bad your asthma is.) to make sure your dolls breasts are even and not miss shapened (one bigger than the other) i'd also suggest a caliper, if you can't read one i'd even suggest a digital one. (pm or e-mail dennis to get all the help you can from him about the resin)

      The head placement isssues I find to be from nothing holding the s hook. Really I don't find them that bad, but after you get your doll mess with her a bit and then decided about the head if it gives you a problem or not. If so there are several ways of fixing that that would different things.

    29. Awsome! You guy's are a great help. I'll have to show my stepdad when i get her, and unstring her....(Never unstrung a doll before....but this will give me a chanse to learn)...have him find all the stuff. (He has everything!)...and try it!

    30. when you unstring her post some pics please. i have yet to unstring my bobobie male body, yet am planning to. (he's so flopsy) so i'd love to see pics of how he's strung.

      also, may i suggest, get a bigger diameter elastic and restring your girl with it when you put her back together. bobobie dolls are super flopsy. mine has trouble sitting up sometimes, (i usually say he's had one to many drinks from this)

    31. (Ok but it's going to be a while mabye order her next week of the end of this week then i have to save up more munny to buy the restinging tools and string....)

    32. you probably have all the restringing tools you need around your house. shoelaces, plyers, dowel/pencil, wooden shishcob stick.

    33. Yeah, I never bought any restringing tools either. Depending on where in the world you are, you might be able to go to a craft store to get some bigger elastic too. :) Best of Luck!

    34. If you don't feel like saving more money, go ahead and just buy the elastic. I restrung my doll with a bent paper clip and q-tips. I've also heard latch hooks work well, I just didn't have mine to try with.

    35. I use 1/8 and 1/4 inch grossgrain ribbon (like the spool 'o' ribbon stuff from Wal-Mart) for restringing. Just loop through the elastic to double the ribbon up, feed both ends through the doll part(s) (1/8 inch is best for arms!), and pull the elastic through. Super easy and such. ^.^

      If you're not sure about the color differences on the resin (i.e. if it goes all the way through) you can try sanding gently the inside of the headcap.

    36. I'm also a Bobobie Dealer for the South East (USA) area, and I just wanted to confirm that the Blue, as with all of the colors, is NOT an applied topcoat or anything. The color is actually in the resin mixture itself, so yes, it CAN BE SANDED.

      On the note of a doll stringer-- we all have the one item perfect for it-- a wire coat hanger. I have three Bobobie dolls (my tiny gets no love though... >__<) and I restring the Tony and Rachael with the coat hanger unwound.

    37. Awsome information...I will soooo get her now! (Err later in the weex not yet mabye saturday)

    38. I have only one doll, my first, and I'm honestly a little paranoid to do anything to her. I do want to sand down her breasts and stuff, but I'm afraid of things like blotches and scratches in her resin. Or it ending up uneven and, and--Ahhh!!! Scary stuff...

    39. Planning to pull off a FTM on a body when it gets here, From what I've got from this thread, all that's nessasary is some sand paper and an xacto knife plus alot of patience? Seems a little too easy... e__e;

      Is there any kind of tutorial for this? Or is it really just that simple?

    40. I as well have this issue, and I am going to go slow since my IMPL Christoper will be my first "Firsthand" doll and she will mean a bit more to me... her character is an A Cup and i swear the doll is like a C or D cup... If I get too nervous I will probably stop and deal with it. Clothes are no issue since I make my own clothes... I think if you hand or slowly dremel them down and keep checking it shouldnt be a huge leap
